Everything about this place was horrid. It was expensive (the most expensive hotel stay of our two week trip), it was dirty, it was noisy (we could hear every conversation in the neighbouring rooms), smelly, the hotel doors didn't reach to the floors, and the attitude of the reception staff to some of the customers (not us, but to many other guests) was terrible. Stay elsewhere.
This place embodies the typical pros and cons of almost all Motel 6s. First, on average I greatly prefer Motel 8 by far when the price and location are matching up. However, this location was convenience in my situation since I was car less at the time as I was awaiting some travel arrangement for MIA nearby. Large strip mall across the street w/a bodega, a variety of cuisines, etc. On a major thoroughfare but I have to give them a lot of credit-the glass kept the street noise out. The room was very basic with essential zero decor. The wifi was spotty-I was at a far end from the front desk where the only ice machine was as well. Well, not much else to say.
I made a reservation online using my credit card. It was a Chime Visa Credit Card, the reservation was confirmed. The card was charged, no problem. We showed up after midnight on a Sunday morning after a long flight. I handed Ricardo - the clerk - my driver’s license and credit card. He told me they don’t accept Chime - no prepaid, no Cashapp, no gift cards. It needs to be a real bank. He said do I have another card? I said no. I reiterated to him it’d already been charged, it’s not any of the categories he mentioned. It’s a seriously legitimate card which had already been charged. Almost as if reading off a script, he kept repeating “No prepaid, no Cashapp, no gift cards. Must be a real bank.” I asked, what can I do? He suggested I get a cash advance from a nearby ATM and there’s be a $100 cash deposit repaid when I check out. So I took an advance at an ATM. I came back with the cash and gave Ricardo the cash and ID. He said, “OK, and the bank card?” I said, “We just had this conversation, and you said to get cash instead!” He just kept repeating the script, “ no prepaid, no Cashapp, no gift cards.” He did reverse the charge that was already on the card…or so I thought. By the way, there is absolutely nothing in the fine print that indicates Chime is not acceptable. Ricardo also lectured me about how it is ridiculous that I don’t have a real bank card - “Everybody else does, what’s wrong with you?” This happened after 1:AM where I had literally called at least 5 other hotels by now with zero availability. And Ricardo had rooms available. People were calling asking for rooms and he’d say yes, and each time the script: “no prepaid, no Cashapp, no gift cards.”. This time he added “No Chime - must be a real bank like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, no fake banks.” I finally found a place nearby. I spoke to my bank to get the charge dropped off, since they claimed they issued a refund. The bank called them to confirm it. The clerk this time, Lydia, kept hanging up on us when we tried to get confirmation of the refund. We kept asking for the refund approval code, she wouldn’t give it over the phone. She finally said she could email it to me. I got the receipt with only internal information - absolutely no actual code from Visa. Numerous requests for the actually code have thus far gone ignored. This hotel appears to be very suspect. The staff is quite rude. I highly recommend not attempting to stay here.…
Ali was amazing!! We were in a pickle and he did so much for us from providing a room, recomendation for dinner within walking distance, provided great help with our car rental problem, and made sure we had a way to the airport at 3:30 am...the room was great also, everything updated and clean with a beautiful garden view
At around 1-2am a lot of strange things started happening. People knocking at the door, calling ou phone talking no sense, yelling at the hall. After sometime someone knocked more heavily at the door without identifying and asking to open the door (we later found out it was the police). After that someone called and asked to open door without identifying them selves. We tried calling receptiom and no one answered. After a few minutes the police knocked at the door. Of course we were afraid it was someone lying and had to call 911 to confirm it was the police. They entered and searched our room. It looks like it was a misunderstanding. My hypothesis is that reception gave our room by mistake. Other than that the staff doesn’t use face masks and hotel stinks beer and marijuana. I feel afraid for my safety at this place. …
Allie was incredibly helpful gave us a great room for a great price and worked with all of our concerns. He made the choice of going to this hotel in the future a definite. Thanks Mr. Ali I will recommend my friends
Well, to start with it was more than twice the price I am used to for a Motel 6 (but it's been more than a decade since I priced one). For the area, proximity to the airport, and a quick stop, it was just what I needed. Others have had a lot of negative things to say about it (and I understand some of the comments about the sketchiness), but for me it was perfect. The bed was VERY comfortable. Slept hard and fast.
We are very low budget people and do not spend a lot of money on motels. We are there for the travel / experience. We have stayed almost exclusively at Motel 6 because they are very clean, and definitely affordable. Near everything you many need.
I was out of office out on business. The classic Coca Cola Vending Machine doesn’t work no refunds available. The rooms were standard Motel 6 rooms I gave it a 4 because the vending machine stole my money. The stay was fine.Anthony
