Detailed Reviews
We are Miami locals and stayed at this Hampton Inn because of its proximity to our house which was being tented for termites. We were not expecting much as the hotel is not located in one of the more fashionable areas in Miami. We were pleasantly surprised by the immaculate condition of our room and the hotel in general. The bedding was in excellent condition and afforded us 2 nights of comfortable sleep. Morning breakfast served from 6-10am was more than adequate and highlighted by fresh berries. We found the staff to be very pleasant and responsive the few times we interacted with them. Pricewise, this hotel is an excellent value given that Miami hotels typically are in the $400-$500 range or even more.

Hotel's Favourite
The Hampton by Hilton in Coconut Grove (Miami, FL) was fantastic. Great staff, great price/value, clean room, comfortable bed. The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition and having coffee and free water available all day was a nice touch.

We recently stayed at the Hampton Inn by Hilton Miami-Coconut Grove/Coral Gables during an unexpected and challenging period in our lives. Despite the circumstances, our experience at the hotel was mostly positive, thanks to the exceptional staff and their efforts to make us feel at home.
A special thanks goes to Flor, whose kindness and attentiveness made a significant difference in our stay. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and that our two young boys felt welcomed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for us.
The hotel itself is conveniently located near a train station and US1, making it easy to navigate the area. However, it's worth noting that the property feels a bit outdated and could benefit from some updates to enhance the overall guest experience. The amenities are somewhat basic, but the location and the staff's dedication more than made up for any shortcomings in the facility.
One area for improvement is the need for a more linguistically diverse staff. With guests coming from various backgrounds, having team members who can fluently speak both English and Spanish would greatly enhance the guest experience, ensuring that all visitors feel understood and well taken care of.
In these trying times, the human touch matters more than ever, and we are grateful to the Hampton Inn by Hilton Miami-Coconut Grove/Coral Gables staff for their support and hospitality. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed and have indeed made a significant impact on our family's journey to recovery.

I stayed at this hotel in December, and while I usually rely on Hilton properties for a clean and comfortable stay—not luxurious but dependable—this location unfortunately fell short of expectations. See pics attached.
To start, the rate was $180 including taxes, which is quite high for a Hampton. For comparison, I stayed at the Hampton in Dadeland in October, and everything was great there. Here’s a summary of my experience during this stay:
Room 627: When I first checked in, the room was not clean. The bedding had visible makeup stains, and it was evident that the room hadn’t been properly prepared. I reported this to the front desk and requested better cleaning for the following day. It wasn’t a huge issue initially, but I do expect a clean room that feels properly inspected. I decided to wait until the next day, hoping things would improve.
Bugs in Room 627: The next morning, I discovered bugs in the room. I’m not sure what type, but I have video evidence, trip advisor will only allow me to add pics. Naturally, this was extremely concerning, and I immediately requested to be moved to another room.
Room 310: Unfortunately, the second room was also disappointing. It had visible blood stains and hair throughout, which was completely unacceptable. Given the bugs we’d already experienced in the previous room, this added to our stress.
Urine Smell in Room 310: After turning off the AC in Room 310 during the day, I returned in the afternoon to a strong urine odor emanating from the carpet. The smell was overwhelming and made the room very uncomfortable to stay in. It resembled the smell of a dirty diaper and was impossible to ignore.
While the front desk staff was professional and courteous, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being perceived as a “complainer.” However, bugs in a hotel room and the smell of urine in another are not minor issues. These are fundamental problems that should not occur at any hotel, especially not a Hilton property.
It’s worth noting that the staff made some efforts to address the situation afterward, but it felt like too little, too late. At the end of my 7-day stay, I still paid $800—around $100 per night—which is fair for this type of hotel, but there was very little compensation for the stressful experience.
If you’re paying more than $150 per night here, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Also, while many reviews mention this property is “new,” I found the furniture, carpets, and even the breakfast/lobby area to feel dated and worn. The reviews seem inconsistent with what I observed, so take them with a grain of salt.
Hilton properties are typically reliable, but this stay didn’t meet the brand’s standards. I still feel itchy and uncomfortable after switching rooms, and I hope management takes these issues seriously to improve conditions for future guests. If cleanliness and consistency are important to you, I suggest considering other options in the area.

Dear CecilyB1980, First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for choosing the Hampton Inn by Hilton Coconut Grove/Coral Gables during your recent stay in Miami. I'm saddened your stay with us didn't live up to the expectations. However, I'd like to clarify a few points: Our rates are very competitive withing our market, but they do change due to demand and time of the year. For example, our rates for October would not be the same in December. We found no evidence of makeup stain on sheets nor odor in the room and the stain you found wasn't blood as I discussed with you while you were on property. Nevertheless, there were issues which I feel we addressed and resolved promptly as your satisfaction is our number 1 priority. Cleanliness is something we're known for, so I assure you this is not the standard in our hotel, and I've taken steps to ensure they don't repeat in the future. I'm glad the service provided by the staff was the bright spot of your stay. We hope to have you back as our guest in the near future so we can demonstrate the true Hampton ambiance we work so hard to maintain at our hotel. Best Regards, Damian Gonzalez General Manager

Comfortable room. Breakfast with many options. Negative points: They warned that the cleaning of the rooms would be done every 3 days. And that the beds would be made and toilet garbage collected daily. But that didn't happen and we had to complain 3 x .
On the day they did the cleaning they did not replace the soaps and makeup clothes.

In most respects, this is a standard Hilton property, not that that’s a bad thing. Our room, a one king bed deluxe version was spacious enough, although somewhat dark due to the quite limited outside light – maybe due to hurricane exposure? Note that there are few upscale restaurants nearby; best to have a vehicle to do downtown Coral Gables/Coconut Grove, or bring your Uber/Lyft app. Mentioning vehicles, we did appreciate the security provided by the parking gate at night. The breakfast was pretty much the standard Hilton offering (including two waffle irons), but what set it above and beyond was the availability of high-quality fresh fruit (blueberries, blackberries, pineapple, etc.) and Chobani yogurt, something we’ve never seen before at a Hampton Inn – Bravo!

Ana at the front desk was so helpful and friendly! The room and facilities were very clean and comfortable! The complimentary breakfast was hearty with a good selection of hot food egg, sausage, French toast, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, mixed breads, fresh mixed fruit, cereals, etc. This property was in a safe and convenient location near the main part of Coconut Grove and not far from Little Havana! We would definitely stay here again as it’s a great value for couples and families.

Everyone at this hotel was exceptionlly friendly and polite. I was greeted with a welcoming smile and she set me up with HIlton Honors. Breakfast started early enough for me to partake (while others on this project did not get breakfast at their hotels because they didnt start until later) Cudos Hampton Inn!! :) The room was clean.

Rooms are nice and big
Breakfast is slightly varied daily and you can either eat in or take it with you which I thought was good.
Parking is $22 not $15 per night as advertised on their website which is a bit annoying.
Staff were all very friendly and pleasant.
The location is a bit further from the Coconut Grove Center than I thought so there are limited things to go and do in the evening but I would stay here again.

Dear Groovybaby1, Thank you for your recent stay and for your review. Your comments are important to us. Thank you for mentioning our complimentary breakfast, location, and friendly team members. I'm not sure where you saw $15 for our parking rate since everywhere on our site simply says (Daily charges apply) in regard to the rate. We are in a constantly changing economy and rates are always subject to change, so we don't have a set rate displayed on our website. It's possible if you booked through a third-party website like Booking or Expedia that they have an outdated rate shown but we can't edit those sites since they don't belong to us and that's why it's best to check the hotels domain site for the most accurate and updated information or calling the property itself. Even so, our $22 rate is one of the most affordable in the area in comparison to neighbouring properties. As for there being limited things to go and do in the evening, we are located about a block away from the Coconut Grove Metrorail station where for only a short walk and a rate of $2.25 per ride, you can explore neighbouring areas of our city. Some of the other stops like the Brickell station, which is only 2 stops north of us, has countless restaurants and shopping options at walking distance and connects you to the completely free Metromover station that allows exploration of downtown, the museum and art districts, and other areas. We hope you choose to visit us again in the future whenever your travels lead you back to our area, and that this info was helpful to better assist your traveling needs next time. Warm Regards, Damian Gonzalez General Manager

Everyone here was welcoming, accomodating and efficient. From the front desk, who helped us with suggestions for walkable dessert locations, to the Breakfast attendants who made sure everything was clean and refilled on a timely basis - the staff at this Hampton Inn went above and beyond.
As someone who often comes down to breakfast in the last 20 minutes I often am met with "Sorry, we are out of waffle batter" " No more eggs, sorry", etc. These attendants said "Right away" and then refilled the batter immediately.
