Good pools, love the salt water lagoon- it was great practice for our snorkel trip. Kawama is located off the main drag so there’s no noise from the road, but it’s close to a lot of great restaurants. The tower is clean and there’s security without being cumbersome.
Norman Wartman is con. I rented one place and got another. Told me the one I rented was sold and that this was the same. Not even close! It was filthy, dated, not up to code. Furnishings, appliances and decor from 1960. Dirt, mold, rust. Ceiling fan with exposed wires where the light should be. Smoke detectors unattached. Promised a golf cart that was not available. Did not have a code to lock the door. Said they don't lock their doors around there. We could not stay there. We had to find other accommodations.
In July we booked 6 days Sat thru Thursday and called to confirm those dates with a departure on Friday morning by 10 AM. The room was advertised as a 3 bedroom, which was not in fact true. It was two bedroom and a cramped loft suitable only for children, accessible by a an attic ladder. On the surface unit was well decorated but there turned out to be many shabby features on closer inspection. The screen entry door was in disrepair but did work OK. The main entry door was not lockable and there was no key to secure it. The back patio door was newly replaced but the tile work was incomplete. The lower bath shower door was off it track and not easily closed. The main bathroom had a broken but workable toilet and shabby tile finish. The main shower facet was a strange, hard-to-operate control. On Wed. evening in the middle of our stay, the lessor called to inform us we were due to leave on Thursday, a day earlier than we had agreed. Apparently he had over-booked the condo and was pushing us out, which caused us to loose money on a planned day of diving on Thursday. The agreed upon price thus became unreasonably high due to the shortened stay and for the quality of the condo. Adjoining units had full access to all floors, on ours the bottom floor was used for storage by the lessor. There were many pool toys, boards and fishing equipment stored that that we could have used. The parking arrangements were not ideal and not adequately explained. Full time residents were rude about my parking in locations for easy load/unload near the sidewalk. The center pool and patio area was nice. The charcoal-only BBQ was adequate but dirty. The lagoon water way and manmade beach were not really appealing so we chose not to use them. Watch out for many large iguanas.…
We stayed in unit R6 and it was a fantastic vacation! Monica and Oscar just remodeled the unit and did a great job. Our family of 6 had plenty of space , the kitchen was well equipped and the pool was close by. We definitely recommend this unit! The owners were great and we really enjoyed our stay.
Had a nice stay in one of the townhouses. Property for the most part is pretty nice as was the pool (s) . If you are looking for a beach this is not the place for you. The beach as they call it is not much and is load with Sargassum seaweed which gives off a smell of rotten eggs. This is unfortunately not uncommon however most resorts clean it up on a daily basis but not at Kawama! There is a salt water lagoon which was utilize by a bunch of people for swimming and kayaking just not my cup of tea. Overall the location is great and the guests are too!
VRBO Property #1430338 hosted by Manny Sardinas, room 209, is the property where we stayed for our 45th wedding anniversary. Our anniversary was on March 7, 2021 and we stayed there for 3 days. This room is a model room for all VRBOs to try to live up to. It had everything that you could possibly need or want. I can't think of anything that we could have forgot that wasn't covered. I did forget my sunglasses, and there was a bowl on the book shelf with 10 pairs of sunglasses. The resort was really nice. I went snorkeling and saw more lobster than I have ever seen before, I saw a large baracuda, hog fish, and many other beautiful tropical fish. There were plenty of great restaurants nearby and we had a fantastic time.
We rented B1 from a VRBO host and were not disappointed. The condo itself is 2 story with 2 bed/2baths, full kitchen, living room, ground floor screened lanai as well as balcony screened lanai off of principal bedroom. Principal bedroom has queen bed and 2nd bedroom features 2 twins. The unit was clean and coastal decorated. Grounds of community are lush and well kept with palm trees, bushes and grass. Front entrance is gated and the attendants were very friendly and welcoming. 2 pools- the larger one is salt water and right out our back door. The 2nd pool is chlorine and a bit smaller. Lots of loungers available at the pool and we rarely didn't get a spot at any given time of day. There is also a small lagoon for you can snorkel, kayak all though the temperature was chilly, so we did not use this. The beach is typical keys- coral/sand mix and lots of sea week at the time of our visit. There is a large playground with swings for kids. The jetty next to the beach is a great place to watch the sunset. The location of Kawama is great with restaurants and grocery store, shops close by. We are happy to have found this place and will be back!…
We rented a 2 bedroom condo through Norman Wartman from 12/28/2020-1/2/2021. Great experience and very nice unit and complex. The pools were heated, which was important this time of year. Also, lots of great restaurants nearby. We definitely plan to return!
We are very happy with the stay. The bed in our room is awful and my husband and I fight over the side that is not caved in but other than that it is a very nice place to stay. Our unit came with a free golf cart. Can’t seem to find the “nice beach” everyone is talking about. There are two pools and one was a little hidden and took some looking to find. The jetty is very neat. It is not super crowded and everyone is super nice here. Would totally give 5 stars if bed in our master bedroom is better. It is awfully awful at C4. We do hate that the front is supposed to be manned 24/7 and we didn’t have a code to get in one night. We had to sit at the gate for 20 min waiting for someone to open it along with 3 other cars. I wish they would give the guests a QR code to enter. The lagoon is neat to feed the fish. It is great that a large pool is a short walk out of your back sliding door to go swimming in. They also have a really cool pavilion to grill at. I don’t believe the gas works so charcoal will be needed. Hopefully we can find the so called beach tonight because if they are calling the sand by the cement drive with little umbrellas a beach then they do not have a beach. The tennis courts are nice and you can play until 11p. The crabs and iguanas are so cool to drive around and see. …
This resort has everything you need for a fun and exciting family vacation. There's a nice beach, fishing jetty, boat launch (perfect for kayaks and paddle boards too), a sheltered lagoon (great for days that the ocean is rough), plenty of tikis and chairs on the beach, and walking distance to Key Largo Fisheries. We loved it and will be back!
