After being stuck in the house for 5 months, I decided we needed to get away!!!

Since we live in Weston, FL I decided to head to the Keys for a few days. Based on all the great reviews we decided to try out Coconut Palm Inn. It is off the main highway that goes through Tavernier, so it's perfect because it is so quiet...just you and beautiful views.

Tracey and the entire staff at Coconut Palm Inn were very friendly and accommodating to our family needs. We stayed in the Coconut Palm Suite and had plenty of room for our family. Our room looked as if it was just painted and refurnished because everything in the room looked new. Most importantly, the bed was extremely comfortable! We had a nice deck that we used every morning to enjoy coffee and look out at the water and then every night we enjoyed a beautiful sunset.

At 7:45 PM I saw Tim setting up a fire. I jokingly asked if he would have marshmellows waiting for me and he said yes!!! I grabbed the wife and kids and we enjoyed talking to other visitors and ate s'mors. This is just one example of how Coconut Palm thinks of the little things for you to enjoy when you come visit.

My son and I used the kayaks that were available to use. We went out in the bay for about 45 minutes or so and went around some of the yachts that were in the bay. We did not try fishing, but they even had fishing poles for us to use if we wanted. I'm from Minnesota so I don't know anything about salt water fishing, so I decided to not fish and instead simply relax and enjoy the view.

We went during in July and it was our little escape from the Covid-19 world of southern Florida. I can't wait to go back, but next time it will be just the wife and me!

We stayed for a long weekend a week ago and were shocked at the beautiful property and outstanding customer service. The resort is well off the noisy highway with no sound reaching the grounds. It sits bayside with incredible sunsets most nights. Check-in is on the end of the long building to the right and may be easy to miss . Signs are posted. The room was very clean and had been sanitized. The king bed was extremely comfortable which was necessary for my wife's recently injured back. Linens were very high thread count and towels fluffy and full. The bathroom had a large, walk-in shower tiled in a ceramic stone blend. The sink was small and there was no real area to set things down but there was plenty of storage underneath. The room exited towards the pool to an enclosed patio with very comfy chairs, a second flat screen where we watched the Super Bowl and a quiet ceiling fan. Each morning a basket was delivered with muffins and apples. At 5:45 or so, glasses of wine were brought around. 8pm featured a fire pit with s'more kits. The treat was great but the people you met was our favorite. Ina small resort, we met folks from Gatlinburg Tennessee, Michigan, Miami, Kentucky, Chicago and France. And we're from Pennsylvania. It was amazing discovering the commonalities between us. And no politics ever came up. Not once. The effort to sanitize everything was outstanding. staff were constantly wiping down deck chairs and other furniture and tagging it as "sanitized". The staff could not have been more hospitable and caring. We were celebrating a belated 25th anniversary and were greeted in the room with a lovely note and bottle of wine. Stores are close by and the restaurants are plentiful within a 2 to 20 minute drive. The resort is south of Key Largo in Tavernier about 90 minutes from the Miami airport. As a couple, we found privacy and a calm atmosphere to relax in. There were three children there who entertained themselves well and were well behaved. Bicycles including tandem bikes were available as were kayaks and paddleboard.

This turned out to be the best stay during our entire Southwest Florida trip, and come to think of it, it was one of the better accomodations throughout all of my travels thru America. But it didn't come cheap, just under the $200 range (for a basic room without a view), I believe. But for that financial effort, you will get the full package. You'll be greeted by a courteous staff member at check-in, who will gladly offer you a (small) free cocktail to get right in the 'island spirit'. There is a 'common' area outside around the pool, with Adirondack chairs around a firepit, free kayaks that you can use, a dock. Old fashioned Florida charm, is the best way that I can use to describe this place. The property is on the bay side of the Keys, and come sundown, a staff member will offer red wine to enjoy around the pool (though I had hoped for something a bit colder on a hot day) while you watch the sun set. Breakfast is served right there on the beach too, and you'll be joined by a dozen iguanas that can be rather insistent to rob you of your food (iguanas are an invasive species). I would definitely consider coming here again on a possible future Florida trip.

This tiny boutique resort is very pretty, with just a few rooms and suites right on their beach. The outstanding reviews of CPI had me super excited to stay here, so perhaps my expectations got in my own way.. I'll break it down below.

Pros:
1) I arrived many hours earlier than the hotel's check in time, and they checked me into my room almost immediately. Check in was seamless, friendly, and quick.
2) Due to COVID, everything is sanitized and labeled as such. They seem to not be putting guests in adjacent rooms.
3) Wine at sunset was a nice, welcome touch to complete a relaxing day in the sun.
4) A cute basket of muffins/apples was placed outside our door for "breakfast"
5) There were plenty of kayaks and paddleboards to use at all times.
6) Pool is small but we had it all to ourselves.
7) Many adirondack chairs are set up in pairs all over the docks and beach.
8) The iguanas are fun
9) The smores are really fun!

Cons:
1) No security besides the (actual key, not electronic) lock on your hotel room door.
2) Only the nice woman who checked me in and another who I encountered at check-out and at wine hour cared to interact with me. No other staff even bothered to return my "hello".
3) The area is not walkable. If you are hoping to park your car and forget about it, this is not the place.
4) There is no food nor bar at the hotel, and the closest place is across the highway. There are only 2 food places that deliver. One is Chad's (pizza and subs) and Chinese food. Note: do NOT order the Chinese food.
5) The a/c units in the rooms are old. If you keep your door open for a nice Kay Largo cross-breeze (which we did), the unit will apparently shut down, or staff will come and tell you to shut your doors.

This is a sweet little romantic hotel to get away in absolute peace and quiet for a couple days with your significant other. If you have a need for even the slightest luxury, or the convenience of amenities, don't stay here. **For the price**, there are other options that offer both.

My husband and i spent three nights here 2/24=2/26/2020. The location on the private beach is quite a gem. THe grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. It is very quiet. Own dock from which you can go for a swim. Those are all the positives. When we checked in the first room we were assigned had an issue with a fixture so we were upgraded at no extra charge to a gorgeous suite, which was really beautiful. However the next two nights we were in the planned room which we had booked, which was tiny and only had one chair and hardly any space to hang up any wet items (in the Keys one would think there would be a spot to hang a wet suit without making the room look like a chinese laundry). So whenever both of us wanted to sit, one would have to sit on the chair and one on the bed. I suppose it is because it’s likely you are sitting outside on the beautiful beach.

Breakfast was very meager. Pastries and cold cereal and low fat yogurt, no source of protein, only apples for fruit. Juice and coffee (no decaf). Lovely though to have breakfast on the beach unless it is cold and Incredibly windy like it was our last morning where you could not sit outside without have your food blown away and we resorted to going back to the room and sitting on the bed to eat.

Overall what this place has going for it is the spot on the beach, but unless you splurge and spend the high price for the suite it is not worth the money.

We stayed in the Coconut Palm Suite for 5 nights in early February. The suite was very spacious with everything you needed with a huge deck and great views. Beautiful sunsets over the bay! We really enjoyed our stay very much and wanted to let Coconut Palm Inn know how very special Gaye Ann is. She greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome. We had a very special long conversation with her at the breakfast bar and told her we would give her a shout out on Trip Advisor because she does such a great job and is a huge asset to the inn. Thank you Gaye Ann and keep up the good work!

My wife and I just spent a quick 4 day getaway vacation at the Coconut Palm Inn. This is a lovely place to just kick-back and relax. It is very small, only 18 units, so you're secluded by design. We stayed in one of the Poolside Cabana Rooms (#7) which was perfect for us and only about 20 steps from the pool itself. The room is on the smaller size but just fine for us as we wanted to spend most of the time outside anyway. Everything was very clean and recently updated. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and personable. While there is no on-site fitness center, I was able to go to a great nearby gym called Froggy's which is literally less than 1/4 mile away. They offer a weekly membership for $48 which worked for me. I would highly recommend the Coconut Palm Inn.

My wife and I had to cancel other plans for our 25th anniversary. After much research we decided that the Coconut Palm Inn looked like the best fit for a romantic and relaxing couples trip.
We found the grounds to be quite beautiful, just like the pictures on the website. The ocean front area was sandy with many places to to sit and relax. Lots of palm trees and other shade. We spent a lot of time at the pool area each day (since it was quiet hot in July). There were plenty of loungers available, each with an umbrella. We appreciated the cold water station there as well.
We stayed in two different rooms. We enjoyed the bay view poolside cabana rooms with the nice shaded outdoor space. This room was pretty small inside, however. We also stayed in one of the suites. These rooms are quite spacious and convenient and offered a cool place to relax when it was hot. We liked the suite a lot. It also helped to have a small
Kitchen area for drinks and snacks.
The sunset was gorgeous each night. We found that ordering delivery or takeout was great because we got to have dinner with a private sunset in a comfortable place.
Take advantage of the paddle boards and kayaks. There’s a lot to see in the bay. We decided that swimming in the bay off the resort was not ideal. It was warm and there were quite a lot of jellyfish this time of year.
Close to the Inn were several great restaurants. We enjoyed Snooks and Snappers the best. I’d also highly recommend taking a snorkeling trip our of Pennekamp State Park. It was marvelous.
Finally, the staff at the Inn were so kind and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure our anniversary was memorable. Thank you for making our 25th anniversary amazing!

This is a wonderful little oasis in Key Largo. It’s away from the highway so you don’t hear any of that noise. The units are clean and well-maintained. The beach-like area offers nice views of the sunset, places to sit and relax, hammocks, ping pong, and yard games. Included use of kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles which were all included and well-maintained.
Staff was extremely hospitable with fresh muffins in the morning wine in the evening and s’mores as well. Highly recommend this spot.

Spent 3 nights, 4 days in this secluded and delightful place. They did an amazing job with making sure they were compliant with local and CDC guidelines, while making the place inviting and relaxing. Check-in was very smooth, and our king, bay view room that overlooked the water was amazing. Bathroom is a little tight, but the spacious shower made up for it. Pool was very nice and just the right temp. Plentiful lounge chairs as well.

Early mornings and evenings were spent on the private veranda/cabana. Edison lights across the area near the water have this venue great ambiance. Pool was beautiful and the surrounding area had ample comfortable seating.

Sunset evenings overlooking the lagoon and Florida were some of the best I’ve ever seen. They light a fire around 8pm and S’mores are offered. Adult drinks around are offered as well.

Lots of food choices nearby and grills are available as well. Only downside is parking can be tight, especially with trucks and boats, however no points deducted. They more than made up for it.

Go for the quaint atmosphere, attentions to detail, and the views.

It is on Bayside. They have a private beach area with hammocks, free kayaking and paddle boarding. They have a huge firepit in the evening with stores but also free wine tasting at sunset. It was one of the most relaxing vacations I've been on, but if your wanting white sand beaches with pretty blues, you'd be better off at St. Petes beach or Panama City Beach. The keys is mostly island and boating life. Beautiful water but not really alot of beaches per say.
