I can't say enough good things about this property. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. We didn't get to take advantage of all of amenities-bicycles, kayaks, yoga classes, beer tasting but that means we have to go back when we have more time. Can't wait!

The grounds are beautiful and private, the pool area has great views over the water and of the boats going by. The room was clean but dated, the king bed we had was two beds pushed together, it was comfortable but made noise every time you moved. The issue we had was that on their website we state that they have bar service and food service available at the pool area. Well that is a little misleading as for the 6 days we were there there was no service at all. When I ask why I was told that if guest ask for the bar to be open they will call someone and if they can come they will but if they are not available then no service. As far as food I was told that if the bar is staffed that guest can order from a local restaurant and they will have the food delivered. I had called three days before we arrived and was told that the bar and food service would be available when we stayed. They also have signs telling you if you bring your own alcohol they charge you a 20.00 fee daily. I think this information should be made clearer on their website so guest know what to expect, I feel it was a little misleading. In closing I do have to say the staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful,

Hidden gem on the water. The grounds are so green with beautiful trees and and plants. Staff is so nice and genuine. Opposite of a big resort. Has lots of charm and the rooms feel cozy and clean, like a small apartment. The king bed was so comfortable. No restaurants but a small bar by the water/pool. Location is very close to great restaurants. Will go again!

Such a mixed feeling about this place. We spent 3 nights in Shangri-La in the sea view building during the offseason of October over a weekend (Saturday-Tuesday). PROS: Beautiful waterfront location with amazing views from the island with the pool and the sea view rooms. Well done continental breakfast including fresh squeezed OJ and freshly hard boiled eggs. Limited rooms means it’s very quiet and intimate. Large room with lovely balcony overlooking water including 2 lounge chairs and a table with 2 chairs. Keurig in room, safe and mini fridge. Well functioning AC unit. CONS Room lacked a few critical items: • Stand up shower - the listing highlighted a beautiful slipper tip with a European handheld shower but it never occurred to me that meant it was the ONLY bathing option. Washing my hair was nearly impossible and created a huge mess as the hand shower didn’t have much pressure. I feel the listing should explicitly state no stand up traditional shower. • Usable drawer space - cool piece but drawers wouldn’t slide • Lighting - limited to 2 soft sconces at the night stand. Made it almost impossible to use any other space besides the bed once the sun set. Also the bathroom lighting made it difficult to do makeup. • Breakfast prep room and patio where service took place was right outside the room which meant noise started at 6:30am. Service was not very proactive. Had to call for the pool towels to be refilled daily. No ice maker on site means you can only get ice if you go to reception for it before they close at 8pm. The folks were nice but it required asking. YOU DECIDE - we had mixed feeling on these notable items The grounds are stunning but the paths and pool area are all white sand. It’s pretty and they do provide a broom and dust pan in the room for the tile floors. I don’t love dirty feet and by the end was over the sand. No matter what I did, it followed me everywhere including to bed. The pool bar was inconsistent. There are bold signs in room and at the bar that outside alcohol requires a $20 corkage fee per person. I assume this is to allow people who want liquor-based cocktails to bring them in as they do not have a liquor license so can only provide beer, wine and sake-based cocktails. It also stated no outside food or drinks. That would be fine but the only licensed employee to run the bar didn’t show up to work on Sunday so it never opened. It took guests calling the desk at 1:30 (expected to open at noon) to find this out and had folks drying off to go after off-site lunch and beverages. The bar never opened on Monday either. We didn’t care as we had provisioned by that point. We probably saved money doing it on our own but to be a “resort” and so serious about no outside items then just not open was annoying. Overall it was a beautiful location and we had a great time although I don’t know if we would have reserved had we known some of these things.

Don’t judge me, but I’ll start this review by saying that I’m lucky enough to have stayed in many of the world's finest hotels and resorts. I can honestly say that Casa Morada has everything that I could want. Good service, honest friendly people and a calm oasis away from the craziness that surrounds us every day. A wonderful opportunity to escape and recharge. I will be back.

The staff is excellent, very helpful and friendly. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained daily. The waterfront pool area is very relaxing with a comfortable hammock and stunning sunsets. The bartender is great and the drinks are refreshing. We docked our boat at the resort in a protected basin. We had the best long weekend ever and are looking forward to visiting again soon. Thanks to the staff for making our stay enjoyable.

We had a wonderful time. We have such busy lives, this was a great place to reconnect and relax. We sat by the water in lounge chairs watching the beautiful sunset. It was quiet and relaxing. There was also a small bar/eatery on the property with some nice live music- but not too loud to disturb us. We would have gone to eat there on the resort but we had already had dinner. It looked like a nice cozy place to have a drink, watch the sunset, listen to nice music and chat with other guests. There was also a breakfast buffet in the morning that was very appetizing and fresh and we chose a table with water views. The rooms were very clean and had everything you need. We were in a first floor room with garden view and even had our own lanai with lounge chairs. The folks at the front desk were exceptionally nice and helpful. The grounds are very nice with a pond/waterfall feature, places to sit and paths that give privacy. We saw a bocce court, bikes, and kayaks that you could borrow. We only stayed 2 nights and spent the days sightseeing the keys. I would love to go back and spend more time at the resort to relax and kayak. Hopefully one day I will get that chance.
