My husband and I were on our way back toward Dublin, on the next-to-last night in Ireland -- we were going to see Clonmacnoise the next day. Kajon House is about 2 kilometres from the historic site. Kate and Jon are superb hosts (he has retired as a professional chef) and loads of fun. Set up on the rolling country... More

My husband and I had a lovely one-night stay at Kajon House. The house was very quaint and comfortable, and we very much appreciated the tea and banana bread upon our arrival. We also enjoyed the nice breakfast in the morning. John and Kate were excellent hosts and so much fun to talk with, and I just loved their sweet,... More

Driving through Ireland, we stayed at Kajon House. Excellent and quite night sleep. Confortable accommodations. It was "super" the kindness of Kate and John, as well as the pancakes and scones at breakfast. Surely a recomendation and a coming back.

Had an amazing 3 night stay with Kate and John in July. For us Kajon house ticked all the boxes - warm lovely hosts that really care about their guests and their happiness (and especially the kids. My kids were adored and they adored Kate and John in return), a great night sleep in an excellent bed, really yummy home-made... More

We've had a lot of different B&B's but this is one of the best! The house is on a quite lonely road and you'll be in the middle of nowhere but you'll never want to leave anymore. We arrived in the evening and got welcomed with a good tea and a scone. We talked a lot, got some more tipps... More

Kate and John are incredibly hospitable and nice. The food is delicious, the conversation is wonderful, and everything about the night I stayed there was absolutely perfect. With a beautiful backyard patio and a cozy living room for late-night movies, it was worth the trip!

Kajon House was great. We were upgraded to room w King bed overlooking the Shannon River to the west. Great sunset! Room was spotlessly clean and comfy. Great breakfast. They did gluten-free cereal & toast for me tho I forgot to notify them in advance. (With notice they have gluten free sausages!). Hosts Kate & John were wonderful. Great place!

Kate and John's Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful addition to my trip! They were both funny, kind, and oh so caring! The Irish breakfast in the morning was delicious and Kate's scones are to die for! If you are going to be anywhere near Athlone, it is worth it to stay, even if just for one night!
