Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages is located on the Bay side of Key Largo. What makes us unique is our cottage rentals come with a free designated 22' sailboat that you can use for your whole stay, also included is the free use of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, dinghies, snorkel gear, fishing gear and bicycles. Sail to the Nest Key island and experience the mud bath on the beach, or sail towing your kayak, then kayak through the mangrove jungle into the hidden lake where you will see manatees. Rates starts as low as $175 a night on our low season, each of our uniquely decorated and themed cottages comes in different sizes with king or queen size bed as well as bunk beds, and a duplex which can be converted to 1 big cottage that can sleep up to maximum of 13 people.
We used to think there were only 2 reasons to visit the Florida Keys, the weather and the water. We now know that there are 3, the weather, the water, and now, Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages. After taking their ASA sailing classes we were surprised to learn that we had a Catalina 22 assigned to our cottage. Just for us. No need to schedule or share. What a unique concept! After a day of sailing, kayaking or paddle boarding, it was so relaxing to sit at their beach/dock area to watch the sunsets that the Keys are famous for. The reason for the 5 stars? The staff! We truly felt like we were a valued part of their community. Our very "Keysy" Dolphin House was spotless and so comfortable. During our stay, we got to know the house, dock, and teaching staff, we realized that we were not just customers, but a part of their family. It was a very personalized approach that made us feel so welcomed and not wanting to leave. If your looking for glitz, glamour, and that "just another number" feeling, there's one of those places close by. However, if you truly want to experience the real Florida Keys in its natural setting, Key Lime Sailing Club is for you.…

The place would of been a little challenging to find but, they have great instructions to follow and Jenn, was outstanding in explaining the area, along with what they all had to offer. Very relaxing. They had several different activities to chose from. We will be definitely back!!

My husband and I stayed in the Sailfish cottage for 5 days over his birthday and it was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve ever had! We loved the outdoor shower. The cabin is small, but extremely comfortable (great bed and we’re picky) and very clean. It has all the amenities and features you need including: mini fridge/freezer, 2 burner stove, cookware, dishes, microwave, coffee maker, cable TV with streaming. But more importantly the most incredible ocean front view right from the bed!! Outside you also have a covered tiki area with hammocks, outdoor table/seating, large cooler and a grill - were able to grill a couple of nights, but there’s also plenty of amazing restaurants very close by. Close enough to walk or boat to. I also loved that EVERYTHING is inclusive. We were able to kayak with manatees, kayak in the mangroves, and sail every single day. There weren’t any extra, hidden fees. Snorkel, fishing equipment, life vests, and paddle boards are also free to use. The staff is *phenomenal* and so friendly - Jenn is the absolute best!! We’re wanting to come back with our family and she let us tour the other cabins. If we needed extra towels she’d pop by with them. She even brought us some fresh red grouper she had - what a treat!! We also stayed in Key West and wished we had just stayed here the entire vacation. Key West is great if you want large crowds of drunk people bumping into you and the smell w**d and beer p*ss everywhere you go. Key Largo is great if you want to kick back, relax, enjoy nature, eat fresh seafood and enjoy life & killer sunsets. If you’re super bougie/extra and expect 5 star accommodations you may not like Key Lime Cottages because it’s old school Florida keys. But I’m a fairly bougie person and I absolutely LOVED it, so maybe give it a chance. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend!!!…

The use of the Catalina 22 for experienced sailors is an awesome deal. My sailboat is on the hard side this experience has tied me over. The cottages are older but clean with outdoor space to grill and enjoy the simple life. The staff is excellent and helpful.

We've dreamed of sailing for 40+ years. We've taken classes, we've had lessons, but what we needed was time on the water. KLSC was perfect for us. The staff is kind and helpful, supportive of those who (like us) want confidence, but never condescending or hovering. They tell you what you need to know, including restaurant recommendations, and let you do your thing. In our case, that was 5+ hours on the water each day we were there, with terrific suggestions about how to go. We initially wondered if we had the skills to take the boat all day, and Captain Gary suggested a refresher lesson with Neil, who was outstanding. He gave us pointers and help when we needed it in a way that increased our sense of confidence and gave us the thumbs up. The bay was perfect for us: plenty of great places to go, but not crowded with other boats or people. Each day when we came back to port, Neil was there with the boat hook to help us moor at the dock. Then it was time to watch the sunset from the tiki hut, chatting with the other visitors and compare notes about our day's sail. We loved our time here. The cottages are clean and do not smell musty-- all freshly aired. they are modest. This is not a luxury resort. But the kitchen was well set up. There was just the two of us, but our cottage also contained bunk beds and a trundle-- a family of 5 could easily have stayed there. If you're looking for an unpretentious place where you can maximize your water sports, watch the sunset, eat good food, meet nice people from all over, and be looked after courteously and tactfully , then this is the place for you.…

incredible value -- Priceless location and experience! Cabins are clean and well appointed. This is not the Ritz Carlton, but comfortable and incredibly fun. Staff is very helpful. Good restaurants nearby including walking distance. So cool to be able to paddle board/kayak to local bars/restaurants. Great experience! Oh...and my husband LOVED the sailing!!

We stayed here with our four adult children in August. We stayed in the main house, which was plenty big for all of us. I'm not quite sure how to describe the decor, but it was a fascinating combination of nautical, Chinese and Egyptian. The kitchen was well-equipped. The A/C was sufficient. The beds were comfy. And everything was clean and tidy when we got there. The staff was great. We got to know several of them over the week, and have nothing but nice things to say. At one point, the microwave malfunctioned, and the staff had a new microwave installed within hours. The private beach was small, but adequate for our needs, which essentially boils down to providing access to the water. We spent every night on the beach and at the tiki hut for the amazing sunsets and to socialize with our neighbors. We met some great people. We were impressed with the large amount of water toys that were available for us to use. Plenty of paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel sets. We never once had a problem getting the item we were after. The snorkeling around the docks was great. Plenty of sea life to investigate. It kept us busy all week. The only downsides that we can think of are that there were no fans available in the main house. (It's always nice to sleep with a fan.) And that there were no laundry facilities on the premises. But these are minor quibbles, compared to all the great positives that this place has to offer.…

Clean comfortable fantastic location and the staff was friendly and very accommodating! Sailboat use was fantastic and a perfect area to sail. We stayed in the Captains Cottage the views were great, could sleep a lot of people if need be, they thought of everything as far as kitchen, baths, etc... also has inside and private outside shower. Free use of so many fun water toys and bikes. Walking distance to great restaurants, CVS, etc. No need to move the car. Rosie and G were great! We will be back!

My husband and I chose a trip to Key Lime for our 20th wedding anniversary. We wanted to stay in the US, complete our ASA 101, and have a great time. Key Lime and the American Sailing Academy on-site were the perfect combination for us. I read all the reviews and scoured the guest photos before booking, so we knew what to expect. Key Lime is not a 5-star resort but is a 5-star experience. The only way you wouldn't enjoy yourself here is if you arrived without doing your homework and were expecting something different. We stayed in the Captain’s Cottage, which had been updated since the photos on the website were taken. The cottage had a great water view and plenty of room to spread out. Yes, you do need to go around the bathtub to get to the kitchen dishes but that is part of the fun. The bed was extremely comfortable. When we go back this will be the cottage we request. We spent the first 2 days in sailing classes on-site. The sailing instruction we received was more than we could have hoped for and we will recommend Barnard and Captain G's sailing school to anyone. After passing our ASA class we had 3 days to ourselves to explore on our own with the Catalina 22' we were assigned. Sometimes challenging depending on wind, but always fun. At the end of a long day of sailing, we looked forward to going back to Key Lime to float or kayak then head to the tiki hut, chat with the other guests and watch the amazing sunset. Key Lime really is a one-of-a-kind place. It is fun, funky and laid back. You won't find anything else like it.…

I have just returned home from a week at the KLSC where I completed my ASA 101 and 103 certication classes. I can not thank enough the KLSC staff and more importatnly my instructor Bernard for the knowledge gained, experience and laughs. I highly recommend the KLSC to anyone who has a desire to further enhance their sailing skills and experience!
