After a long day it was really relaxing to stay at this place.Mr Keshav is a excellent manager.Hospitality extended by the staff was very professional.Food offered was different,I mean some local delicacies were offered. We had a very peaceful stay.I recommend this place for leisure stay.
We stayed in Hundar Sarai camp while in Nubra in May 2022. We had a nice stay... property is clean, food is amazing & the service levels are very good. It is surrounded by mountains. Good place to stay in Nubra if you are up for staying in tents.
I wonder how can they providing very comfortable accommodation with awesome food in such a remote area. Heads off to staffs of Hundar Sarai. Everyone at Hundar Sarai was so polite and helpful which was beyond our expectation.
This must be by far the most badly maintained camp in Hunder, we just got carried away looking at the pictures on the net but the tents were nowhere close to what was shown in the pictures. We reached the property at around 10.30 am to be greeted by two shabby looking boys who were the least happy or bothered to attend to us. They simply said that the rooms are not ready and told us to come back at 1 pm. On close inspection of the property we found the entire place was run by these 2-3 boys only, there was no reception no common area nothing. Just a common dirty, shabby, dimly lit dining hall. These 3 boys were in charge of everything right from checking in, carrying luggage, room cleaning and even cooking food. It was shocking to see how this camp was being run like some poor run down lodge. We left the place for some sightseeing to come back later for check in at around 2 pm when we were shown the tent. We were completely shocked to see the tent, it was filthy like hell, water all over bathroom floor, bed covers stained, blankets filthy, dust settled on all the furniture and a half broken fan making horrible noise. We asked for the room to be cleaned but to no avail. Also, in such times, we found it too risky and dangerous even to stay in such a place. We just left the place immediately. We had booked another property called Pangong Serai for the next day which belonged to the same group and were very apprehensive of the same also. So we called up the manager and fired him for putting us up in such a place and asked to adjust our deposit of Rs 3000 paid against the 1 night stay next day at Pangong. However, he was so rude, he just cancelled our booking at Pangong serai also and told us that he does not wish to host us only. Imagine, we were so badly left stranded without having any place to stay in Nubra and Pangong for next 2 days with most of the properties going full. However, we found a nice accommodation in Nubra after lot of searching called Nubra Eco Resort whose owner was like god and helped us to get a booking at Pangong for next day. Please note all the good reviews written about this place pertain to 2019 and earlier when the camp may have been maintained well. Right now it is in shambles and go there only at your own risk if you want to ruin your holiday!!…
The place is beautiful. The camps are very well maintained and the staff is very cooperative. It is surrounded by mountains and the morning view is phenomenal. Best place to stay at Nubra valley. Highly recommended
The camps looked like a fairytale location. Having stayed already at couple of other places at Nubra I should say this place was out of the world. The camps were luxurious considering the location and getting water was such a bliss. Excellent service and the food was absolutely awesome. Overall a very good camp to choose
The resort is located a little bit further from the rest of the camps which is a good thing so you’re far from the noise and the bedrooms’ view on the mountains is lovely, however the place is greatly overpriced for what it is. Our bedroom was ok, they are not fully insulated so it’s quite cold at night. They provide lots of blankets but you can tell they don’t know how to make a bed as the blankets were piled on each other like a Jenga tower, it got super messy during the night with blankets falling from every side of the bed. We also had a mouse visiting us during the night and eating some of our provisions. Dinner and breakfast were nothing special. All in all the place is ok but it’s not worth the price!
We stayed at Hunder Sarai for one night. Great service from the staff. They were great about providing hot water for a bath in the evening, since we needed to wash the smell of camel off us. Even though there were only 3 tents occupied, they had the entire buffet dinner and breakfast up. Great fresh food. Lovely tent by the stream which was our musical accompaniment when the power was shut off for the night
Impeccable tents & extremely attentive service. The tents feel like they are literally at the foothills of the Himalayan range-hence the title-HIMALAY KI GOAD MEIN! Totally divine surroundings & an idyllic stream running through the property with a couple of picturesque bridges to walk over to the tents. The water in the stream comes from the glaciers & supplies the drinking water to the inhabitants, which is why they request us not to wade in it or sully it.A GLACIAL FACIAL was exhilarating! The heating is SOLAR with a water tank at one end of the property. On our second morning the hot water was not coming through the pipes.Felt quite bad to see that the staff carried a bucket of hot water to us all the way from the other side of the camp. They wanted to bring more but we assured them that we did not need it. Delicious breakfasts & dinners prepared. The staff were extremely courteous & eager to attend to our every request to the best of their ability. Thank You!…
Hundar Sarai has impeccable tents, outstanding view, attentive service, "really" tasty Indian food and ... a stream flowing through the MIDDLE of the property. I don't really have words to describe how beautiful this property looks at night. It's an amazing place, pretty unbelievable location.
