Traveling to South America 🌎 or Europe 🗺 I stop at the Marquis. Thank you Andres and see you all soon. 💃🏻✈️🌎🎉🥰✈️🗺
The hotel was excellent. The encouraged mobile check in was useless. We used it but the "mobile key" does not give access electricity in the room - USELESS USELESS. We waited 30 minute for someone to come up with a key for this (after being asked to come down to the desk to get ourselves - what was the point of encouraging mobil check in. We were told we would be give 5000 Marriott points for this, but never received them. The room in this hotel are amazing with all kinds of bells/whistles including a TV in the bathroom mirror. The breakfast was great (Marriott Elite) and we also enjoyed the restaurant downstairs. The pool was stunning but it is shaded so not the warmest place. This hotel would be a "5" with a more service oriented staff and a mobile check in process that actually made life easier.…
The Marriott continues to live up to the level of expectations when it comes to superior face to face customer service. I had a problem with my online reservation to which I attempted to resolve before my arrival, to no avail. However, upon arrival, the person at the check in desk, SUE, listened carefully to me, worked with me, and promptly resolved my issue. Service of this quality is what keeps persons like me coming back to your Brand. Just excellent!
We have just left the hotel after a 10 day stay. We were there for a conference and not looking forward to our stay having read some of the negative reviews. However, our experience was excellent and we highly recommend the JW Marriot Marquis Miami. Well appointed, spacious room with a very comfortable bed, 2 sinks in a big bathroom and every amenity regularly replenished. Very well situated in downtown Miami within easy walking distance of lots of good restaurants and even walking to Miami Beach was perfectly possible. Miquel from the concierge team went above and beyond to help us in every possible way both from the UK before we arrived and during our stay. Thank you very much Miquel! The bar is large and comfortable and all the staff were excellent. The food and drinks in both the hotel restaurant and bar were consistently very good quality. Quick and efficient check in and all the reception staff were helpful and friendly with any questions throughout our stay. Our room requests of a high floor and a quiet room were dealt with without an issue. The 3 day conference ran smoothly and professionally and all the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone whether travelling for business or leisure.…
I booked a weekend here with my son so that we would be walking district to the basketball stadium. It was very expensive that weekend - $1200 per night due to a music fesitival. The rate hurts no matter what, but I can justify it when I have an experience that's wonderful. This was anything but. I checked with the hotel prior to leaving to see if there was someplace in the hotel where we could watch the University of Miami basketball game and was told there wasn't any place. On our last night there, I discovered that this was false, and indeed the restaurant had a bar area with tv's where the basketball games were playing. Only we'd already missed the game we wanted to watch due to this misinformation. Then, I discovered that the mini bar in the room was unplugged (and you couldn't plug it back in) due to COVID. When I explained that I'm a Type 1 diabetic and need a refrigerator for insulin and food, I was told that it would be a charge of $10 per night. When I pushed back, they offered to keep my $450 bottle of insulin and food in some room behind reception. They ultimately provided the refrigerator to me for no extra charge, but only after they talked to a manager. The next day, I realized that I did not know what was included in the resort fee. When I messaged the front desk, I was told that the pool and fitness center were the only things included, something that I would expect to be available absent a resort fee. I later discovered on the day of checkout that there was virtual golf, bowling, and many other things available, none of which I was told about (and I was still charged the fee). On checkout, I was then double charged for valet. They fixed it, and I went to get my car. But the valet wouldn't bring it because they said I hadn't paid for valet. After about 10 minutes of back and forth, they were finally satisfied that I'd paid and brought my car. I had a junior suite but could hear the noise from the adjacent room as if the people were right next to me during my entire stay. I asked housekeeping at the beginning of the day on Saturday to clean while we were out between 10 am and 4 pm. We got back to the room to find that nothing had been done. They immediately sent housekeeping up to clean while we were in the room and they talked on their phones and sang the entire time. So the mini bar has to be turned off due to COVID, but they could send in human beings not wearing masks with us in the room without violating COVID protocol. Makes a lot of sense. I also had asked for maintenance to fix the tv in the bathroom because it would not turn on and that hadn't been taken care of either. This is nowhere close to the level of JW and isn't even close to the level of a Courtyard in terms of service. I highly discourage anyone from staying here. I normally keep it to myself if my experience is less than spectacular, but this one was so bad and at such a high price that I had to write a review.…
We stayed here the night of March 15 When we missed a flight out of the airport. I will say that everybody was very friendly however I do believe for the price of $770 roughly including breakfast it could be much better. There were two of us yet there was only one bathrobe in the room. There were plenty of towels but there were absolutely no washcloths, there were no slippers, the wet bar was closed supposedly due to Covid, but they could’ve easily just left a refrigerator there for people to use. I did not think the bathroom shower was very clean at all as is indicated by the picture that I am attaching. Overall I would not stay here again for anywhere near the price that I paid.
My partner and I stayed at the hotel in March. We talked to Andres, who is the head concierge, and he took care of us amazingly well. He was really thoughtful and even upgraded our rooms, gave us complimentary internet and provided a nice bottle of champagne and macarons in our room as well. The experience really made us feel special and taken care of. Overall, it was a great experience and stay in Miami!
Wouldn’t have stayed here but had a ton of Bonvoy points to use up. I think I would’ve been better off paying over at the Mandarin. Checked in at 12:30 AM (after midnight). Two gentlemen at the desk; one was engaged in a disagreement of sorts with a disgruntled guest and the other one just looked at me and said give me your ID. I always hand my AMEX and my ID at the same time and first gave him my AMEX and he again said I need your ID. The whole interaction was nothing but the ID :-) that was literally the only thing that he said the whole interaction. The valet outside was nice but he likely doesn’t work for the hotel- likely a contractor There was a cleaning person that was doing the lobby floors that had a cord that was about a half an inch round thick and my three heavy Rollies with my injured arm couldn’t get up over them and he could care less- just looked at me as I struggled on two different occasions. Woke up in the morning to a broken coffee machine; had no idea where anything was in the hotel (concierge lounge etc) or what the titanium benefits were because the front desk person the night prior said nothing to me other than give me your ID. :) Will never ever stay here again and I recommend you not either. BUT- There were three good staff members first off the valet upon arrival; didn’t get his name but he was very nice, also Paula the operator was excellent and I spoke with her many times when calling the hotel from afar and from within the room. And then Salvador the Bellman- very friendly and personable.…
I stayed at the hotel recently and the service was horrible! I booked the hotel a month or so in advance, with specific requests because I was planning a bachelorette party. We booked 2 rooms with two beds and asked that they be conjoined rooms or at least on the same floor. We didn't get that all. The front desk staff had a very unwelcoming attitude about it. And, when arrived one room wasn't even ready! We arrived WAY after check-in as well! I also had a package sent to the hotel for the bride and when I attempted to give the concierge the two names on the package, they insisted on looking by the tracking number. So I gave them the number and they couldn't find it!! When the concierge attempted to confirm that I sent the package to the incorrect address, I stated the correct hotel address it was sent to and he said, no then REPEATED WHAT I SAID! Then proceeded to man-splain how packages are delivered to the hotel. So, after 20 minutes of waiting for them to look for my package and sending 3 different men, I said "Let me write down BOTH names and you look by the name because the tracking number is not working." Then they came back with my package. If they would have let me speak and write the names down initially, it would have been a MUCH smoother process. Instead, they were speaking to me as if I didn't know how mail works! We went the pool and it is nice, but it doesn't get much sun because it is blocked by all of the buildings. Not worth it. The valet staff is mediocre. They car was parked fine and we were ok with 55 dollar fee, but they were not communicating clearing with us. Do we leave the keys with you, or pull up? Be direct. The room service was fine and the housekeeping staff was efficient. Other than that, I wasn't impressed. I would not recommend this hotel at all.…
I booked the prepaid rate totaling $1000 for two nights nights stay at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami; however, the day of my trip I got notified by American Airlines my flight was canceled. After calling both the hotel and filling out a claim, I was notified my deposit would NOT be refunded. In the email they said as a Marriott Gold Elite member they value me as a customer but with the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami unwilling to even work with me on a situation that was out of my control that shows you how much they value me as a customer. NEVER book a prepaid rate, the savings are marginal and the risk is huge.
