I didn't realize this wasn't a hotel, but a building where either people rent or purchase condos, and some of the condos are used for a hotel. I was under the impression this was a full on hotel (my fault for not investigating more). We had full contactless check-in... for real! I never saw anyone. Everything was done via text. Funny, I'd been playing a puzzle game with my kids on the Nintendo Switch, which I think actually helped with following the needed instructions to check in -- enter the building at this location, enter the code, go to floor one, at the kiosk check in, a key will pop out, return to your vehicle, etc...). I felt like I was doing an escape room. I should mention that pre-checkin included a "background check" I didn't know about until I was driving to the hotel from Orlando. Maybe this was mentioned somewhere and I missed it. I'm sure it wasn't that thorough as my social security number was never given, but that was a bit odd, but I did kind of appreciate it as a guest wondering about the other guest. It just kind of threw me and I was thinking, "What kind of place is this?" Anyway, hotel staff was always there to answer questions, and quickly, via text. So whereas I never saw anyone, their presence was felt. Parking was cramped! Don't come with a big truck. We had a minivan. We managed, but ugh. Hotel rooms was super nice, I will say. Beds were AWESOME! I slept great. Kitchen was clean. There were little gnats flying around though... a lot of them! I kept meaning to grab some vinegar and sugar to make an easy trap for them. Not sure how or why they were there, but yeah, there was that to deal with. Washing machine was LOUD. It just needed a better door to dull the sound. I was trying to do laundry late in the evening and I had to stop, too loud for sleeping kids, and I'm serious about my laundry on vacation. We normally stay at resorts with washing machines, because kids are getting into everything and sand and more blah. So the big let down for us was the pool. I'll admit, the pool was really the only reason we picked The Guild. My kids were sooooo excited about it. We went one evening around 8 and unfortunately an entire group of young adults that most likely lived there were in the hot tub drinking and cursing A LOT. My youngest wanted to sit in the hot tub and sat furthest away from the group... you'd think they would have stopped, they noticed him and mentioned it, but no one stopped. My son got scared and told us he wanted to go back to the room and never went back. My oldest stayed a little longer, then wanted to go because he didn't like it either. They were rowdy, yelling, cursing, drinking. The atmosphere was really horrible, and what can you do about it? No hotel staff on site. What a let down for the kids :( Anyway, The Guild is a nice place, it reminded me of stays in Europe. Unfortunately we won't be back. We come to Miami a lot to visit my MIL who has dementia. We used to stay with her when we visit, but we can't right now. Lately we've been checking different hotels in hopes of finding that one we always come back to. We had high hopes this would be it. Unfortunately it just wasn't for us... MAINLY because parking was cramped, driving to the hotel was a *B*ear (okay, driving downtown Miami in general is a *B*ear), but mostly the pool situation.…
Overall this was a wonderful stay and the Guild had a really nice vibe. Our apartment was spacious and clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pool was beautiful and not too crowded. The standout part was the service - the staff were excellent, very communicative, and there to help with anything we needed. I highly recommend it!
Really enjoyed the stay here. It was very clean, comfortable, convenient and close to everything. Noise levels are important to me and it was a very quiet and peaceful stay. I will stay again and recommend to both family and friends.
Were currently staying at The Guild's location at the X Miami building. The building itself is great! They have fantastic amenities including a beautiful pool and gym, a great WeWork like workspace area, a cool coffee shop in the lobby, etc. The decor is modern and overall the spaces are very clean. Our room is rather small and dark but overall it's clean and the bed is comfortable although firm. My biggest complaint about the building is that the crowd is young and absolutely no one wears masks. There are signs throughout the building enforcing mask rules and residents will happily get into an elevator 5 at a time with no masks. I've even found that multiple staff members are walking around maskless. Unfortunately, if you're looking for somewhere COVID safe this is not it. I've been to other buildings in Miami who have stricter COVID rules and one building was enforcing a $100 fine in their gym if you entered maskless. Absolutely no one wears masks in this gym and it is VERY UNSAFE. Something to think about before booking.…
Very interesting place, most apartments can be rented as permanent residence and some apartments are used for hotel so interesting dynamic between people who live there and just staying. The amenities are great, and the aesthetics are definitely up there... very beautiful architectural designs and functional workplace areas. Rooftop pool is big and nice, the gym is AMAZING, reason why I stay here. It is close to everything the apartments are updated and makes you feel like you live there. very clean also. Highly recommend.
