My husband and I planned a dream vacation that included renting a convertible and driving around sunny Florida from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West. After looking at the photos and reviews of the Pelican "cottages" (ignoring the "terrible" reviews because you know you will not make everyone happy), my husband and I decided to make an overnight stop half way...

We accurately describe ourselves as "quaint cottages with an old Florida feel." All of the photos on our website as well as other travel web sites were not taken by professional photographers but by our staff as well as some that our guests have shared with us. We'll be happy to take you on a tour and show where each...

Very quaint and cozy spot! We stayed in a tiny (maybe 60 sq ft) cottage for two but that's all we needed! Just sleep and shower. Lots of adorable outside amenities - cabanas with seating, hammocks, Beach area, dock, free kayaking, boat slip and many more... they even have a continental breakfast! Staff was helpful! We would definitely stay here...

Exactly what I wanted for a 2 day trip to Key Largo. Steps to their mini beach, we found plenty lounges, swings, and hammocks. The free kayaks were a bonus, one & two seaters were available. The staff is courteous & it's clear they all take pride in the property. We can't wait to visit again.

We spent last weekend at The Pelican. While the room was on the small side, it was clean and the people there were amazing. Anything we needed, they were there to support (and we asked for a lot such as the ice machine gave us problems so we told them about it and they gave us ice from their freezer...

The place has clean beds. The space is set up with several one to three unit buildings. They are on the water with kayaks available. Ours had a kitchen which we requested but it had little to no utensils or plates, glasses, cookware, etc. The staff is friendly. Our unit itself was old and the furniture worn and dirty. It...

We are perfectly happy with not being The Hilton! At The Pelican we make every effort to provide clean, affordable lodging without breaking the bank. We value your input and will certainly take the items regarding the furnishings into consideration as we are always looking at new ways to improve.. As always, thank you for choosing The Pelican.

We stopped for a night on our way to Key West. The location is not bad: on the beach, hammocks, palm trees and docking...but the room was the worst I've ever seen. Once closed the door you could see the sky from the frame. The floor was filthy, the bathroom was extremely small, the forniture run down, the doors almost...

Fantastic location, at a good price. Rooms are pretty small but adequate but no hanging wardrobes. Lovely place for a basic, economical break to chill. Could do with a bar and it would be perfect! Free use of kayaks and canoe.
