Kona Kai is a magical hideaway, teeming with the natural beauty of old Key Largo and hand-polished into one of the most exclusive resorts known to the Florida Keys. Our resort is private, very intimate, and adult-only (14 or older). The thirteen (13) charming guest rooms and suites are as refreshing, unique, and fanciful as their tropical fruit namesakes. Washed with natural light, 100% cotton fabrics, and original art, the overall feeling is one of elegant simplicity and perfection. You instantly feel at home, carefree and comfortable.

Kona Kia is tucked away from the Overseas Highway on the Bayside with beautiful rooms woven through lush tropical botanic gardens. The rooms are Impeccable and prosperity is pristine. Kathryn will greet you upon checking in. She has a wealth of information on places to go and she goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is nothing more then amazing. At Kona Kia you will be astonished at what you’ll see during your morning coffee or enjoying a glass of Prosecco at sunset while sitting on the dock of the bay. I’ve attached a photo of our mascots Kona and Kia. My wife and I can’t wait to return for our next treatment.

Very safe & clean. Great views of sunset. We were comfortable here as it was relaxing. Office staff very nice and helpful. Felt it was somewhat pricy compared to other places with comparable amenities and didn’t get any recognition for celebrating our anniversary. We would definitely visit again (if we can afford it).

If you’re looking for a low-key, beautiful escape to the Keys, this is your place! The staff is BEYOND friendly and super helpful. Some of the best hospitality I’ve ever received. The site itself is a beautiful set of beachy bungalows all decorated with a classic style from days gone by. There is a nice pool and hot tub with plenty of spots for sun bathing. Beach area with kayaks and other water gear available for use at no additional cost. While kayaking out on the water, we saw a baby stingray, plenty of fish and sea urchins, and even a momma manatee with her baby. All of the suites are complete with kitchen and seating areas. The bathrooms appear to be newly renovated and fully stocked with toiletries and such. There is WIFI available and streaming services available on the TVs. And they even had fresh locally picked starfruit available! Loved this place and will definitely be back!

We stepped into a world of relaxed elegance when we arrived at Kona Kai Resort. Kona Kai exceeded all expectations with its breathtaking bayside views, tropical gardens, and the staff’s impeccable attention to the guest experience. It is our favorite escape and self-pampering. You can’t help but slow down, take a deep breath, and embrace the Florida Keys. We highly recommend a visit for couples looking for the ultimate retreat.

We visited this gem of a resort over the weekend and had an amazing time! It truly is a perfect location for a romantic getaway! They offer an array of complimentary activities including tennis, ping pong, corn hole, kayaking and paddle board plus a lots of cozy hammocks around the property to relax in! Every evening we enjoyed the sunsets from the docks with a cocktail. Having the heated pool and hot tub available beachside was perfect! Our room was super clean and adorably decorated with a beach theme. All the staff was very friendly and willing to go above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy more time at this wonderful property. If you are looking for the perfect place for a romantic getaway, you won’t be disappointed!

Visiting the Kona Kai resort is like walking through a secret passage and finding yourself in NARNIA. Classic bungalows nestled between walkways filled with fragrant plumeria tropical greenery, orchids and hibiscus. Classic cottage style rooms are cozy but elegant, reminiscent of a bygone era of Katherine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart but with WI-FI AND NETFLIX. The resort is on the PREFERRED BAY SIDE of the Florida Keys which provides guest with intimate sunsets that you will swear are photoshopped - ombré hues of salmon pink and turquoise look digital and the resort also offers kayaks & paddle boards free of charge to leisurely explore the crystal clear waters where we encountered a manatee family in the near mangroves - we were absolutely thrilled yet humbled by their sheer size as there were about the size of a Mini Cooper, we kept our distance as not to disturb them yet held reverence. I’ve been to this resort twice for business and the beauty of this resort and setting is second to the cordiality and kindness of the incredible staff and managers - a special thank you to Katherine and Dee Dee for being the magic behind the scenes. My spouse and I absolutely love The Kona Kai resort!

Kona Kai is so amazing and special and a great location! From the moment you arrive you feel a sense of peace and calm from this wonderful place. The rooms are quality, adorable and decorated like the "Keys". The grounds are well kept and tropical. The pictures you take look like postcards from any phone! The water/beach is private, walk out boat dock and water toys included if you'd like to use them. Kathryn the manager and Dee Dee at the front desk are both wonderful, informative and help make your stay extra special! I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful and tropical place!

Not sure how they do it…. You feel like you’re the only one there unless you want to talk to someone. So spacious with the lush gardens… then the beach…little nooks here and there with hammocks. Ping pong over looking the water! Sunset pier with resident manatees. The ONLY thing missing was we wish we had more time at Kona Kai. We will be back…

Top notch! Great location and staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean property and beautiful grounds. Loved our visit and we will be back! A little hidden oasis in Key Largo. Didn’t want to leave and wished we booked a few More days! The art gallery was beautiful as well.
