Strange accommodations, safety a concern. On first floor and only a sliding door to enter and leave. It was like sleeping in a basement. Needed work. Bath tub shower, slippery floors when wet. Floors cracked, walls cracked. No pool or beach on premises. Could use a pool to sister hotel next lot, walk on gravel path Resort photos deceiving. Would not book again.
Azul Del Mar in Key Largo is a small hotel comprising of one building that has been divided up into six separate rooms. We stayed in the Caribe room which was very spacious and included a separate sitting area, a fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge, a safe and a small outdoor patio. The shower didn’t have very good water pressure but was functional. The hotel has complimentary bicycle and paddle board rentals which was nice. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a small boardwalk with several lounge chairs but the “beach” area was more of a small rocky entrance to the water. (See photo) The hotel is close to several restaurants and bars but to call this a “resort” is a bit of a stretch. Overall a pleasant place to stay with limited amenities.
Stayed for only a short while but everything was amazing! From the service (shout to Mimi!), to the beautiful property with kayaks, paddleboards and newly added bimesbikes, we will 110% be back for a longer stay!
We loved this little resort. Absolutely perfect for the couple that wants a quiet, simple, clean place to sleep while enjoying Key Largo. Some of my favorite moments of our trip were relaxing on this property. There are hammocks and a dock to relax on, a little beach area to put in a paddle board available on property… staff isn’t there 24/7 but available by phone call. Maybe a little shed for guests with emergency stuff would be nice… plunger, toilet paper, a few extra towels, things like that. Otherwise we have no complaints or suggestions! Very happy with this resort.
My husband and I stayed for four nights, and it was perfect! Because of its small size, it almost felt like we were the only guests there. Our entire stay was so quiet and peaceful. Our suite, Celeste, was clean, well-appointed, comfortable, and quiet with an amazing view. Three of our four nights there we watched the sunset from the little beach--so relaxing! The lady in the office was friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and our check in and out was easy and quick. Aside from relaxing, we kayaked at Pennekamp State Park, hiked at Dagny Johnson State Park, and took a day trip to Key West. We ate lunch at Key Largo Conch House, Shipwrecks, and Buzzard's Roost (where we watched the manatees while we ate!) All three were very, very good. For dinner, we ate at Lazy Lobster and everything was amazing--the atmosphere, service, and food. On our next trip to the Keys, we will definitely stay at Azul del Mar again.…
We arrived this afternoon. Our room wasn't ready so we sat outside to read. Its been hard to enjoy because there is a boat next door running a generator. If this continues this will not be the relaxing vacation we planned.
Well, if we’d seen this earlier, then we’d have booked a longer stay. It’s perfect, absolutely perfect. Unfortunately it was our night before departing Miami Airport so had decided on one night. We’re going to come back. We arrived very early and the room was still being cleaned so no complaints about check in. They kept us informed until it was ready and on entering you could smell the cleaning products. It was spotless. The place is huge, see the photos, with a bedroom, large bathroom, kitchen and sitting room area. The cupboards have decent crockery, the fridge and coffee machine are well stocked, there is a dishwasher for you lazy individuals. Each window looks directly out onto the garden and beach. Plenty of garden furniture and loungers outside as well as on the dock. The beach is private so only guests can use it. The staff were on hand for everything. There is an ice machine and free laundry machines behind reception. I could go but, just go and book the Royal and enjoy.…
We only stayed one night on our way to Key West with friends, great little place! Would definitely stay again. It would be great for a group or families, with several private rooms. If you pass through Key Largo, give them a try.
Azul Del Mar is not really a hotel but a former oceanfront home converted into guest suites. They are very nice rooms with nice amenities. We had what I think is one of the smaller rooms. It had a king bed, huge bathroom, small sitting area and small patio with a privacy screen, table and chairs. It had a mini fridge, dishwasher and microwave. One nice touch was real China plates, mugs and real glassware and silverware. The beach area is small but immaculate and pretty. There are lingers, chairs and small tables there as well as a dock over the water with more loungers. Mimi, the young woman who helped us was very nice, helpful and kind. She helped us with a tricky timing change over to their sister resort Amoray which is right next door. I’d definitely come back here and would recommend.…
Under new management and a sister property of Amoray, we stayed here while getting our scuba certification on an Amoray boat. The property is beautiful, the room was well appointed and spacious, and the staff was kind, helpful and attentive to our needs. We stayed in Royale - one king and one queen (an actual bed in its own room, not a pullout), plus a few sofas in the living room. This is a beautiful apartment with a front row view of the water. We loved every part of being here. I wish we could have stayed longer because we hated to leave!!
