A hard property to review. On one hand, they have many things going for them, on another hand, there are serious flows for such expensive property. In the hotel requested feedback, I rated them 7 out of 10, so this is a 3.5 stars review. The property itself is nice. It has a nice Caribbean charm from the moment you come inside. From the property itself to the staff uniform feel fresh and tasteful. Staff is very international, which is great and seems to be a strategy for Autograph hotels. Tamara at the front desk greeted us and was very helpful during our stay. I've used SNAs to upgrade the room, but there was no view from the balcony anyway. Platinum members receive free cold breakfast for two which is a nice change from most Marriott properties that do not care about it these days. Barbara - the breakfast administrator - was very helpful to find us seats in the mornings. The hotel has a club building, a full-scale water sport agency on sight, and several diners. The cornerstone of the place are lounge chairs directly facing the water. There is no beach, so the main activity is to lay down on chairs watching the water and sun. Now, why only 3.5 stars? Problem 1: maintenance. The pool that you see in the pictures everywhere was not heated and was very cold. Very few people braved the water and were mostly lying around it during the day. It supposed to be heated, but I understand something was broken all the time. The sink in our room clogged and this is not a nice thing during Covid as you do not want people to enter to fix it. Problem 2: chairs grabbing. When we checked in in the afternoon, we found a few chairs by the water which is reasonable and expected as we were late. Next morning, I went shortly after 8 am and to my surprise most of the chairs were already taken. I managed to get a couple and decided to come earlier the next day. Next morning, I was there before 8 and put towels and personal things on the chairs. When we came after breakfast, we could not find nor chairs nor personal things. Now, I've been to popular resorts around the world, but it is the first time I've seen something like this. Not only people wake up crazy early to get the chairs, but also they would throw others' things away to get them. I called security, they found things and were not surprised at all - must be happening all the time. Many of these chairs are broken and not usable, but nobody cares - again, a maintenance issue. This would be a no-story in a $100 property, but this is one of the most expensive 4-star hotels one can find. I paid with points, but the going rate was $800 plus per night. 20% tips are included everywhere and hence you have to tip over that if you really want a service. One hour paddle board rental comes to $60 with all fees - haven't seen such prices anywhere yet. Again, this property could be so much better. Had a fantastic support from Theresa, the operations manager - I never saw such a strong feedback system via email - she would check in late in the day and reply the same night. When we left something in the room, Natalie from the Lost and Found made sure we could recover the item on our way back. We met some very nice people and made friends with other guests. This would have been a wonderful experience if not for the serious shortcomings.

I was really hoping for a great vacation with my wife, not having been to the Keys before. Unfortunately, the Playa Largo resort provided one disappointment after another: We arrived in the early afternoon and asked if there was any chance of an early check-in. They said they would call as soon as a room was available. At 4pm, the official checkin time, we went back to reception as they had not called us. Miraculously, there were multiple rooms available at that time. The room we got seemed fine. Turns out it was cold. The stone floor was cold and we had to wear a sweater in the room (being January, it was between 65 and 75 degrees outside). The shower was absurdly huge, not in a good way. You literally had to get out of the water to get reach the soap dispenser and faucet. There was an overhead fan, that did not have a low setting. One night, we ate at the Sol restaurant and my wife had to send back her fish. It was literally hard. Other than that, we did not have any of the massively overpriced meals at the hotel. Speaking of overpriced, they charged $20 per day for parking, despite the fact that when I called when I was researching hotels, they said there was no charge. You don't have to pay for a bad bicycle (as that's part of your $40 per day resort fee), but you do have to pay $45 per hour for a kayak. The housekeeping service was average. They didn't replenish soap, tea or water, but they did make the bed! There's more, but the bottom line is that the place is overpriced with (very) average service.

Nice property and rooms. However, recognition of Titanium status was beyond disappointing. Waited 5 hours for room to be ready upon arrival, and when requesting a 4pm checkout (published Titanium benefit) was told by the operations manager that 12 noon was the best they could do. Given these factors will likely not return.

We spent four nights here and we were upgraded to a corner suite in the Marina Tower—a nice, convenient location. It was a huge room with a lot more space than we could use and it had a great view of the water and pool area. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have a fridge, great AC, and lots of storage. The resort was not too busy as we came after the holiday season. Every one of the staff we encountered was super helpful and friendly. That’s surprising at a resort of this size. The gym has lots of cardio equipment as well as weights and is kept cool, which is a plus. Our stay included the cold buffet, which was more than enough with yogurt, tons of varieties of fruit, cheese, lox, bagels, cereals, etc. if we wanted to add hot items like eggs and omelettes it was a $10 charge. Every evening they have an Eventide event with music and if your stay include drink tickets you each get one tropical drink. Don’t expect much alcohol in the drink, but it’s a nice perk nonetheless. We ate at the Sol restaurant a few times and liked it. We had salads with grilled fish. The only disappointment was Las Olas. The menu has sushi and ceviches. We each opted for a couple ceviches ranging from $18-$21 each. Perhaps we should have asked about the portion size first. The ceviches we’re about a quarter of the size we have ever seen in Mexico or California. My husband said it was more like the complimentary appetizer you sometimes get at a high end restaurant. They weren’t even that great. Despite the ceviche disappointment, the staff there, Martin and Claudia were fantastic. We didn’t have the heart to say anything about the dinky portions and went downstairs to Marea restaurant for a pizza. The pizza is very good. So have drinks at Ola and go downstairs for the pizza! Overall we loved this resort and would come again if we come back to Key Largo.

My husband & I spend 5 nights at Playa Largo Resort on our annual post-holiday vacation. The resort is conveniently located about an hour from Miami Int’l Airport and is located in Key Largo. We booked a king bayfront corner suite - tons of room with a large living room area & bathroom with double sinks (huge plus). The entire staff from the valet guys, the front desk, all the restaurants, and the Sandbar servers were excellent - excellent customer service all around. Special shoutouts to Adam the Concierge (so helpful), Jessica at the Sandbar, Lesly our Cabana server, and the breakfast staff at La Marea. The resort itself is very well maintained and has a great beach area which is rare for a resort in the Keys. They have a wonderful sunset celebration every evening with entertainment. We ate at all of the dining venues with Las Olas being our favorite. Thank you to the entire staff for making our vacation a great one!
