The hotel is a heritage property that feels quaint and charming, very lovely for a 5 star hotel stay. The staff goes out of their way to ensure you have a good stay, we had a great time there for my parents anniversary for which they gave us a cake and decorated the room on their own accord!

We chose Shivavilas Palace in Sandur for our trip to Hampi. Although the drive to Hampi took us almost 50 minutes one way, we don't regret choosing this beautiful palace turned hotel. The room we occupied was well decorated with everything needed for a good comfortable stay. The room was clean and the bathroom with its lovely high ceiling and natural lighting was something we particularly liked. The attached sitout was another attraction. The service was quite good, the staff courteous and prompt. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the town. Food, too, was good. This was a trip we took in times of a pandemic hence, we had to choose a hotel with a lot thought. As guests it made us feel comfortable when we saw the staff in masks. In such times that's the need of the hour. Our

This hotel has lots of character if you value history and heritage over typical standard chain hotel designs..very spacious rooms with great antique furniture, private veranda sit outs and friendly service. Loved the collection of old books in the library, the sprawling green grounds and the vintage car display . The kalakendra ngo nearby for handcrafted items was a great recommendation by the front desk too. Cons: distance from Hampi is a good hour plus so be prepared for the daily drive through mining dusty areas. Breakfast variety and food quality could definitely be improved .

Our stay in this hotel wasn’t planned. It just happened because we decided to fly down instead of driving down from mumbai and had an extra day. Since we like ITC heritage brand booked to stay here for a night. The route is very dusty and thru the mining areas. But once we reached we got a Royal taste of the kingdom of Sandur. For those planning to visit the Hampi temples from here it is an hours drive away and can be tiring. But for resting after the Hampi temples it is the best. The airport of Jindal is close by around 20 minutes I was told but the flights come in here from Bengaluru. The check in was efficient and they took us on a tour of the property. The place is extremely well maintained with highly polished floors, paintings and trophies intact. There is a functional

We were made to feel very special in this former royal residence. The hotel is full of mementoes from the past- a library of old books, cabinets full of ornaments, a billiard room full of stuffed trophies. The food was excellent and served either in the restaurant, the beautiful inner courtyard or outside. We were lucky enough to eat in the gardens by the stunning pool, the meal accompanied by traditional music. The trip to Hampi took 40 mins each way but the quality of the hotel more than justified the daily trips in. After the bustle and dust of the ancient city, returning to the peace and quiet of Shivavilas Palace - and especially the big bathroom- was a joy. Hampi is magical, do make sure you do the walk along the river and also visit the Hanuman Temple slightly outside

We were 4 adults and 4 friends who had originally planned to stay for 2 nights but had to extend the stay by one night as the place was so awesome. Large, spacious rooms, asthetic decor, amazing pics of wildlife and nice touches that reminds one of childhood home. What really makes the place tick is the team of super efficient and patient staff. Special mention to Joseph, Praveen, Tejaswini and Biswa. Nothing was ever too much for them. Good, simple food and a lovely pool. We will definitely visit again. This was an unforgettable vacation.

We, 7 couple friends, who are regular holiday goers, visited this place based on recommendation of other friends. The stay, rooms, property, hospitality everything were exceptionally very good. The staff were so supportive that we were received very cordinally and the food was amazing. They were all cooperative to the extent that we didnot feel that we were out of our homes.

We were fully aware of the distance to Hampi when we booked. Read a number of the previous reviews as this is a key issue if Hampi is your main reason for travelling to the region. First of all we had a memorable stay here and on that basis we do recommend it. Large rooms in a tranquil setting add to the charm. Do be aware that the Palace is not about luxury or sumptuous surroundings but the ambience is reminiscent of visiting an elderly relative with whom you feel at home immediately. In all honesty bathrooms do need a overhaul but they are forgivable at the price point. Food was good value and more than satisfactory. Not sure we wil ever pass this way again but we would stay if we did for sure.

The palace looks grand when you enter. Located in Sandur amidst valleys and hills. The rooms are huge with a very big bathroom. Palace style furniture makes room quite comfortable. Food options are limited but taste is great. Staff is very helpful. Amenities wise it is less. Swimming pool is fine. But indoor games room has most of the stuff broken. Cleanliness could be a bit more in the games room and first floor balcony. They have bicycles and badminton rackets, billiards table to keep you occupied. There is a library as well. However the place is 40 km away from Hampi and it takes 1.5 hours to get there. Plus the road from Sandur to Hampi has multiple speed breakers and trucks and hence night driving is not advisable at all. All in all good place for a couple looking for

SHIVAVILAS PALACE is situated 40 km from hampi. Its gud to spent one full day in palace itself not going for sight seeing On entering into the campus u will feel like a prince. Well maintained hotel. u will get a hearty welcome once u enter the hotel. Its an old palace renovated to hotel keeping the old charm of a palace. In night when all the lights r put on it will be glowing like anything. this is the best time to take photographs, staff courtious . Rooms r big and clean. bathroom very large with all modern aminities.Buffet spread is limited but very tasty and sufficient. swimming pool big and clean. If u inform them they will show museum of vintage cars & kings private collections and weapons.. recomnd for a royal and peaceful stay.
