Staff was friendly, place was clean and it even had a small gift shop. It had to bars/restaurants close by. It needed updates and overflow parking was at the restaurant next door. They have continental breakfast and a pool. Lots of picnic tables.
The staff members are very friendly, but the location is terrible. The hotel is on a small water canal, but the view of the canal is terrible due to wall-to-wall commercial businesses on it. Parking is extremely limited, so it is very difficult to find a spot to park. Also, there is a nightclub right beside the hotel with a band, and the music is very loud until 10 PM or later. The music was so loud that we couldn't sleep until the band stopped playing. The motel is old and outdated, and the rooms are small. The only good thing about our stay was that the bed was very comfortable.
It’s a great place, rooms are old but nice, we stayed in a double queen with a full kitchen and it was perfect for us. The pool is big, all areas are clean, the restaurant near the pool was really good with live music and great food. You can even enjoy the pools at holiday inn and also at the Courtyard but we decided to stay at our pool. At the marina, we saw manatees and also sharks! We’re already thinking of coming back!
Absolutely Superb! This place has it all. On the water at the marina, Skippers restaurant/bar 100 feet west, Sharkeys Bar 100 feet east, Scuba and jet skis on the other side of marina, African Queen day tours in Marina, Glass bottom boats tours at marina, boat rental at marina---and the greatest/chill property manager you will ever meet-Miguel Waldo and his assistants including Lauren-Great House keeping. Pool is huge and right on the marina. Skippers is basically right next to the pool. There is a Holiday Inn and Courtyard just feet also and a stay at MDM allows you use those pools too! No brainer if you like lots scenery, but chill setting. And finally-best complimentary breakfast you will find around !!!
This was our favorite stay on our trip. The staff is all so warm and welcoming. We did not have a great experience the first leg of our trip and this place changed our whole experience. Sharon at the front desk is fantastic, she truly cares about the guest and their experience. She went above and beyond to show us the sharks out back and tell us about local things to do. The rooms are out of date, but clean and comfortable. We loved the location, there is plenty to do near by, but we also enjoyed just hanging out right there at the resort. The pool was very clean and we had access to other pools in Marine area. We loved the continental breakfast on the outdoor patio each morning, we saw so much marine life and loved the bird watching. One of our favorites was the sunsets from our balcony and with Skippys next door and their live music it was awesome! We can't wait to go back next year and bring the hubbys.…
I found a good deal on Expedia for Marina Del Mar. We had a 3 Bedroom Suite with marina view that was perfect for our needs. We loved the balcony and spent mornings on it having coffee and evenings on it enjoying the live music from the restaurant next door. The pool was clean and water temperature was just right. Lots of things to do within walking distance from the room. We dove with Rainbow Reef. Did a Jeski rental with Keys skis right from the Marina. The hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was a great way to grab something quick before each days adventure. We would stay here again.
We arrived early for a one night stay. The front desk was very professional and told us we could use the pool and provided us with towels. They made great restaurant suggestions close by. The grounds and marina were lovely. Plenty to sit and watch, as well as the restaurants, Sharkeys and skippers. We were able to check in around 3 PM. My husband dropped our luggage off in the room and came back to the pool and went to Sharkeys for dinner and didn’t really spend any time in the room. That evening the room seemed dingy but we went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning I realized how dilapidated and poor the room was. I’ve never stayed in a hotel room that was this rundown. We generally like to save money for our trips and especially enjoy our rooms. Our one night stay was $378.00 I would love to return but it would not be until they renovate these rooms.…
