My feedback on this hotel is that I have enjoyed my stay here very much indeed and will not hesitate to return, as I do come to Miami quite frequently on business.
Thank you very much to all the team that made this stay so pleasant. - The restaurant for breakfast was very good (Met) and indeed the - Boulud Sud restaurant for lunch was surprising great value for money for such high quality food in a most pleasant setting - and attentive respectful service too. Thank you to both the teams.
My room 2205 was smashing. Reasonable view but most importantly great soace, decent bathroom (with good sized baatj and shower) and excellent desk and working conditions . Given a hurricane warning when I was here 26/27 September these working conditions were ideal for me because my Miami office was closed for the day. A special mention must therefore go to Elisa the chamber maid. Not only was my room absolutely pristine spotless, but Elisa herself was so helpful, taking great care to not disturb my work and conference calls whilst cleaning and yet she left my room spotless. Elisa was helpfulness and professional efficiency personified - please do pass on my thanks and appreciation to her for being so considerate.
Again my thanks to you and the entire team for making my days in Miami so pleasant - I have stayed in many Miami hotels before… you are the best by a country mile.
See you again soon!

This was my third visit to the JW Marriot Marquis Miami in Biscayne Bay and it just gets better every time. My husband and I cruise often and will choose to embark out of Miami just so we can stay overnight here. The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and anticipate every need. Andres, the Concierge, remembers us each time we visit and welcomes us back with a big smile and handshake. He is the epitome of a true Concierge and genuinely loves his job. The doorman are very welcoming, as is the front desk. The main lobby is fresh and modern, yet sophisticated. On the second floor there is a wine bar, three dining options, a business center and lounge area, along with ballrooms for meetings and events. The main location of the hotel is a plus as you can walk to Biscayne Bay where there is a nice trail along the edge of the water that takes you down towards restaurants and a ferris wheel – where you can catch an amazing view! There are many amenities here including an indoor basketball court, pool table, ping pong, air hockey and even bowling! Although my favorite place to relax is most definitely the pool on the 19th floor rooftop. There are some amazing views from the pool and it is a wonderful place to just sit back and relax. We often enjoy breakfast downstairs at Boulud Sud, I highly recommend the eggs benedict, they are the best! We have had the same server every visit since reopening from Covid, and he is great! The service here is always top-notch and the atmosphere is very relaxing. On this particular visit we were upgraded to a Bay View Suite and wow! This room is as impressive as it gets. The view of the Bay is spectacular, there are plenty of floor to ceiling windows, the living room sofa is comfortable and there is plenty of space to relax (or work). This suite also has 1.5 baths which will be great next time when bringing the whole family. When I stopped by the lobby to thank them for the upgrade Fasial (sp?) was very kind and offered to send something nice to our room! I told him it wasn’t necessary as they had already done so much to make out trip extra special, and they sent a gorgeous plate of fruit to enjoy! We will definitely be returning to the JW Marriot Marquis in Miami, it has become our favorite place to stay!

The JW Marriott Marquis Miami is a standout for anyone seeking upscale accommodations in the heart of the city. From the moment you step into the grand lobby, complete with a stunning chandelier and expansive design, you’re immersed in a world of refined luxury.
I stayed on one of the highest floors, offering a commanding view of the city streets below. While the view wasn’t particularly iconic, the sleek, modern room design made up for it. Beautiful brown wood accents, stylish decor, and a plush rug created a space that was both comfortable and sophisticated.
The hotel’s amenities are on another level. The gym boasts jaw-dropping views of the Miami skyline, and their breakfast spread is equally impressive, served with a stunning view to start your day right. The pool is chic and inviting, and the unique addition of basketball courts adds a playful, luxurious touch.
It’s not a budget-friendly option, with rates exceeding $800 per night, but if you’re looking for modern luxury and world-class amenities, this property delivers. Highly recommended for those who want to experience Miami in style.

Hotels in central Miami aren't cheap but I booked a suite for my family. There were a few quirks which is why I gave the rating. Very strangely 2 weeks after I booked it, I hadn't been contacted, so I rang them and my booking number had been booked in a completely different persons details?! The hotel location is very good, walking easily to Brickel dining areas across the bridge, and there are a number of reasonable breakfast cafes in the opposite direction for the morning. It is located in a Wells Fargo high rise building which makes another odd thing, its quite impersonal. In 4 days, my family were greeted only once (when we were checking out!) coming and going into the foyer. There doesnt seem to be a door man per se, and the valet didnt seem to bat an eyelid with guests. The hotel room itself was fine. The junior suite had good space including a fold out couch and the bathroom was large. The beds are very soft, whilst the fold out couch was very hard and was not made up despite the request pre arrival. The TV channels were good. Internet was acceptable. The hotel rooms are on the higher floors and as a result, quiet from street noise. BUT, the airconditioning in this room was very loud, and would stop and start regularly - it is enough to disturb sleep. If an overseas visitor, the Hyatt across the road or Intercontinental locations are just as good (intercontinental location looks nicer) as sometimes its hard to judge distance on google maps when booking! Another odd thing is that the hotel adds on a room tax and occupant tax of about 40 dollars each (ie 80 dollars a night). This is bothersome when you are quoted off their site a set amount and this is then added. Even more confusing is I think the occupancy tax which they say can be used as credit with hotel dining. So each night we ordered my youngest room service to this value of 40 dollars. I would rather just not pay that amount and was a bit odd. Finally on departure, they said they would email me the receipt. When I checked my email an hour later it was not their so I rang the hotel, and they had sent the receipt to some other random email which was not mine. It is quite concerning and I hope no financial details had been forwarded at any time. All in all, the hotel was acceptable, but when you are paying such an amount, I would hope for a higher standard and clarity on costings. If you are using the brightline train, its only about 5-10 minutes from the hotel which was handy and sitting on this now, I can recommend this service for transfer to Orlando!

Staff is excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Some did not speak English but made an attempt to help to the best of their ability. Rooms are completely ridiculous in the layout and function. Card key must be in holder at front door in order for the bathroom lights to work. Stupid!! The bed frame and the desk frame have sharp edges which are easily impacted when walking around the cramped room. Both of us have bruises from hitting the corners several times. The desk takes up too much of the floor space and should be much smaller and less obtrusive in the room. Whoever designed the bathroom is an idiot. One sink for a couple or a family; are you kidding? And the sink was never cleaned the entire time we were there. Porcelain sinks are easy to clean with disinfectants because they are smooth and easy to sanitize. These sinks are some stupid design with cracks and crevices that are perfect breeding grounds for bacteria. Not once was our sink cleaned our sanitized while we were there! Only one bathrobe and two bottles of water. The refrigerator is stocked with beverages and can't be used for anything like your water or medicines. You have to ask for another refrigerator to be brought up. What a pain! No guest informational booklet of paperwork explaining what the hotel has, locations and so on. Apparently, you have to waste time figuring out everything on the TV. Small breakfast area with overpriced food. Several eggs, 2 coffees, oatmeal cost $105.00. Don't waste your money. Walk around the corner to Whole foods. Room cleaners never emptied trash can and overflow piled up next to desk.

Stayed here the night before embarking on a cruise and with all of the available options, was extremely happy and satisfied with my stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived the valet staff was attentive and accommodating by explaining the steps to retrieve my car the next day, and received assistance with my bags without any pressure. The check in process with Cameron was stellar as she was helpful with questions I asked about dining, and location of the gym. The room was oversized with a full size desk, and a view of the bay (in between a couple other buildings, but could still see the water). Bathroom was huge with excellent water pressure in the shower in addition to having a full size tub. Dining at both restaurants (dinner, and breakfast) provided top notch service and delicious food with generous portions. Will definitely stay here again if I find myself in this area.

I booked a weekend here with my son so that we would be walking district to the basketball stadium. It was very expensive that weekend - $1200 per night due to a music fesitival. The rate hurts no matter what, but I can justify it when I have an experience that's wonderful. This was anything but. I checked with the hotel prior to leaving to see if there was someplace in the hotel where we could watch the University of Miami basketball game and was told there wasn't any place. On our last night there, I discovered that this was false, and indeed the restaurant had a bar area with tv's where the basketball games were playing. Only we'd already missed the game we wanted to watch due to this misinformation. Then, I discovered that the mini bar in the room was unplugged (and you couldn't plug it back in) due to COVID. When I explained that I'm a Type 1 diabetic and need a refrigerator for insulin and food, I was told that it would be a charge of $10 per night. When I pushed back, they offered to keep my $450 bottle of insulin and food in some room behind reception. They ultimately provided the refrigerator to me for no extra charge, but only after they talked to a manager. The next day, I realized that I did not know what was included in the resort fee. When I messaged the front desk, I was told that the pool and fitness center were the only things included, something that I would expect to be available absent a resort fee. I later discovered on the day of checkout that there was virtual golf, bowling, and many other things available, none of which I was told about (and I was still charged the fee). On checkout, I was then double charged for valet. They fixed it, and I went to get my car. But the valet wouldn't bring it because they said I hadn't paid for valet. After about 10 minutes of back and forth, they were finally satisfied that I'd paid and brought my car. I had a junior suite but could hear the noise from the adjacent room as if the people were right next to me during my entire stay. I asked housekeeping at the beginning of the day on Saturday to clean while we were out between 10 am and 4 pm. We got back to the room to find that nothing had been done. They immediately sent housekeeping up to clean while we were in the room and they talked on their phones and sang the entire time. So the mini bar has to be turned off due to COVID, but they could send in human beings not wearing masks with us in the room without violating COVID protocol. Makes a lot of sense. I also had asked for maintenance to fix the tv in the bathroom because it would not turn on and that hadn't been taken care of either. This is nowhere close to the level of JW and isn't even close to the level of a Courtyard in terms of service. I highly discourage anyone from staying here. I normally keep it to myself if my experience is less than spectacular, but this one was so bad and at such a high price that I had to write a review.

The JW came through for us by recognizing our bonvoy status with a corner room upgrade and bay view. We were celebrating our anniversary and they sent us chocolates. The resort fee seemed low when you compared it to the numerous benefits including a $42 f&b credit and a mini massage. Even though they were in the center of downtown we weren't disturbed by traffic or street noise.

Housekeeping is horrible. They didn’t remove garbage. I’m allergic to feathers and I asked 3 times for a hyperalgesic pillow. There was garbage in the hall. We tried to order a dessert from room service and was told that it would be over an hour before we received it. (It was key lime pie. It’s not like it was a dessert that takes time to prepare.) We couldn’t use the pool because events were happening while we stayed. We tried to eat at the restaurant and left after being ignored for 25 minutes. Overall I came away with the impression that the people who work for this hotel are unhappy and do the bare minimum. For the price there are much better places to stay.

It is a upscale modern entrance with friendly front desk staff and exceptional concierge customer service. However we were highly dissatisfied with our Bay suite room, so much so that we had to come downstairs to request another room that wasn’t outdated and furniture, dilapidated. The floor had stains, some ketchup , some white stains, and they were crumbs in between the couches. The living room center wood table was visibly and expansively warped. The mini kitchenette was not clean, and it was clear that either this room was not properly prepared or it and had no attention given to it. For the value of how much we spend, this hotel needs to purposely invest and the upkeep and modernization of its rooms. This is not something you would expect from Marriott, far less a JW. Also in using the Bon boy app on one of the days I requested our vehicle, 20 minutes later I went down and the valet stated that they had not gotten any request? I went inside to speak to Andres who was impeccably nice and genuinely cared about the issue. He made an attempt to correct the issue. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is wonderful, but we were highly dissatisfied with the rooms. Bathroom was not clean and had soap scum where you put the shampoo and other products to rest. Toilet seats wobbled and were not sturdy and the tile had watermarks stains.
