Stayed with my family in 2 rooms at the 5th floor. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was fine with omelettes, waffles, fruit etc. Bus to airport runs every 15 minutes. Rental car office just opposite so this hotel was perfect for us! Bell service can hold your luggage and check out was at 12 when I asked for late check out, which I thought was very reasonable.
Good value. Nice property. Helpful and friendly staff. Location is nice with easy access to the airport, and you can hire a ski boat in the near-by lake and add to your vacation adventure list. Gym is descent. Surrounding area of the hotel does not offer much in the way of restaurants and shops, but a short Uber ride will get you where you need to be for those locations.
Pros of this place is it is super close to the airport and offers a free shuttle. Staff is super friendly and nice. I reserved this room because I had a 5am flight out of Miami airport. I had a rental that I needed to drop off and wanted to get as much sleep as possible. I could not sleep at all in this room because the A/C was not working and it was hot AF in the room. I think I got about 2 hours of sleep. You can tell they tried to update the room but it still looks outdated. As soon as I walked into the hotel I was getting 1980's Miami vice vibes with 2010 upgrades here and there. You can tell this hotel is old and they tried to renovate with a facelift but the neck is still wrinkled. I'll probably try and find another hotel in the area before staying here again.
Very impressive level of professionalism and attention provided by the front desk staff. Checked in by Jasmine on the 3rd of July, who was excellent. Checked out next day by Jennifer and female colleague. Clearly the Sheraton is doing a great job hiring exceptional, customer-focused people. Rooms are super clean with comfortable bedding and huge flat screen TV. Enjoyed my short stay.
Had an amazing stay here. Inexpensive cost for a high quality stay. Good drinks 'n breakfast, would reccomend. Friendly & respectful staff; in specific, Katherine at the front did a great job with helping out.
Stayed for one night with my family. Redeemed a room with points and another for cash + points. Had the Bi level Suite and a connecting room. No doubt this is an older property that really needs to be gutted and redone at some point, but it worked for our needs. Check in was easy using the mobile check in. Mobile key worked as well, which is not always the case. Rooms were smallish but fine. Had a great 9th floor room with view of golf course and city skyline. Pretty cool. Room was quiet and were were not disturbed at all. Had a hard time getting the upper loft cooled down, but eventually dropped from 74 to 69 overnight while we slept. The spiral stair case to get to the loft is fun, but if you are not agile and a person that can make their way safely up and down a goofy staircase this wont' be the room for you. You can access the bedroom portion of your room from the 10th floor but will need a different key card to do so. Here is a PRO TIP: The downstairs suite has connecting door to a two bed room next door that we utilized. If you have a really large group, the upstairs suite bedroom also has connecting doors to another room on the 10th floor. Not sure of bed configuration, but the suite does have access to two additional connecting rooms (one upstairs, one downstairs). We ate at the bar/restaurant on property. Steak was great, greek salad pretty good. Service was just fine as well. DIdn't use the outdoor pool, but looked nice enough. Have a sandy portion to the side of the pool if that is your thing. Used mobile check out and jumped on a very full airport shuttle that leaves every 15 minutes. It was timely and predictable. They did have an extra driver standing by in case the regular shuttle was full. All in all, I would stay here again for a stop over-one last reminder, Nothing close by to walk to so unless you have a car or are hiring a car you are pretty much stuck at the property.…
This hotel has definitely lived its best life and is past it's prime. It is beat up, worn out and is need of an overhaul. My bed was clean (most important), but was otherwise pretty dirty - black hair all over the bathroom and you could tell a man had recently used the toilet and was anything but careful. The carpet was stained and the walls were all banged up - pretty gross. Pool chairs were torn up and, overall, just grungy. On a positive, staff was kind...it's hard when multiple planes have been delayed and many people arrive that are grouchy and tired.
I just came here to say this. I wanted to open up my window to see some beautiful Miami sky and I got this. Just no. Also, just be advised that the toilets are painfully low so if you have bad knees or a bad back you may struggle up and down. Just here for a few hours before catching an early morning flight. I’d stay here again for a quick convenience stay.
We stay there as the place is close to the airport and you can just walk in to the rental car center the following morning to get your vehicle. Rates are now 30% higher than last year whilst service is worse than what it was (and it was not top notch back then). Check-in takes long and staff is not experienced and focused on the job. They then sent us to a room number (I recall 908). The cards did not work. So before going down again. I checked on the app if I got the mobile key. That was not the case but the app said my room is 906 so that one worked. Room: ok and clean. Then went to the lounge around 09.45pm to grab something. Only soft drinks. No food/chips anymore. A choice to make I guess. Following morning wanted to have breakfast. I called front desk (on my european mobile as the in-room phone was dead) and asked where I can get it. They said that the lounge and restaurant both have full breakfast but given the hotel is not fully booked, they would recommend going to the restaurant as they would have more (so is it now the same as in the lounge or not?). I asked if both was complimentary for Ambassador member staying in a Suite. Answer: yes. Took the elevator and went down. The restaurant host then said they would charge us. Told them I called. Not interested. Went back up to the lounge for the other breakfast. Nearly nothing left around 10am. Got some cold scrambled egg and a coffee. Asked the lounge staff if there is nothing more. Answer: no but we could go down to the restaurant and to get in, she would give us a voucher. Gave up. I am not riding an elevator for 4 times to get a decent breakfast, running back and forth between a restaurant and a lounge. Put up with it, packed the bags and checked out. No further comment to make.…
Stayed here for one night based on other positive reviews and regretted it almost instantly. We checked in late around 11PM and the front desk lady was chatting with her other employees, who were cursing disinterested in helping us check in. She was rude rolled her eyes throughout the check in for no reason. Parking is $26 but the other reviews saying “there’s plenty of parking” is just not true. The garage was full. I called the Front desk lady who was unbelievably rude and told me to go to the overflow lot before hanging up. The key doesn’t work to get into the lot so when I called back to tell her she said “someone will open it soon” and hung up. The hallway wall was ripped up and moldy on the way to our room. Once we got to the room we weren’t surprised to see the dirty walls and furniture in their “club level” The AC took LITERALLY 4 hours to cool a 200sf room down. We should’ve known this would be an issue as the lobby was hot when we walked in. Once it cooled down, it didn’t even cool to the temperature we set it at and the room remained hot and muggy all night. I like to always give a place the benefit of the doubt but in a city with hundreds of competing hotels, do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay at the Sheraton. Go literally anywhere else. We only stayed one night here and couldn’t wait for the experience to be over.…
