We stayed in one of the beach side cabins while getting scuba certified and could not have asked for better accommodations! The place was immaculately clean with a fully stocked kitchen including ice trays, coffee maker, blender and toaster! The shower had great heat and water pressure and each room had it's own air system. Look no further and stay here, great kayaking and a nice pool with beautiful sunset views from the dock in the back.

My family has been staying at rock reef 32 years. First with my parents, and then our own kids, and now with our adult kids. This place is a little slice of heaven. It has a vintage keys vibe but modernized and upgraded so that it's a home away from home. The sunsets are spectacular

The Rock Reef Resort was just what we needed to relax. "Old Keys Charm" minutes from everything and the best restaurants around. Tanay, our concierge, was just wonderful – helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Very professional and polite. Although our room hadn't been updated yet, as some have, it couldn't have been cleaner! We stayed in a quad with 4 double beds in 2 rooms – perfect for families with kids! We took advantage of the heated pool and the kayaks. Wonderful place! The kids are counting the days till we can come back…

We finally made it back to the Keys after being away for 3 years, and once again thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rock Reef. It started this year with Sassy greeting us upon check-in with her sweet and welcoming dog demeanor. The owner and staff are always a pleasure, and prompt in responding to any questions or needs. We've been going to the Keys for 15 years and have only stayed at Rock Reef. The quiet, quaint and old Florida feel with the property and rooms are always a comforting delight...we've stayed in many different rooms and love them all! The private beach and beautiful Gulf bay is always enjoyed with sunsets, swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. There are lots of great restaurants locally for a fun dinner and night out at the end of each day...enjoy the sunset right out your back door, or from a local restaurant. Dear Cole Family, Thank you so much for staying with us this year. We have missed seeing you but with Covid and a growing family we know how life goes. We appreciate your taking time to write a review for us and letting other guests know what we have to offer as well as great restaurants near by. It was fun seeing you down at the beach watching the sunset and just enjoying the peace and quiet that comes with it. Sassy sends her big smile your way. She is just a little upset that she makes so many new friends and she is so excited to see everyone come to see her every day, but just doesn't understand it when they leave! Stayed for family trip with young grandkids, perfect place for them. They could play safely at waters edge, roam property between our cottages. Friendly helpful staff before during and after check in. Recommend ballyhoo across the street and mrs. Mac. Had Cottages 7-8-9-10 which are best for family group. Some still need some updating but all were clean and 9-10 are newer and closest to water. It is perfect for families especially kids. We didnt use the pool they were too busy playing in the water.

This particular old Florida keys family owned resort is a once in a lifetime, quiet and relaxing experience that should be enjoyed now before it all disappears. After searching the web for a quiet adventure getaway in the Florida Keys to launch our new tandem sailing kayak, I found this place for my wife and I. We spent 4 nights here for our 40th wedding anniversary in a private cottage. A treasure for us was found here. A natural wood Keys style cottage close to the water with palm trees, gorgeous well kept gardens and a sandy slope to access the water to launch easily with a kayak cart. This was the ultimate setup for us and having all the comforts of home with beach access a few feet away from the water. We really felt welcomed here after Linda the owner and her son Max greeted us with their two wonderful dogs. The family have been here for 33 years and their love of this resort shows by the care they have taken to keep it beautiful, clean and pristine. The staff here are always very friendly, helpful and hard working. But, it seems times are changing in the Florida Keys. Some of these historic resorts are disappearing. Out of state developers are buying up these properties to rebuild multi-story condominiums and/or luxury resorts. This particular resort should have historical significance for its future well being; preserved with the current buildings, dock and shoreline. My wish that this resort will never changes its character or its owners. We want to come back here many times before this charming beautiful gem disappears. …

Thank you so much for this lovely review. As I spoke to you during your stay, I was so happy that you took the time to look into all the small details and surroundings. Yes, it is peaceful, and relaxing but the widlife and just the ease of getting into the water for swimming or boating. We try hard when we are setting up the units to think of what you use most at home, and what would make you comfortable and try to make sure that you have it here. We want you to think of us as your home away from home when you are planning your stay with us. Although we don't take pets, we do have our MISS SASSY who is our official greeter and we say co-owner! Her biggest job is to greet everyone but sometines you will find her laying down on the job holding the wall up---(Key's style, but still important!) Her next job is to keep the staff in line and to tell staff what she needs or just tell us what need to be done. Miss Sassy is alway willing to give puppy love to anyone who misses their pets and will take all the love given to her. Mr. Bo does get around to say "hello." Times are changing, but we try to show people and it is good to take a look back at what the Keys were like, but still have modern day amenities, and let you slow down, relax and have a peaceful time. Sometimes, we forget what that is like! Again, Thank you for your review and I would like to say again Happy Anniversary to you and here is to another 40 Years!

We only had time to stay 1 night, but wish we had more! Everyone was amazing here from the owner and her sweet dog Sassy to the person at the front desk! It has the true old Keys feel with updated, clean rooms. The pool looked brand new and was one of the best most comfortable pool temps I’ve been in. Also, they provide kayaks and a paddleboat free of charge! The views here are incredible! They were very nice and accommodated for our late check in, just let them know you’ll be checking in late. Pictures really don’t do it justice. We will be back!

Such an idyllic spot with all needs catered for! Staff so helpful and friendly and facilities to a very high standard. Gorgeous gardens with wildlife and beautiful private beach. The pool was a bonus and everything was very well looked after and clean. Would definitely recommend and wish we could have stayed longer.!

This property definitely has a nostalgic feel to it, but has been kept updated and you can tell the owner takes pride in maintaining the grounds. It is not a corporate owned chain and had a homey feel to it. We had a room in the main building that faced the highway but we didn't really notice any road noise. It was a short walk to the beach area and pier. Perfect spot to watch the sunset! The cottages by the water looked very nice and would be a good option to be closer to the water. There are hammocks and chairs throughout the property to relax in. Also picnic tables and grills for guest use. The only minor complaints we had were inadequate electrical outlets in our room and the water pressure in the bathroom sink was almost non-existent. And the walls were pretty thin - we could hear people in the next room talking quite often. But we recommend it and would stay here again!…

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, clean room. This place is a gem. We had a quaint old Florida room. Clean with everything you need. Some rooms have been updated. The views are amazing. Great pool, the dock is a great place to sit and watch kayaking, dolphin and amazing sunsets. We saw several Iguanas. Beautiful plants and trees. Well maintained grounds. The small beach was nice. Linda the owner is amazing. We enjoyed visiting with her. We hope to go back.
