We stayed in Hundar Sarai camp while in Nubra in May 2022. We had a nice stay... property is clean, food is amazing & the service levels are very good. It is surrounded by mountains. Good place to stay in Nubra if you are up for staying in tents.

Staying in Hundar Sarai for a night was a unique experience. We had booked our pan Ladakh tour through Ladakh Sarai, so accommodation at Hundar Sarai and Pangong Sarai comes as part of the package.
The tent/room in the camp is very compact, it has a TV, a bathroom attached with modern amenities. Hot water is available from 6am through 8am. The camps are located midst of a stream, making it a memorable stay. Though the garden around the camp is still shaping up, it doesn't look messy to move around. The best of the stay is the food and the service of the staff. Simply outstanding it was ! Great food !
Almost 10 on 10 for this experience !!

The tents are really good quality, the bed is awesome and so is the attached washroom, it has heating facility too. Located at the base of the mountain with a riverlet running through the course of the camp.

its not too far from the camel ride area. Its a delight to have spent a night

This must be by far the most badly maintained camp in Hunder, we just got carried away looking at the pictures on the net but the tents were nowhere close to what was shown in the pictures. We reached the property at around 10.30 am to be greeted by two shabby looking boys who were the least happy or bothered to attend to us. They simply said that the rooms are not ready and told us to come back at 1 pm. On close inspection of the property we found the entire place was run by these 2-3 boys only, there was no reception no common area nothing. Just a common dirty, shabby, dimly lit dining hall. These 3 boys were in charge of everything right from checking in, carrying luggage, room cleaning and even cooking food. It was shocking to see how this camp was being run like some poor run down lodge. We left the place for some sightseeing to come back later for check in at around 2 pm when we were shown the tent. We were completely shocked to see the tent, it was filthy like hell, water all over bathroom floor, bed covers stained, blankets filthy, dust settled on all the furniture and a half broken fan making horrible noise. We asked for the room to be cleaned but to no avail. Also, in such times, we found it too risky and dangerous even to stay in such a place. We just left the place immediately. We had booked another property called Pangong Serai for the next day which belonged to the same group and were very apprehensive of the same also. So we called up the manager and fired him for putting us up in such a place and asked to adjust our deposit of Rs 3000 paid against the 1 night stay next day at Pangong. However, he was so rude, he just cancelled our booking at Pangong serai also and told us that he does not wish to host us only. Imagine, we were so badly left stranded without having any place to stay in Nubra and Pangong for next 2 days with most of the properties going full. However, we found a nice accommodation in Nubra after lot of searching called Nubra Eco Resort whose owner was like god and helped us to get a booking at Pangong for next day. Please note all the good reviews written about this place pertain to 2019 and earlier when the camp may have been maintained well. Right now it is in shambles and go there only at your own risk if you want to ruin your holiday!!

Hunder Sarai Resort has good Tent accommodation with all facilities and attached Washroom and Bathroom. It is a very ideal accommodation surrounded by Hills to take a break overnight.
The accommodation is well maintained . The staff is quite courteous and helpful.
The property has large space with water flowing due to snow melting.
The food provided here is of different variety and tasteful.
Overall property is quite good for overnight stay.

The resort is located a little bit further from the rest of the camps which is a good thing so you’re far from the noise and the bedrooms’ view on the mountains is lovely, however the place is greatly overpriced for what it is. Our bedroom was ok, they are not fully insulated so it’s quite cold at night. They provide lots of blankets but you can tell they don’t know how to make a bed as the blankets were piled on each other like a Jenga tower, it got super messy during the night with blankets falling from every side of the bed. We also had a mouse visiting us during the night and eating some of our provisions. Dinner and breakfast were nothing special. All in all the place is ok but it’s not worth the price!

We were 5 couples who stayed overnight at Hunder Sarai On may 11 having booked the place months in advance directly with hotel through their Manager Mr. Narboo Maan. These are nice small camps almost 11 in all 5 deluxe and 6 normal, they do call them by different names on different sites. Breakfast and dinner offered to us was way above our expectation having read so many horrific stories on tripadvisor about various camps. The staff were very courteous and service immaculate.. To the bets of my knowledge we had booked deluxe tents here but were given the normal ones, so only hicccup. With phones often not working here , confirmation in advance in Leh is highly recommended. They charges us Rs 2000 separately to organise a bonfire for us which lasted about an hour or so. Later we stayed in their other property called Pangong Sarai at Pangong and had the same misfortune of comfort rooms allotted to us instead of promised superior rooms. While they tried to allay our concern with the excuse that comfort rooms being smaller are warmer and the more expensive and elaborate superior rooms have mal-functioning heating which clearly seemed like an after-though explanation. Check in, Check out was smooth as customary with all ladakh sarai properties. Had it not been for the promised rooms not allotted to us and poor phone communication to resolve the same - we would have rated this property as Excellent. I have a nagging feeling that this room trick they do quite often on many as i did meet another doctor from Indore facing same issues.in pangong. Although we were also promised hot water bags in the night, none was provided, although i must admit the camps were reasonably warm. At this price, i woudl considere this anyday over Nubra Organic Retreat although honestly i wonder why do vistors come to Nubra at all. Th eonly positive of Nubra for us was the magnificent road trip from Nubra to Pangong via Shyok Village

The hunder sarai camp is an awesome place to stay overnight if you want to stay in hunder. Very close to the sand dunes and camel ride area, this camp offers a beautiful view of the snow clad mountains and to further add to the icing on the cake, the tents are very close to the rocky mountains and give a pleasant experience. The camps itself are very well miantained and neat and clean. We opted for the deluxe camp and it was nice all in all. There is a water stream flowing right through the middle of the camp and has crystal clear water. The sound of water will make you feel as if you are in heaven. Regarding the food and hospitality, let me tell you guys that ladakhi and kashmiri hospitality is at its best in whole of ladakh. The camp staff was very courteous and the food...oh my my....was delicious. The serve a lot of tast dishes from Rajma Chawal to Kashmiri pulao, Dal makhani, snacks....all hot and it seems to be a blessing in such a remote area. Also forgot to mention that we had a bonfire organized which was very nice. All in all I was mesemerized by the views this camp had to offer.....Will not write much, let the pics do the talking.

Ideal holiday break. Loved Nubra and Hunder sarai. Clean rooms, hot water, lovely food , pleasant staff , always helpful
Travelled with family along with Thomas cook . The kids loved it. Could have stayed for a few more days. Certainly will return.

Nubia is mystical, highest sand dunes probably risen from sea bed when the Gondwanaland hit the Asian plate forming the Himalayas. Simply unbelievable. Snow clad mountains surrounding sand and shrubbery along with rivulets going towards Shyok river.
