I can't say enough about the quality of service and true friendliness of the staff in all areas from the check in, housekeeping, dining and the bar & grill. We've visited twice in a 2 month period and have felt welcomed and valued each time. The hospitality is exceptional! Joseliz Chaparro and Natalie were absolutely charming and on top of it in the dining room for our farewell breakfast, Ailton at the bar took such good care of us and never failed to surprise us. Lauren was hustling in several areas of the resort and taking care of business. We were delighted and have never had such a wonderful experience. We are already planning another trip to Amara Cay! Thank you all.

From front desk welcome to check out this was fabulous. Always tricky making bookings with no knowledge and tons of choice but Amara Cay looked great on all the booking sites and was better in the real We were welcomed and immediately nothing was a problem for the team. The hotel, rooms and waterfront pool, bar and facilities were excellent and kept spotless and well staffed We had a few cocktails and drinks as well as several of the bar snacks all of which were excellent and the pool and water side facilities were superb Some great live entertainment, great evening fire pits and garden games make this a fabulous Keys location and we will definitely recommend it and return if we come back, thanks to all at Amara Cay for an awesome stay

The Amara cay resort in Islamorada is a wonderful place for families. The resort has a limited beach area and access to the water via a dock. The hotel grounds are beautiful with a great swimming pool, tiki bar, fire pits and plenty of shaded seating areas. The hotel also offers complimentary paddle board, kayak and bicycle rentals. The building is a little dated but well maintained. We stayed in room 418 which had a comfortable king bed, fridge, safe and a partial ocean view. The only negative was that the bathroom was a little small with an adequate shower. We would definitely stay here again.

We had read a variety of reviews for Amara Cay so we were unsure what to expect. For us it was a great experience, we did upgrade to a suite and it was well worth it for the view. We were advised at check in that they were short staffed and it was obvious during our stay but it didn’t spoil anything for us, the cleaners appear to be doing the best they can, the grounds are well maintained, good service and cocktails at the bar, we did have a bit of a wait at breakfast but the food was good, dinner in the restaurant was also very good thanks to Justina I had for the first time Grouper cheeks and they were very tasty. All staff were pleasant and this is a good hotel with a selection of activities available and good use of outside space.

The oceanfront room was breathtaking. Staff was great, especially Dorian at the front desk who was so helpful and kind throughout our stay. I only rated 4 instead of 5 because the breakfast was disappointing (although service was great) and they were not able to provide us with a bottle opener when we asked for our room. Apart from that, everything was amazing and the beachfront location was unique. Thanks Dorian for being so awesome!

I had some pros and cons to our stay here. Pros: There was clean bedding and bathroom. The staff was always very helpful and friendly. The food and drinks were always good. I loved the outdoor area, we enjoyed spending our days by the pool and the evening by the fire pit. Cons: Being that this is an old hotel originally, our room had an adjoining room. I felt as though I was sharing a bed with the people next to us. I could hear every movement they made and every word spoken. Lucky for us- only two of our five nights had people next to us. Otherwise I would have never slept. I had to shovel towels at the base of the door to try and block a little sound. The room felt stuffy and smelled musty at times. The AC always said our room was 66 degrees (which it was definitely not since I was too warm many times) and the lowest you can set is 67. So it ran very little and felt warm often at night. I would also really recommend some touch up paint. The white walls shows a lot of marks…and there was quite a few. And the couch had some unpleasant stains- some type of wipeable material would be better suited Overall a fair stay but could use a few improvements for the price.

Very stylish and pretty hotel on the key with great amenities. Reception staff could be a bit more friendly (N.) but this was just one person.. the pool and bar staff was extremely friendly and helpful (Ailton's cocktail are to die for ). Great location if you want to eat somewhere nice and not drive a lot (Lazy days and Moe's are around the corner).. There was a wedding while we were there so while some drunken guests were a bit loud late at night overall it went really smoothly .. which says something about the hotel management (positive of course).

We have stayed at this place a fee times since Cheeca lodge increased their prices. This time was a little different. The room was a little bit musty - And it seemed like they needed to replace some bad molding behind toilet. Kind of yucky. They ran out of pool towels . But the tiki bar food was consistent and delicious as always. The bartenders were outstanding as usual.
