The decor is "college dorm room". The entrance is sketchy-looking. The staff is amazing and the setting is true paradise. Cottages were immaculately clean and comfortable with kitchenettes. Rent a private cottage and it comes with the use of a 22-foot sailboat, all the water toys (kayaks, snorkeling gear, bikes, etc.) and it's all yours for the entire stay. The cost per night is very reasonable and although there's no room service, there are several excellent restaurants within walking distance and a liquor store and grocery store nearby as well. We truly enjoyed our week here

Unlike two earlier visits, this time it didn't feel tropic: cold temperatures in combination with strong northern winds reminded me of Maine where I live and sail.
Didn't bring warm sailing gear and clothing because I expected 'Paradise'.
Can't blame anybody for lousy weather; indoors in the cottage Hideout, it was cozy, although a small breakfast table would be appreciated.
We, 2 old geezers in their seventies, had a great time: one day sailing a Cat 22 (brrrr..) no kayak through mangroves this time, one day sailing schooner America in Key West, one day a trip on the glass bottom boat in Pennekamp.
Great place, great staff, only location where you get a sailboat with your cottage along the east coast.
I like a little funky as long as it's pleasant.

Beautiful facility, Jen and Wess were knowledgeable about the area and always available. The water was clear, saw manatees right off the dock! Kayaks were in great condition, multiple things to use in the water including snorkeling equipment!

We had the best vacation at Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages that we have had in a very long time! The entrance is unassuming (we had to make a couple of U-turns to find it) but we were waved in by Property Manager, Housekeeping and Maintenance, Jenn with an enthusiastic greeting. Jenn gave us a thorough tour of the property, water toys for use, tiki hut, and our cottage. She gave us a list of local points of interest, restaurants, grocery, etc.. She also introduced us to her pet iguana, Martin which the kids enjoyed seeing.
Our cottage (The Keys) was clean, well maintained, and provided all that was expected. In this particular cottage, the queen bed (terrific mattress) is nestled in a corner up three steps, which we had a great laugh about doing par core in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
We had access to a 22ft Catalina, included in our cottage stay, after being cleared by the onsite Boat Captain, Laurel, and given thorough safety instructions by the Dock Master, Wes. We were also offered assistance with sailing from Steve. Wes made sure all guests were well informed about wether conditions to ensure the safety of all guests. Safety gear (life vests, recreational diving flags) were provided by Key Lime. We were able to swim and snorkel at the docks, which we did. We saw beautiful parrot fish, grouper, grunt, hermit crabs, starfish, and a variety of seagrasses and corals right under the docks!
Every night we stepped right outside to the docks and Tiki hut to watch the magnificent sunsets provided by mother nature!
Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages offers the convenience of taking an ASA sailing class right on the property. Captain Laurel was an encouraging, thorough, experienced, and all around excellent teacher!
Because Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages provides so many things to do, focuses on guest safety with water activities, has an island vibe, and gorgeous view of the bay, we were active, yet relaxed, entertained by nature above, on and below water, and we look forward to returning!

If you are looking for the classic Keys vibe this is the place to stay! The cottages are are so cool and give you the feeling you live there. Paul (the owner), Jan (office manager) and Chuck (groundskeeper) treat you like personal friends. Throw all your pretentions out the window and settle in for a great rejuvenating stay.

Full access to kayaks, paddle boats, sailboats, fishing rods. Spend your days exploring the backcountry waters of the Keys. Excellent tidy-sized waterfront where you will make friends at the Tiki hut and be able to keep an eye on the kids! Can't wait to go back there next year for a more extended stay.

If you are looking for "high end" services, a fancy restaurant and a waterfront bar with live music, you won't find it here but you will find them a short walk away. This is strictly a "home-keeping" style place - just the way I like it! Richard V., Toronto

My husband and I stayed in the Sailfish cottage for 5 days over his birthday and it was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve ever had! We loved the outdoor shower. The cabin is small, but extremely comfortable (great bed and we’re picky) and very clean. It has all the amenities and features you need including: mini fridge/freezer, 2 burner stove, cookware, dishes, microwave, coffee maker, cable TV with streaming. But more importantly the most incredible ocean front view right from the bed!! Outside you also have a covered tiki area with hammocks, outdoor table/seating, large cooler and a grill - were able to grill a couple of nights, but there’s also plenty of amazing restaurants very close by. Close enough to walk or boat to.

I also loved that EVERYTHING is inclusive. We were able to kayak with manatees, kayak in the mangroves, and sail every single day. There weren’t any extra, hidden fees. Snorkel, fishing equipment, life vests, and paddle boards are also free to use.

The staff is *phenomenal* and so friendly - Jenn is the absolute best!! We’re wanting to come back with our family and she let us tour the other cabins. If we needed extra towels she’d pop by with them. She even brought us some fresh red grouper she had - what a treat!!

We also stayed in Key West and wished we had just stayed here the entire vacation. Key West is great if you want large crowds of drunk people bumping into you and the smell w**d and beer p*ss everywhere you go. Key Largo is great if you want to kick back, relax, enjoy nature, eat fresh seafood and enjoy life & killer sunsets. If you’re super bougie/extra and expect 5 star accommodations you may not like Key Lime Cottages because it’s old school Florida keys. But I’m a fairly bougie person and I absolutely LOVED it, so maybe give it a chance. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend!!!

If you read the reviews you will know what to expect, so you just need to figure out if this is your kind of place or not. For the most part, we really liked it.

We were in the Sailfish cottage…if there are just two of you, that is definitely the place to stay! It is right on the water, you have your own tiki hut and a wonderful outdoor shower! The cottage was clean, and the bed was very comfy. It is small, but we spent most of our time outside anyway (bring mosquito repellant.) The tiki hut has a table and chairs and a great hammock. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets!! The front of the cabin is all glass so you wake up to an ocean view. Really lovely.

The kitchen area is very small, but adequate. We generally had breakfast and lunch at the cottage and then went out to dinner. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance, which was nice. I’d particularly give the “little” Mrs. Macs and C & C Woodfire shout-outs for good food and great service. Snooks and Bayside were kind of meh…mostly what they have to offer is waterfront dining, the food was just OK.

There are kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling equipment to use at will. I went kayaking almost every morning and it was a wonderful way to start the day.

The sailboats were the reason we went down to Key Lime Cottages, but they proved to be the negative part of the week for us. The fleet of Catalina 22s is old and not particularly well maintained. The first boat they tried to put us on had a cracked tiller and an outboard that didn’t work, so we lost half a day until they finally let us take out the sailing school boat. The next day we were given a different boat with a few issues and the third day yet another boat with different issues…no winch for the main sheet, rusty crank for the swing keel, a missing lifeline stanchion, and missing battens. All this eroded our confidence in the boats, and we wondered when the last time the standing rigging and chain plates were checked. After the third boat, we gave up and did day trips to Key West and the Everglades instead of the sailing we had planned to do. So be warned, if you are a sailor who likes things to be ship-shape the boats will cause you some agita.

But overall, we had a nice week and I have great memories of beautiful sunsets and waking up to a lovely ocean view.

Very unique resort with numerous opportunities for adventure for all levels of comfort zone! We brought three generations to this resort, (my kids, my parents, and my wife), and we had an outstanding trip. Our only regret was not staying longer. See my mom’s review in the picture.

If you are looking for a vacation with sailing as the main recreation this is the spot! Our sailboat was well maintained and easy to handle with great staff that are very helpful and accommodating when going out or coming in from the dock or mooring.

Would love to come back if it works out!

Keys vacation for the family!! We’ve been here for a week; part family vacation with 2 14 year old kids and the other part was to get our next ASA sailing 103 certification. You can’t beet this place!! Cute cottages with great staff. The ability to have a sailboat during your visit, get your sailing certifications on site, kayaks, canoes, snorkeling, etc. A tiki hut to watch beautiful sunsets and walking distance from Snooks restaurant!! This is definitely a repeat place for vacations!!

Our family of 4 had an amazing stay at Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages. The staff were so friendly and the use of sailboats made the trip exceptional. If you sail and love a laid back old Florida keys vibe this place is for you!! Our cabin was very clean and we loved the waterfront views. We already booked our return trip. My teenager loves to fish and had a blast fishing off the dock! There was a bait store in walking distance that he went to multiple times when he ran out of bait. The sunsets are breathtaking. Hidden gem especially for those who love to sail! Free use of kayaks were a huge bonus for my boys! Fire pit and good company at night if you felt like being social near the water! We saw manatees, sting ray, and a dolphin from the dock! We had an awesome trip!
