If they had a lower star, I would have used it. After paying $16000.00 for two homes at this site, I can only say, they stole my money . We were on a construction site. From early morning thru out each day, we were inundated with trucks and yelling construction workers with saws and hammers going all day. If that wasn't bad enough, we had to move because the AC was not working in one of the houses. Then we needed to use the stove and it is induction and they didn't have the correct pans and then we tried to grill and that was broken as well. The topper was the tv. They subscribe to Samsung which is just a constant repeat of old shows, no current stations. So other than our harried concierge who tried to fix this mess, we had a miserable time. Go to the Playa Largo Resort, but stay away from this disaster. I forgot to mention, there are 40 steps up to the master bedroom, 20 to the kitchen. Try carrying luggage and groceries up !!…
Our stay was too short! We spent the day at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and booked a night here instead of driving back to Miami. The resort is beautiful--the grounds, lobby, restaurants, rooms and pool/beach area. The kids (6 and 9) had a blast. The pool and beach are very close so it is easy to go from one to the other. They enjoyed chasing the iguanas around the pool. The food and beverage service at the pool and beach are great. At the beach, there are stairs to get in to the water, so if you are looking for a sand entry beach, this isn't the place. However, at the bottom the stairs, the ocean bottom is sandy and shallow so it is great for young kids. We went snorkeling and saw some cool fish by the dock. We brought our own kayaks and there was a small boat launch on the grounds. We saw a few manatees. At the same location you could rent kayaks and they also had a large catamaran that offered group and private charters. We will definitely be back!…
Have stayed a Playa Largo multiple times and always have a great time. Staff is always friendly, but this stay I had a small accident at the beach and the staff could not have been more helpful or concerned. Their hospitality was exceptional! Sasha at the sand bar immediately assisted me and was so kind. David Desa brought me ice and helped as well. Every time he saw me that day he made a point of checking on me and seeing how I was feeling. I truly appreciated their assistance and kindness, thank you! Spent time at the beach and pool and kayaking. Always a fun relaxing stay!
Very nice place and very friendly staff. Giuseppe at the pool/beach area was great. Isle and the crew at Slo was wonderful. (Did not eat at LaMarea but heard it was great). Luckily we had great weather so the ambience was even better. Would say yes if you are considering. Looks like a great place for a small wedding etc.
Gorgeous resort! Everything felt brand new. Food/drinks at pool were amazing! Loved the breakfast buffet. Yum! Would dine out for dinner elsewhere though! Super spendy and food just ok. Beds were comfortable, room was huge and well appointed. Staff super friendly and attentive everywhere we went. We will definitely be back! Million dollar views everywhere you sit at pool & beach! We loved our time here.
WHERE IS YOUR STAFF....it seems like this place is way over hyped. No employees to be found. ANYWHERE!!! Almost like they have a secret hiding spot somewhere. But if you want to over PAY...well of course the have a front desk individual there. Overpriced..food egh..we ended up eating at a bakery by there.
Our experience at the Playa Largo Resort & Spa was exceptional from the time that we checked in to our checkout.. The staff from the front desk to the restaurants were outstanding. The grounds are beautiful and the pool & beach are lovely.
I researched the heck out of Key Largo resorts and went with Playa Largo. Regrets. I booked a corner king suite bay front. Upon arrival the vibe was great. What makes this place great are the valet workers, bartenders, and food service people. What ruins it? The dishonest people at the front desk assigning rooms. I spoke with Beth our first night as I was laying in our room. This room wasn’t a corner king suite. It was a regular king suite and around $1,000 less than what we paid for our corner king. Playa Largo knew exactly what they did when they gave us the downgraded room. I spoke with Beth and said she would refund us the difference but couldn’t give us the exact amount. Then offered us a $300 resort credit. Big whoop after almost stealing our $1000 if I didn’t notice. It instantly made me feel disgusted in the place. Our room appeared clean upon entry but once you start looking around it was not clean. Don’t even look under the couches. Fan blades were dusty, area rugs stained, lime on the bottom of shower and tile. Grout is black when it is supposed be cream. We won’t be returning because of what they did to our room assignment. It’s all in the details folks and this place doesn’t have it.…
What an amazing hotel! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, from the gorgeous lobby to the spacious and modern rooms, and the stunning view outside of the pool and beach. There is no shortage of venues to keep you entertained, they have multiple restaurants with different cuisines, multiple fire pits to enjoy by the pool or beach, live music by the pool at night, 24 hour pool. I met a couple in the bar who were there on their honeymoon and they said that this was the only hotel they found in the Keys where they felt they didn't need to leave the resort for entertainment. The staff really make this hotel shine! Nigai was great at check in, she explained the property to me and helped point me in the right direction of what restaurants would be showing the college championship game. I spoke with O'Neal at Sol and he had such an upbeat personality, he immediately greeted me and explained the menu to me there and also talked highly of all the restaurants on property. I spent a good amount of time with Matt at Las Olas because I was watching the game there. He is a true gem, I loved watching his art of making beverages and telling his stories. Paul and Kerry Ann at La Marea were wonderful for breakfast in the morning, both very friendly and helpful. Rebecca was a friendly face at check-out and pointed me in the direction to check my luggage. Brenton was the Bellman there to check my luggage and he was so funny and personable. While I was looking in the gift shop a woman came in praising Kathy for her help in finding her the outfit she was wearing, and she also assisted me in getting a coffee. As I was standing in the lobby another friendly face Isabelle stopped to talk to me and she assisted with finding a staff member for me. I had the pleasure of meeting the GM Kristine, and the Director of Sales Heather. This hotel is lucky to have such strong leadership who take pride in their property and staff. I had such a great time at this hotel by myself, and I will definitely return with my family! Do yourself a favor and book a stay at this hotel!…
Adult couples beware....There were so many things wrong at this resort, I am not sure it's worth listing them all. The check-in process was the slowest I have ever encountered. Checked in online at 10 a.m. and was allowed in room at 5:35, after standing in line for 40 minutes, multiple times. The front desk staff was almost non-existent, in person, via chat, or via phone. The pool area was as described by other reviewers - chairs sitting empty with towels on them all day while many guests were forced to sit on the ground. The pool area was infested with iguanas, which were being openly fed by guests' children, and also aggressively fighting over territory. We saw dirty diapers left both on the beach and in the pool area on the same day. There were so many young children running about the property without any supervision, I was concerned for their safety. As lovely as our room was, it was impossible to relax here. We won't be back. …
