We just stayed for 4 days, 3 nights at the most gracious B&B in Key West. Carlos and staff could not have been more accommodating. Carlos greeted us and took us on a complete tour of the home going over all of what we would need for our stay. We stayed in Eugene's room and it

Greg And Kirsten, Thank you for posting your incredible “second to none” review of your vacation experience at The Artist House. Our entire staff (Carlos, Jessica, Helen, Shawn and Marlene) is dedicated to making sure our guests’ have an extraordinary vacation experience. It is so nice to hear that they not only met, but exceeded, your expectations. We fully understand that travelers visiting Key West have a multitude of lodging options available to them, but we feel very strongly that providing exceptional and personalized customer service to our guests really sets us apart. I dare say, there is no better nor more dedicated a group of individuals in the hospitality industry anywhere. Indeed, for those travelers looking for a more generic and anonymous vacation experience, we are probably not your place. On the other hand, for those looking for a more unique and individualized Key West vacation experience, perhaps we just may be your place. Also, as you point out, we do our very best to offer a tremendous value to our guests’ by providing a complimentary high end European style breakfast spread (including mimosas) each and every morning. We also provide a daily complimentary happy hour with meats, cheeses, soft drinks, beers and wine. Did I mention, we love to spoil our guests and want them to have a unique vacation experience? Well for those who may be skeptical, you should know that it was just not enough for us to have all this wonderful art hanging on the walls throughout our house. No, we just had to go overboard and arrange for Rick Burnett, a local street artist painter, to join us last Friday during happy hour and demonstrate how he paints a painting from start to finish. Mr. Burnett has been painting on site everywhere on this island for decades. He can be found selling his marvelous creations almost every day in the Casa Marina area of our island and it was a real honor to have him join us. We at The Artist House recognize that our local talented street artists are just a treasure and part of the very fabric of our Key West community. After all, we ourselves are named after a once prominent Key West painter, Gene Otto, and even have one of his paintings prominently displayed in our house. In fact, we are so proud of our historical roots, we will most definitely be making an effort in the future to expose our guests to more of the wonderful art that once was and is still being created in Key West. Thanks again for your wonderful review of The Artist House and we certainly hope to see you soon. — Jason and Lori Barnett, Owners’ of The Artist House

Carlos welcomed us to this charming Victorian b&b. It was happy hour time at the Artist House and a nice selection of wines and soft drinks were offered. We enjoyed our wine as Carlos checked us in and showed us around with a wonderful history of the house. We had booked three of

JeanMatl, Thank you for you “fantastic” review of The Artist House. You arrived at the perfect time, happy hour! I am sure Carlos loved to show you around the House and describe the rich history of the place. What a wonderful history, right? We are also thrilled that you approved of our “wonderful continental breakfast”, which is really a traditional style European breakfast spread. It has a little of everything, takes advantage of our local talented bakers, and is perfect for a place like Key West to get the day started. We actually inherited this breakfast spread from the prior owners of The Artist House, Jo and Ray Kearny, who have spent their entire lives running B&B’s both here in Key West and across the pond. They not only have that really cool accent that makes them sound “wicked smart”, but they actually knew what they were doing when they picked out their breakfast spread. Why reinvent the wheel, right? We only had to copy their model and double down on the mimosas and we were good to go. We even inherited Jessica (our GM), with her “wonderful smile” and contagious laugh. Have you ever heard such a wonderful laugh? It gets me every time. So thank you again for your “fantastic” review of The Artist House and please make sure to come back to see us soon. — Jason and Lori Barnett, Owners’ of The Artist House

Lucia H, Thank you for your amazingly “great” review of The Artist House. We are thrilled that you approved of the Sunroom, which is the smallest room on property. It is also the only room that is accessed from outside of the house through a steep staircase; and it is not decorated with the traditional Queen Anne Victorian furniture like the rest of the rooms in the house. However, many of our guests love the solitude and treehouse type feel it offers guests. In the near future, we are going to make some changes to the furniture in this room to make it a romantic victorian cottage feel. Guests traveling solo, or as a couple, looking for a place to stay for a day or two will be very satisfied with this room. Once we get done putting in the new furniture, it’s going to be really romantic; and we anticipate our guests will love the transformation (but the rest is none of my business). Thank you again for your review of The Artist House and we look forward to seeing you back soon. — Jason and Lori Barnett, Owners’ of The Artist House

Wow! Such an interesting house with lots of history about Robert the doll, the artist owner and his wife. We were lucky , Carlos let us upgrade to The Turret Suite, two bedroom and baths. The house is one of the oldest in Key West, built 1898. Walking distance to ocean, resta

ladonnas310, Thank you for your “great” review of The Artist House. We are very proud of our important and significant Key West history and love to share this history with our guests. In fact, it is lots of fun to share stories from our past (many of them actually true. WInk. WInk.) to guests who are unaware of the past lore surrounding our home. It’s definitely not for everyone but for those looking for a unique Key West vacation experience, we are definitely worth giving a try. As you may have noticed, most of our guests tried us out and have been returning over and over for many years. Since we purchased The Artist House, we have made a conscious effort to highlight our long, interesting and significant history while trying to enhance the property with period appropriate furnishings, decor, and paintings. We have also tried our best to upgrade our breakfast offerings, snacks and complimentary happy hour. I mean, what says thank you more than a free glass of wine, right? Answer: Two glasses of wine and free mimosas with breakfast. Done! All kidding aside, it really warms the heart to hear such compliments from our guests because our entire staff (Carlos, Jessica, Helen, Marlene and Shawn) take such pride in the house and are dedicated to making sure everyone has such a wonderful time while staying with us. Our goal is for you to spread the word, long to come back, and become another one of our multiple return guests; but don’t forget to call us directly because we will always beat any on-line advertised rate especially for our returning guests. So, thank you again for your wonderful review and please come back soon! — Jason and Lori Barnett, Owners’ of The Artist House

MillerL, Thank you for your “lovely” review of The Artist House. We have done our very best to meet the “breath-taking standard” you describe and it warms the heart to know that our guests appreciate the little details that make us a unique vacation destination. As for our staff (Jessica, Carlos, Shawn and Marlene), there is no better in the industry and this is our ‘secret sauce’ which sets us apart from the competition. These four love what they do and it shows in every respect. Lori and I appreciate them so much and they never cease to amaze us with their dedication and love for the job. Whenever you return to Key West, please make sure to call us directly so we can give you our super duper amazing returning guest discount. Thank you again for posting your review of The Artist House. — Jason and Lori Barnett, Owners’ of The Artist House

Hello, My name is Nicholas LeBlond. My wife has talked about the Artist House for years and I have been promising her a visit. This year, her dream comes true. I have booked a visit on July 6 - 8. We will be driving from Maine to Key West and will need a parking spot. And she would like the Turret Room if available... We are very excited about this trip.
What are the room rates for April 11-13, 2016? There will be two couples. Do you have rooms available?
Hello, Thank you for your inquiry however our rates and inventory have not been released at this time. Please check back with us at the end of July.
