Playa Largo Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection, is often celebrated for its pristine cleanliness, with guests regularly commending the neatness of rooms and public areas. While the resort's amenities, including the pool and beach access, are generally appreciated, there are mentions of occasional cleanliness oversights and queries regarding resort fee inclusions. Service is predominantly praised for its amicability, although some guests have experienced lapses in promptness.
Despite its idyllic location, which is frequently lauded, especially for family trips and events, the value proposition is questioned by many who find the fees steep relative to the offerings. Room conditions have received mixed feedback, with some guests pointing out maintenance issues, while others enjoy the spaciousness. The vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music, is a highlight, although opinions on the ambiance can vary, with noise levels being a potential concern for some.

Staff was great over all and the VALET’s were 5 star like the finest hotels. Rick was above and beyond! He really gets it. Rooms need a refresh. Walls painted. Chairs replaced or recovered. Carpet is filthy, based boards and dusting needs a top to bottom for this level hotel. The carpet is really not needed. They are cheap poly amd should just remove as it would not hurt decor but does over all grime of the room. Cleaning staff for shared restrooms in hotel was attentive and kept the common spaces very clean. The front desk is under staffed during busier evening times in my opinion as we were on holiday weekend. Standing in line to ask a simple question 15 minutes and two staff walked out of the office by me without saying just this. Do you have a simple need? Pool staff overwhelmed for s’mores time. He needed assistance and only help he had was helped a young woman literally dropping a box of hersheys aggressively off at the counter. The food is mid level. There was too much heavy production one sauce for every dish type preparation. Pool area food was the best for variation healthier non spicy options. They should do buffets if their strategy needs streamlining. The elite club food for morning breakfast was great and the staff here was exceptional like valets. Bottom line great staff but needs a little top to bottom on rooms with some touch up.

Beautiful resort. Clean, comfortable, quiet rooms. Safe and private. Friendly polite staff. More populated vs some of the other resorts that I have visited in the area. Everything is onsite so you can just stay and not leave and have everything you need. Pool is clean and beautiful. Beach is very clean with stairs to access the water. Beautiful water, crystal clear. Definitely seems to have been cleaned of the usual ocean life/plant life to allow a typical beach experience so not as fun for snorkel adventures but still fun—we saw starfish and small sharks, dolphin, tarpon, mullet and some crabs here and there. Lots of activities available but many are expensive. The restaurants were top notch, zero complaints, other than the gratuity already included which seemed to affect service quality. Cocktails and serving staff around the beach and pool were fantastic. Loved our time here. Definitely would consider a return trip if staying in key largo

We planned an amazing weekend for my son’s 18th birthday. With the help of Jasir my primary contact, he ensured no detail was left out. From the beautiful well maintained rooms to the Beach Cabana and a well lit fire pit to keep everyone warm during the cold time on the beach. This was our second visit and will not be our last. Santa was in the lobby upon arrival there was complimentary hot chocolate and warm apple cider. The breakfast crew, just as amazing as the first trip, sang happy birthday to our son and brought him birthday cake with his candle to blow out. While at the beach cabana for the day John checked in with us, we had treats delivered complimentary for my son and we had a waiter who would check in and we could order from the beach bar. You could pay there or charge to your room. Very convenient. John and the beach cabana crew provided superb customer service. We spent an amazing day with friends. Then we had a wonderful dinner at Sol By the Sea. I highly recommend this resort.

As per the title. I had selected this location because it was very well rated but I was disappointed. First of all, I did not correctly evaluate that the indigenous people (US) have quality standards that are much lower than Europe. This is in fact a location for families, a large resort/residence with attached services. The services provided are mediocre and not hotel-like. First of all, housekeeping does not work every day even if paid and even requested. The reception desk was a disaster (you ask and then they do nothing) The sea is a really bad lagoon area, the Adriatic sea is better and I'll leave it at that. Despite paying significant sums per night, despite being on the highest floor (2nd floor in total) the view towards the sea is covered by plants. Not even a bottle of water included in the room (crazy), no amenities or bathroom products (except in cheap containers) Still large room, furnishings not recent but well kept. Air conditioning not very adjustable but quite silent. Wi-Fi ok throughout the resort. Attention parking, although it is free, payment is required at check out for 25 dollars per night. Breakfast quite varied and of decent quality but tired after the second day. In short, the place is not worth what you paid. I DO NOT recommend.

Given the fact that there are so many positive reviews, my expectations were high but it was an awful experience from start to finish. Don’t waste your money.
The most immediate problem is cleanliness of the rooms. We stayed in a corner suite. It was dark and dingy feeling. Housekeeping visited our room 3 days out the 4 we were there. They made one bed (not the fold out), emptied the garbage cans and replenished towels. Other than that, no actual cleaning took place. The 4th day, no one could be bothered to clean our room. We needed pillows and blankets for the fold out bed. It took 3 hours of begging and my husband carrying them go the room himself to finally get them.
The pool deck was overly crowded. Couldn’t get anyone to take my order or even give me a menu. There whole aquabana rental system was a joke. Some had to pay to use the space, while others got a free pass to sit. Seems that they don’t want kids on the structure so they single out families with young kids and kick them off yet or charge them $300 a day to “rent a cabana”, yet, they allowed a bunch of older teens to take over our space with out paying. Also allowed families with grown kids to sit as long as they wanted. This structure is also … wait for it… dirty.
Restaurants were just as much of a disaster. Made a reservation at Sol days in advance, as directed by front desk. When we arrived we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated, whitenesses staff being yelled ant by a manager, then our party of 5 was given a table for 4. When I mentioned that we had 5 people and would need more plates, an placemat and silverware, they acted as if we were soooo annoying.
The front desk staff just throws out ideas to make up for the fact that things are a disaster but don’t keep their word. Ex: I was given $200 in resort credit only to be given $100. I was told I would get my resort fees back to make up for no housekeeping. I was told I would get 50% off of my room to be told later that the 200+100+a parking fee was the 50% off . Horrid communication. Front desk staff also seems to have no clue what is going on with housekeeping.
The best thing about this resort was the ability to paddle board and kayak on site. Staff there was great, helpful and patient.
Think twice about this resort, especially if you have young kids.

We had been eyeing this resort for a while and this summer we got to try it
The best first, the rooms are really nice - those are pure 5 stars, large and clean and luxurious. We got service early every day and the housekeepers were very sweet.
But I am sorry to say that the resort feels more like a holiday-packaged place than an upscale hotel.
The pool area is open for day guests. Which makes it overcrowded with people that with a drink in hand never leaves the pool. We know what that means.
The pool is ok if you get there in the morning, but after 11am it gets murky and feels dirty.
The drinks are served in cheap plastic glasses and are ridiculously overpriced. We came here just before staying at The Seagate in Delray and even though they are at the same price point there was a world in difference.
I can only recommend the management at Playa to visit the Seagate to get some tips on how to run a beach hotel.
The Seagate Beach Boys and girls there would give the most amazing service and bring you cold drinks served with care. They would make sure to lay out your lounger with towels and make sure that you were covered from the sun. We tipped them accordingly with all the money we saved at playa as we did not feel the urge to use any money there with the quality of the food and service. Again the playa would make a lot more money if they put a little bit more care into the offerings.
Again you would not get a chair with shade if you came later in the morning - they were all reserved. Yes like a cheap Spanish resort.
The fitness center never had any water bottles in the morning I guess they only stock them later in the day.
We did se a manatee at the beach swimming by, so that was a treat.
It is a beautiful place so really sad that they have decided to let so many people inside. I would recommend to build more pools they have the space for it. That would greatly improve the quality of the place.

Thank you for taking the time for giving us your personal feedback on your stay at beautiful Playa Largo. So great to read your accommodations were up to par with your expectations and that our Housekeepers filled your needs. Our Resort does offer limited ResortPass guests, like many other Resorts for locals to enjoy our amazing 14.5 Acres. Our drinks are served in Ocean Friendly Plastic in hopes our contribution to help our Oceans survive the rough times we are experiencing. Glass is not allowed on our pool deck so that accidents are lessened by having broken glass on the floors. Our apologies for not meeting your expectations from your previous stay at a different Hotel. We can only hope you give us the opportunity to welcome you back at Playa Largo so that we are able to redeem you as our guest. Please let us know if we may assist you in any way if your plans ever bring you down South. Island Wishes,

So much potential but just not hitting the mark. Agree cleanliness of rooms and public spaces/restrooms was a real issue. Paid for upgraded room and placed in smoke filled, dirty room next to ballroom. Moved. New room had similar disrepair to other recent posted pics but clean at least. Large # staff but not attentive- 2 x 6 hour at poolside and not once asked if staff could get us drinks. Sat for long periods at restaurants without assistance, even though very empty. The free "sample drinks" at pool were not seen or offered at all during our stay. Music was in all spaces, way too loud, and at times there were 3 or even 4 different genres competing with each other. Yikes, not relaxing (which consulting firm made that suggestion?). The eventide singer at outdoor bar however was fabulous! Keep him. Food choices limited but all very fresh and lovely, that's a plus. Dog friendly which is great if you love them but would've been very annoying to hear the barks and squeaks at all hours day/night if you did not. Wifi in the resort is spotty, often could not get it in the room. Staff not willing to enforce the no smoking policy in or outdoors which meant we had to leave beach/pool areas due to this - not acceptable. Even after asking multiple times for them to address it. Lovely pool and beach is small but nice. Sadly little to do when leave the resort so would only stay at reduced rate for 1-2 nights. Oh, the spa services were excellent as well and not too pricey. The widely touted Marriott service program does not seem to be in place at this location. Would really love to see these issues tweaked as the resort has great features.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your personal opinion on our Resort. We apologize we missed some opportunities to make your stay a 5/5. We would love the chance to welcome you back to rectify some of the issues you encountered. Thank you for mentioning Eventide and one of the many singers we have every night for our Sunset Celebration. It really gives our Pool, Beach and Sandbar area a total Island vibe for our guests to enjoy. Happy you were able to get Spa services as we are proud of our Ocean Spa and how well they cater to our guests. Most of the beaches in the Florida Keys are non excitant due to the coral that surrounds the Keys. We at Playa are fortunate to have soft white sand which we import in order to give our guests a Beach fell even though we are in one of the many Keys of the Florida straights. Thank you again for taking the time to write this review in hopes we get to Welcome you back and give you many Playa memories. Playa wishes,

We had a bay king side suite which is perfect if you have kids. Bedroom had a door and it was very spacious. Overall, the room and hotel was very clean and spacious.
Kids enjoyed fishing off the dock, s’mores at night and activities throughout the week. I thought the resort fee was high in that you had to rent paddle boards and kayaks from a third party and there was t enough amenities (pool floats, fishing rods) to go around when there wasn’t a time limit. Everything is first come first served so you have to be comfortable asking others to share. If I had one complaint, it was that there was a broad first come first serve with chairs. This isn’t uncommon but many resorts will limit the number to 2 per room, or if they remain occupied after a certain period of time, they are cleared by staff. Some people were not afraid to take advantage and staff is not inclined to assist.
Bar service was entirely dependent upon the server. Some were great and others were not, but generally good service.
One huge shout out to Sandra, who works the pool and beach. I have never seen anyone work that hard making sure activities ran smoothly. We loved her!
Make sure you enjoy the Evertide celebration at sunset!

While the amenities are nice, the level of care shown for guests here is subpar. Playa Largo’s apathy was clear before our stay even began—the manager, Cassie, was decidedly unhelpful when our travels were impacted by the mass Southwest flight cancellations. I had paid in advance for the room, and called 4 or 5 days prior to the reservation seeking to modify our stay by one day. I was told there was no availability in their system, though I could see availability online. I asked that she refund me so I could put the same funds towards the available room I could see online. She refused, saying it was their “holiday season” so no refunds are available less than 7 days prior to check-in, no exceptions…happy holidays. The room was nearly $700/night, so we pulled some strings and found a way to make the original reservation work. On arrival, the desk assistant, Debbie, was engaged in an argument with a guest over the speed with which the resort staff could resolve the guest’s complaint. At the pool there were towels on every chair, though it became clear many were from guests who had left hours prior. In the hotel there were signs for vending machines that did not exist. In the room, the toilet paper was cheap while the in-room snacks and drinks available for purchase were expensive. At every turn, the we could see the resort’s lack of concern for our comfort and enjoyment. We won’t be back.

Stayed 3 nights to attend a wedding. The hotel is relatively well kept with a beautiful pool and grounds. There are steps that lead into the ocean. A very nice touch. Food and drinks are very expensive though and aside from the taxes added to the room there is a $45 resort fee per day. Apparently since covid you have to request that your room be cleaned daily which can only be done by a phone call. I have never encountered that policy. Both valet and personal parking. Very pleasant and accommodating desk agents. Kid friendly. You will like this place.
