Not altogether bad, but if you are looking for a relaxing place to chill out this is not it. The Postcard Inn comes up as one of the resorts on TripAdvisor when you search for "Adults Only resorts in the Florida Keys" but this is decidedly NOT for adults only. There are plenty of families with young children and teens. There was also a contingent of rowdy young 30-something single men in attendance, which seemed to be associated with the fact that this is also a marina for sport fishing boats. Loud music is piped throughout the public areas all day and evening. So you can imagine how far from peaceful the environment is. We were woken our first morning there at 7:00am by maintenance crews very loudly power-washing the walkways outside our room. Couldn't wait until 9:00? Guess not. Bring a towel from your room if you want to swim in the pool – they run out of towels quickly at the pool cabana. But be advised that the pool area is an attraction for little kids, who tend to vocalize loudly and constantly. The food: meh. The raw bar and Tiki Bar have the same limited menu, so don't expect anything special. This is evidently not a non-smoking property. We often had to put up with cigar smoke and pot smoke wafting up toward our room balcony. If you work at it you can find a few relatively quiet places on the premises. We found one that was away from the noise on our last day but were asked to leave after a couple of hours due to a wedding event that was scheduled in that area. And of course you can always retreat to your room, but then what's the point of going to a tropical resort if you're only going to hole up in your room? Probably great for families with children, but not for adults looking for a serene vacation. …
This hotel is stunning!! We felt like we were in Paradise! Sarah Jones at the front desk was so kind and friendly! She welcomed us so nicely! She was such a big help! There are free bike rentals on site which really made it a fun trip
Aweful expierience / pool was empty first 2 days, elevator broke - water main break ( so no water or shower or restaurant open. Pool towels late because washing machines broke…& on & on & on. Not good - I called & they just left mo on hold. Nice huh ?
Pros: Beautiful grounds and ocean front; resort has potential. Tiki bar and pub grub pretty good. Upon arriving, unlimited rum punch on tap served in lobby. Cons: Way understaffed; dark and dingy room (don’t believe the pictures you see)(urine smell, mildew, broken lamp),sand in beds, mildew on curtains, stained sheets; Outside, garbage can overflowing, no towels left. Dirty pools. Water activities close down at 5 pm. People pay a lot of money a night and was not worth it at all. The grounds were beautiful but the room was like a road side in.
We stopped at the Tiki Bar for what we thought was happy hour. We each had one draft beer and decided to go somewhere else. Got our bill and thought it was a joke! $19.35 for TWO draft beers!!!! I even asked the bartender if he gave us the wrong bill. Needless to say, I’m glad we didn’t order another drink!!!!
Pool bartender did not seem to want to serve white men. After several trips to the pool bar it was clear that the bartender was not interested in serving middle aged whites. No management present at any on site venue. Room AC was uncomfortable, the bed beside AC was freezing and the second bed was hot.
Positives: Location right on beach was wonderful, had a handy marina next door, where manetees and tarpon came which you can feed etc. Negatives: Felt the reception staff not very friendly maybe because we were British, the hotel is expensive over $600 per night for a bog standard room, so you expect good service. We stayed for 3 nights, the housekeeper only cleaned on 1 night, and we had to complain as room they gave us was near the road and we had a balcony that 2 feet away were palm trees very dark and dingy. They moved us to room over marina which had a good outlook. .Very pricey for food and drink (this is perhaps the keys and not just this hotel), again service could be better they look under resourced. They shut the main pool for 1 day while we were there was had to go to their sister hotel to use Pool on beach, not overly happy about this.…
I am so disappointed in the Postcard Inn! The resort itself if nice but the customer service is amongst the worst I’ve experienced. We were asked to change rooms 4x during our stay and with two little kids, asked if we could get refunded and change properties since it just wasn’t feasible for our family. We were told we would be refunded the 2 nights (>1000k) and Rob, the area manager was supposed to help facilitate the refund. Long story short…we never got the refund, we are almost one month out from our stay, and Rob stopped responding to messages. This type of customer care is NOT okay. No one in accounting returns phone calls, the manager doesn’t return phone calls, I am not sure what else to do. I would not recommend this property if there is a possibility of making changes to your stay. :( …
Horrible customer service! These rooms were not cheap, $500 a night and our family had 4 rooms for 3 days/2 nights. Room door was off the hinges when we arrived, phone was broken, safe didn’t work toilet ran and couldn’t lock bottom security lock on the door. They refused to give us another room, stating that they were full. Funny thing was that I could go online and see they had rooms to sell and the parking lots were at least 1/3 empty. They ONLY were able to fix the safe and the door coming off the hinges. But still refused to change our room. Just didn’t care. Offered no compensation or satisfaction . Only ONE ice maker working in the entire complex. There are several buildings. Got charged a $40 a day “resort fee” yet could not get paddle boards or kayaks on Saturday morning because “they weren’t doing it “ that day!!!! Our family was there for a memorial for my late Mother’s memorial and to spread her ashes. Thanks for making our experience memorable… and not in a good way. The only place on the property that the customer service was good, was at theTiki Bar. Kudos to the bartenders! I would definitely not EVER stay there again or recommend it. …
FRIENDS JUST ARRIVED FOR short 4 day stay… SERVICE to this point barely MEDIOCRE for the price point! ROOM 237… hoping resort sees this and makes some things very right… RESORT NICE BUT if service is subpar does it really matter???!!! I booked this room for my friends…. I did a lot research before looking and am a bit surprised at a few things…. AC not working in room and friends are still waiting on extra towels… it is my friends 70th birthday celebration after fighting cancer for years .. so this is a big deal! A little disappointed that they didn’t have a room ready early… lacks of towels… and I was hoping the resort would’ve done something “special” for the birthday girl! …extra towels ESPECIALLY shouldn’t be a big deal … when you are paying $$$$ TODAY 3/8 day 4/4 of trip update! TODAY was worse than previous 3 DAYS…..it’s been horrible! SERVICE SUCKS HERE! pool undergoing maintenance for 2 days???? They tell us to go to some other place and use THEIR POOLS?? If I wanted to use THEIR pools , I would’ve booked at THEIR hotel! ELEVATOR INOPERABLE ALL DAY! Again, I picked THIS HOTEL for an elevator! I am 70 YEARS OLD AND SHOULDN’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WALKING UP 3 flights of stairs, I have pulmonary hypertension that is residual damage from CHEMO and CANT DO THIS ! SERVICE RECOVERY is nonexistent here! the resort says they will waive the resort fee, I paid $ 2000 for 4 nights for subpar service! I expect ALOT MORE than JUST the resort fee waived! What a disappointing 70th birthday celebration…. Leaving her tomorrow to go home, shame on you POSTCARD INN AND BEACH RESORT AND Marina!! I will be back in the KEYS but certainly NOT HERE!…
