The attention to detail made our stay at this resort a very positive experience. we have travelled fairly extensively over the last 10+ years and I have to say that the reception we received upon our arrival is one of the best experiences we have ever had. In addition to a bright friendly and welcoming smile, we were offered Champagne and provided with an orientation to the resort. The resort itself is rustic but very well maintained, the rooms clean and comfortable. The grounds are meticulous and I liked that use of these grounds is limited to room guests only; could not have visitors. Our 2nd night was a Thursday night and they had a great local singer/musician by the pool during happy hour.
This is a no frills stay with the basics. A suite, a pool (which one day was closed because they were painting the deck). We had a one bedroom bungalow with 3 people. The bedroom is not completely private but was perfect for 3 girls visiting for a wedding. We had a kitchen with a full sized refrigerator and a very small bathroom but it was comfortable. The pictures of the sand are pretty, but like throughout the island, the sand is hard and more like a dusting of sand on hard surface. The beach is teeny, tiny and the water is not inviting at all. We used the pool. Pool had a bar. No food on site, but there is a restaurant within a block or two. In fact, a great breakfast/lunch spot is right outside the resort. You order inside and eat outside but good food! There was some parking under an overhang but not much parking at all. We parked in a sort of grass field on site. We had plenty of towels and linens throughout our stay and enjoyed it. …
We went to Islamorada for some fun, sun and fishing. The Pines and Palms is smack in the middle of everything we wanted to do in the keys, yet private and did not disappoint! The cottages are cute, clean, well stocked, had excellent bedding, and plenty of room for the 5 of us. I am a Floridian, and I still was in awe of the beauty of the grounds. Lots of palms, blue water, and everything was kept immaculate. This is an old keys cottage resort, and I am loving it! They offered two fishing docks, kayaks, fishing poles, and bikes. We loved walking around the grounds and enjoying the ocean, just steps from our cottage. The office staff and the owner were amazing! Housekeeping came everyday too! Let me not forget to mention the 24 hour, 7 day a week heated pool! We had several midnight (or later) swims, and the pool bar during the day was fun and had great drinks and a happy hour! We will definitely be staying here when we venture a couple hours down to our own little paradise! It is worth a much longer trip as well if you are not from here! Come on down! :)…
I've been fortunate to travel to some nice vacation destinations over the years. But I always enjoy coming back to Islamorada and the Pines and Palms Resort. Excellent location. Extremely serene...relaxing. The facilities are clean and varied to suit many reasons for a vacation. The newer management team topped by a dynamic leader, Magda, will insure the fine future of this one of a kind place. Check it out sometime...
We are still here on day seven of our eight day stay and just as enamored with this wonderful place as day one. The tropical feel and privacy are what we were looking for. The staff could not be more welcoming or friendly. The heated pool is great, with a view out over the water and a bar with entertainment from 3-6 three afternoons per week. You can fish off the dock, walk the grounds at your leisure, and there was always a quiet spot on the beach to read a good book and soak up the view. We've already booked for next year!
