I made a reservation based on the reviews, somewhat reasonable price and that there had been some remodeling. We were assigned Unit 8a. Walking toward the Unit it was obvious it had not been renovated. The porch cover was leaning. Upon entering we saw a room that looked lite it was out of the 1930s depression era. It was maybe 80 square feet. The bed was against the wall with only one way on. A brown chair was against the foot of the bed and looked like something that was found on the side of the highway. The rest of the room was similarly bad. We asked for a change but none were available. This structure need to be demolished and rebuilt rather remodeled. The owners should be embarrassed to offer this unit as a rental especially for over$250/night. We left of course to find suitable accommodations even though we lost our deposit. If you consider staying at this “resort”, make sure you ask for a remodeled unit.…

Went for husbands Birthday. We stayed in the Pelican Room. We couldnt have been any closer to the water. The room was cozy, clean & very quiet. It is managed well & the upkeep of property is fabulous. Staff very kind & helpful. Fantastic Restaurants right in walking distance. We took a shuttle from Miami Airport, we did not need transportation, we found everything in walking distance. Thank-you for your Hospitality! To Robin & Staff

We were staying at the hotel for a wedding and they were dog friendly. There was no hot water in the shower in Cottage 2 and there were ants in the kitchen and bathroom. The room was clean besides the ants. We unexpectedly had a family emergency and needed to check out a day early and the clerk there during the weekend said no problem. Then another person came in from the back and said no you need to speak with management on Monday. Management would not give us a credit for the last night. We are Florida residents and come to the keys often. We will not return, nor will we recommend this place in the future to our family and friends.

Love this place. We stayed in cabin one and yes you can hear the highway noise but whatever. The cabin itself is beautiful. Full kitchen big bathroom. One bed is soft and the other is very firm. Yes there are the sugar ants, but living in Florida they are all over, just wipe them up and do not leave food out. The beach, love it. It is small (to us perfect) but what me and my bf wanted. No pool but we have one at home that has got a lot of use lately due to red tide. I’m on it now relaxing enjoying a drink Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. We didn’t try their breakfast yet, went to mrs Mack’s next door. All in all if you needs place to get away from it all, highly suggest sunset cove. My two little dogs are having a blast. I have a feeling I will be returning…

This place says they are pet friendly but they are not. Do not stay here if you have a large dog. Staff is nasty and rude. There are so many better places down here in the keys. Staff is racist

We hoped we resolved this with you while you were here. We welcome well-behaved dogs and have had countless numbers visit us over the years. Unruly dogs are uncomfortable for guests and we walk a fine line to keep ALL of our guests happy and safe, You admitted your dog was "sometimes not so nice" when a guest asked if their dog could play with yours. I will be honest that I was a bit apprehensive after I made my reservation for Sunset Cove Divers Den 3. But once I arrived I realized the charm of Key Largo and that this resort was in line with the old fashioned Keys motels. My room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed (except a hairdryer...make sure to bring your own). I honestly was so busy with tours and sightseeing in the area that I wasn't able to take advantage of the beach views and other amenities offered. It was nice having the restaurant/bar next door just a few steps away. The motel is in a great location in the middle of everything. I did not find the street noise to be horrible but, the air conditioner in my unit cut on and off frequently which was loud. The bed was very comfortable. By The keys standards this is an excellent small clean beach, wonderful for kids and adults. Great use of paddleboards and kayaks, free! Didnt need to leave the resort except to get food. The manatees were all around and so wonderful to kayak with! The place was very quiet as most people are out diving etc. We just wanted a place to relax and be together as a family. Lots of different spots to picnic also. Very clean. Old Keys charm!

This really is a lovely little quaint place and nice to be away enough from the main highway. The cottages are distinct, we had a full kitchen which worked great and there were good options for eating (including a beach front restaurant next door) all within walking distance and a CVS just across the highway. Do know that the continental breakfast they say they have really isn't- it is just packaged pastries and coffee, so plan on other options for breakfast. That said, we really thought it was a good value. John Pennekamp state park is just down the road and we had fun on the kayaks and glass bottom boat. Thanks to the staff for a fun time! If we came back to the Keys and were staying in Key Largo this would be the place to go!

This place is awesome. The grounds are so cute. We stayed in the Sand dollar cottage it is very small. We only stayed 2 days so we made it work. The beach has chairs to use and the resort offers grills and tables. Staff were very friendly. Our cottage was clean and comfortable.

This is an ideal KEY motel. Right on water, small cottages rather than big non-local chain, funky animals and statues all over. Friendly as can be. We would stay here again in stead of chain or boutique hotel. Clean & modern.
