My wife and I checked in and things were very nice. We have never been here so we looked forward to a new experience. The valet was great. Very friendly and helpful. The check in seemed great especially when I was told I was getting a room upgrade with a high floor balcony due to my Titanium Status. Well we were excited until we walked into the room. 1016 may be the smallest room in the entire hotel. It is actually the smallest room I have stayed in in 18 years in the BonVoy system. Better yet the balcony has no furniture and looks a little worn. It really isn't useful unless you are a smoker standing outside. The AC is temperamental it works but takes 20 minutes to get it going. The remote on the thermostat seems to be the problem. The toilet keeps self flushing so I had to turn off the water so it would not wake us up at night. The shower leaks with the door closed and we needed a towel on the floor at all times. That wouldn’t be bad but the towels are sparse so we had no extra towels to use. So in all, Everything works but nothing is impressive.

Well I thought this place was going to be amazing and it was just ok. The employees were nice didn’t bother u and answered your questions politely. The housekeepers while cleaning the rooms in the AM can be loud in the hallways talking and boy can they. The laminate floors in the room was a 😬 it made the room feel cheap. The barn door in the bathroom also was 👎🏽 if u had company or staying with someone good luck the can hear everything. When I saw the W name attached to it. I thought hell yea but it was ok. If u need a place to throw the bags down and do meetings and come back then this is ur place. Other than that it’s just a “hotel” oh and ask for a room with a double bed even if you don’t need it. Because a single feels like a jail cell. The pool is small and kinda off in a dark area but is cool to vibe outside. See pic for the pool view upwards.

We chose this hotel due to location and price as other reviewers noted. It is certainly convenient. That said, after our stay I would definitely pay more to stay somewhere nicer. The quality of this hotel was definitely not what I expected from Marriott.

It has good intentions in the design (modern colors and amenities for younger crowd although many were not in service due to COVID). However it’s an older building and despite the design elements, that much is obvious.

I didn’t feel it was particularly dirty but our room definitely didn’t look like the pictures. There was no carpet at all (which I guess is probably a good thing ultimately for hygiene, but just made the room feel “cold”) and the bathroom was very small.

We also felt we were in a party motel more than a Marriott. Agree with another reviewer that it gets loud on weekends (we heard people loud and clear even behind their closed doors) and ALWAYS reeks of weed in the elevator and hallways. One time walking back to our room we also heard a very loud woman, if you know what I mean. I mean I guess the hotel can’t control that but this gives you an idea of the type of crowd here.

We also called down for two extra towels one afternoon. Waited about 90 minutes, called again, waited another 30 minutes, and finally I went down to get some directly from the front desk. Then about 15 minutes after that housekeeping came to the room with towels apologizing, but of course it was too late then.

The staff was nice; no complaints there whatsoever. But because of the quality, I would never stay again and would recommend others look for something else unless you truly are on a budget and just need a bed to sleep in.

Aloft Miami Bickell,
Sad to tell you that the stay here with my fiancé was the worst out of my 200+ stays with Marriott Properties. I use Marriott not only for work travel but also please and I promise to never consider this location again. I have also flagged this location within my organization as a low performing, non customer focused location.
2 days before I arrived I did the check in on the app, given the Elite Status I have achieved I requested early check in around 9am since my flight would be early. The early check in was ignored and not even expedited. In turn my bags were stored and I was force to rearranged my bookings with other events since I was unable to shower and get ready for them. The manager never called to let us know a room was available but instead I showed back up at 3pm and she said “let me check to see if a room is ready.” I would hope that at 3pm normal check in... most of the rooms would be ready for guest. At check in I requested additional lotion and soap since I fly and chose to pack lighter. This was not honored as well. I again requested each day for the entire stay but was never issued the items and was instead issued excuses on “house keeping does it”, or “must ask before 2pm,” or “we will send it up” to never arrived. Another issue was towels, the stay was for 4 days and the staff seemed to believe 2 towels and 1 washcloth was suffice for my wife and I to share. When asking for an additional 2 towel and 3 wash clothes, we were mumbled “this should of been requested earlier.”
Some other tips to help with your facility is not allow staff to open glass bottles for guest to use around the pool. The 4 kids swimming even were talking about hoe the adults shouldn’t have glass.
Lastly the dead rat that was next to the pool should be cleaned up to prevent sickness and the rain from washing its rotting body into the pool.

We checked in around 2pm and the front desk gentleman was friendly and helpful (though he had just dealt with a difficult client that was loud prior to me). He was smiling when I walked up and allowed me to sign in basically and said the room wouldn't be ready til 3pm, which was fine. The room was clean throughout and I appreciated that. We had a balcony on the 13th floor somewhat facing the beach, which was nice. Water pressure was so so, though it was hot. Only thing was that we asked for additional washcloths saturday afternoon/evening and never received them. We had to call again Sunday morning to remind them that we couldn't check out til we had a shower and couldn't shower without our washcloths. They were brought within 5 minutes. The hotel was cost effective and within walking distance to CVS, Publix and even city centre, Brickell. Definitely loved the area. The only other issue was checkout. We checked out on the Bonvoy app around 12pm. We walked to our brunch about 15 mins away. I called to confirm the checkout went through and we were leaving our car til about 3-4pm which is when we would come back from brunch. The front desk had me on hold checking with mgmt b/c he stated I had to come back to check out at the front desk. After waiting over 8 mins, another rep came on the phone and reassured me I didn't have to come back and physically check out at the front desk. And he reassured me I could leave my car at the hotel til we got back. Overall, great experience and would stay here again.

The hotel is in an ideal location close to many things however it smelled musty, the rooms are average, cleaning done every 3 days (this must be the new thing as it happened at another location as well). I would not recommend it.
Advertising stated breakfast and that was not accurate. Parking said $15 a night however its $25 as valet is the only option to park. Things should be advertised clearly and not try to false advertise and make it seem like its a new arrangement. Would not recommend anyone to stay there.

You would think this hotel is going to be a nice stay but on the contrary it is a nightmare. House keeping every three days without them announcing it to you. An air conditioning system that would humm all night and loud people smoking weed all over the hotel. Even though on my first stay I got an upgrade because of my complaints and the staff was generally nice, the room was in a pretty bad shape, lamps and phones not working and drapes torn off the ceiling. Internet went down for a whole day. At checkout they included 10 days of valet parking (254 USD) and I didn’t even have a car. Requested refund and new billing on the 27th of April and I still haven’t got an answer. The 100 USD deposit has not been reversed on my card either. Unfortunately I had booked in advance for another week and now I have been charged another person’s deposit for an amount over 500 USD plus my new stay on another card. Arrived at midnight and have been expecting a solution on the card charge for over three hours, there is no manager in charge. Now I am missing 854 USD and no solution in sight. Do not stay in this hotel.

Disappointing. Cleaning was only every 3 days due to Covid - which was clearly an excuse considering many staff didn’t even wear face masks. Why stay at a hotel when you can’t get your bed made and room cleaned daily? Might as well stay at an airbnb. When I requested fresh towels, sometimes they appeared sometimes they never did. Any towels we got were almost always threadbare and scratchy like sandpaper. My hallway (floor 9) consistently smelled like marijuana. The morning valet, Pierre, was abrasive and rude. I complained to the front desk and the agent simply laughed and said “that’s how he is in the mornings”. I came back a few minutes later after he was rude again to clarify that it wasn’t the mornings that were the cause but rather him. The front desk agent’s smiled faded and she didn’t have anything to say. It’s well located and the best price for brickell, which is why they get away with these issues.

Pros: This hotel is at a great location--just steps away from the metro, metromover, Publix, pharmacies, coffee shops, bakeries, Brickell City Center, and Little Havana. Awesome amenities with a small gym and small outdoor pool.

Cons: The coffee provided in our room was all decaf and I thought it was outrageous that it costs more than $3 to use the espresso machine in the lobby (which didn't include milk). The drain in the tub was clogged up and water drained very slowly. There are only two elevators so when one breaks down (which happened during our stay), all the guests and staff are relying on a single elevator for 14 floors. The air conditioning unit was noisy and kept us up at night until we got used to it.

The cleanliness was laughable. Actually disgusting. It was clear they hadn’t swept the floor in multiple stays. The corners of the room were full of crap and most importantly there were long hairs and fake eyelashes all over the floor by the bed. And a clump of hair in the shower that did not belong to me. I will never stay here again. If a Marriott representative is reading this I would love to speak and discuss a credit of sorts to my account and also I think you should have a discussion with this place because I can’t imagine a place with such low cleanliness standards (especially coming out of a pandemic?) would help your reputation.

There’s a FedEx on-site. I had an Amazon delivery to the hotel, and I was charged a small fee for it from the FedEx office. I think the fee depends on package weight.
