To be fair, we arrived at Pines and Palms after being on a luxury cruise, so this was a small disappointment. We hadn't prepared for how pricey everything in the Keys would be so value for our money came as a bit of a surprise....More
We spent our first two nights of a weeklong Florida Keys trip here. We *maybe* saw 15 other people during our entire stay....it is so peaceful. We were in Room #1, which is right next to the pool (and pool bar) and you can see...More
We stayed at this place for one night only and found a fully fitted apartment with much space inside and outside. The bar and waterfront are beautifully place and it is a joy to see the sun go down with a glas of wine in...More

While I have not stayed here I have stayed at many places in the keys. There are not a lot of real beaches in the keys...each key is basically a rock in the water. If you want shelling the west coast of Florida, particularly Sanibel, would be the place. Most beaches are created by clearing rocks and dumping sand, then smoothing it out on a grade that gets deeper the farther it goes out. Walks on any beach in the keys would be a pleasure and sunsets are outrageous, particularly when you are equipped with a margarita!
