Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages is located on the Bay side of Key Largo. What makes us unique is our cottage rentals come with a free designated 22' sailboat that you can use for your whole stay, also included is the free use of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, dinghies, snorkel gear, fishing gear and bicycles. Sail to the Nest Key island and experience the mud bath on the beach, or sail towing your kayak, then kayak through the mangrove jungle into the hidden lake where you will see manatees. Rates starts as low as $175 a night on our low season, each of our uniquely decorated and themed cottages comes in different sizes with king or queen size bed as well as bunk beds, and a duplex which can be converted to 1 big cottage that can sleep up to maximum of 13 people.
If you love sailing, or want to learn, this is the place for you. I spent 10 days here last December with my daughter and son-in-law. The atmosphere is very laid back, the cottage was clean and comfortable, the staff warm and accommodating. The real bonus for us was the nicely-equipped Catalina 22 that's included in the deal as well as access to a Hobie Wave catamaran which was a blast to sail in the 15-20 knot breezes we enjoyed during our stay. there are lots of great restaurants in the area, some within easy walking or biking distance. If you want to learn to sail or improve your skills, there is a great ASA sailing school on the premises as well. Highly recommended!

We had a great time and will return. If you are looking for a fancy place and fancy boats this is not your place. Our cottage was clean, the bed comfortable with really soft linens and it came with everything we needed including a cooler and a big bag of ice to take out on the 22' swing keel Catalina assigned to us. They also have a ton of other toys (kayaks, bikes, a Hobie Cat) for you to use at no charge. Owner Paul and his staff were very easy to like and very relaxed about the boating. Although we have sailed small swing keel boats for years, we are not highly trained or highly skilled. I believe they offer sailing lessons for those who wish (we did not do any lessons). The bay you sail in is pretty protected and Paul has several easy trips mapped out to and around…

This was our second visit. We love this place. The combination of a place to stay with the use of a 22' Catalina for our use during our stay is just too good of a deal. Our 2nd visit was better than our first because of the new management team of Scott and Oksana. They have improved the organization of the place and were so incredibly nice and helpful. First timers are always a little put off by the entrance and the cottages are a little cluttered and kitschy but the location is perfectly beautiful and Scott and Oksana are the greatest!!! We will be back again!

You get what you pay for. Keep that in mind when you stay at the Key Lime Sailing Club. It costs ~$250 a night to stay there, but $250 a night does not go far for lodging on Key Largo. (At KLSC there is a five-night minimum stay.) But we read all the reviews, and folks seemed to really like Key Lime, so we gave it a try. We disagree with many of the previous reviews. The Gulf front docks are not aesthetically pleasing. They are a mishmash of docks and amateur concrete projects. The KLSC grounds are nowhere near pristine; they are an extension of the junkyard that fronts the property. Since the “beach” area of KLSC is near the main highway, it is nowhere near serene. And there is absolutely no beach to walk. Our room was rustic, with funky beds and paper thin walls. We had…

This place is great and supplies the only location with free Sailing options. Their Catalina 22’s are perfect day cruising boats and buttonwood bay is a great spot. Take advantage of their comfortable and relaxing catamaran. They offer sunset sails for a fee. Totally worth it. One tiny criticism is the mass of boats and stuff at the entrance. This should not discourage anyone though as the grounds are overall well kept and clean comfortable. We will be returning soon! Thanks to the team down there that made it a trip to remember.

Great beach mini resort sailing club. Friendly welcoming staff. Great captains for the sunset sails, snorkel trips, and ASA classes. Comfortable cottages and amazing restaurants within walking distance. (I recommend Mrs Macs Restaurant)

I'll start this review by saying we would go again, but would stay in one of their other cottages (not "The Hideout"). Because Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages have high rating on Tripadvisor, I expected a little more upscale than it was. It wasn't the romantic bunglaow I expected but once I accepted the fact we were basically "camping," I had fun! The cottages were originally part of a fishing camp circa 1950's and time has stood still for the most part including lots of junky boats and boat parts lining the entry drive. "The Hideout" cottage has old bed linens, an old temperapedic mattress, and nothing comfortable to sit on. If you want to watch movies you have to sit on the bed. (The internet connection is poor in Hideout so we couldn't watch streaming movies.) The photos…

I've been a crew helping out with boats and what I can say is that this place is not for anyone. If you are looking for a 5 star all-in resort with a daycare for your children, a restaurant and bar on-site, that's not it. If you're looking for a simple cabin with direct access to a Catalina 22, padleboard, kayaks and bring your children with you everyday on the water, or just chill on the longchair looking at the bay, then yes, that's the place.

This end-of-winter was our third visit to Key Lime Sailing Club. We're former sailors, now power-boaters so we need a 'fix' of sailing occasionally ... and an escape from our winter weather. Look past the mountains of derelict boats and other junk around the entrance; it's part of the place's charm, and Paul is, like me, one of those people who can't bear to throw things away because, well, you never know when you might need whatever it is. The cottages are mostly little one-room efficiencies, charming in an 'old Keys' sort of way and very functional. We especially like the outdoor tiki shower in the Sailfish cottage. Paul, the owner, and his staff are very helpful when you ask them, and will also leave you alone to have fun if you prefer. Having a sailboat (Catalina 22)…

Had a great stay at the Main House. The property was beautifully furnished, felt homey and was well appointed with kitchen supplies. It’s wonderful to have all the water toys so handily at your disposal while on vacation. The staff was great! Helpful and friendly!
