We stayed here based on a package deal with Rainbow Reef scuba shop which is in walking distance from the hotel. It was a nice clean hotel with a great Pool, gym, and little sandy area resembling a beach. The water views were pretty.

Due to Covid no breakfast was available so we went to docs each morning (which I whole heartedly recommend.

Our first room was 221 that was huge.... but it was also road noise and lobby noise galore. We asked for a new room and Chris the manage was kind enough to relocate us. Our new room was 3rd floor facing the pool. We could hear every mato and every polo. We could hear an entire phone conversation from next door. Seriously the loudest hotel we have ever been to.

We stayed 3 nights at the Courtyard by Marriott Key Largo.

We were in handicap room 113, which had 2 queen beds, TV/ A/C, electronic safe, iron and ironing board, small fridge, and a 1 cup coffee maker.

The bathroom had a shower only, but had a seat in the shower.

The balcony (facing the street) had a table and 2 chairs.

The beds were very comfy and well appreciated. And I liked having a newspaper every day available in the lobby. And the underground parking was nice, but there was plenty of other parking, too.

It was a bit unusual to drive up to the 2nd level to enter the lobby.

The fire pit (outside the pool area) was not working the night I checked it out. And if you want a bigger pool, you can go next door to the Holiday Inn, as there are reciprocal privileges with both hotels.

The only complaint I have is that all the lights are on one side of the room, making the other side kind of dark.

We would stay here again.

I decided to include a stopover in Key Largo on my drive to Key West. I used Marriott points to stay at the Courtyard, and it was a great stay.

Check-in was quick and courteous. I was very happy to be offered an upgrade to a room with a balcony overlooking the pool and an adjacent canal lined with beautiful boats. The location is really nice. The canal is lined with a couple very good restaurants and an assortment of vendors offering snorkeling, diving, fishing, sailing, jet skiing, etc. I enjoyed just walking up and down the canal upon arrival and in the evening to enjoy some live music.

The room was spacious and attractive. It included two comfortable queen beds, a fridge, and a large TV with streaming services presets. There was a sink and vanity area, then a separate area with a door for the toilet and tub/shower. The separate area also had a sink and vanity, which does crowd things a bit.

I highly recommend a visit to the Courtyard Key Largo. I’m already planning to stay on my next trip to the Keys.

As a long time Marriott status member and now an Ambassador level member I am concerned by this hotel not recognizing the benefits that come along with the Marriott program and its elite levels. First, there is no onsite breakfast option which is usually a benefit that is offered. Not the worst thing as plenty of good places to eat in KL, but still. Second early check in and late checkout are standard benefits offered to reward members. When I requested a late checkout of 4pm they indicated that they had processed other requests for late checkout (even though I had requested mine when I checked in and it wasn't acknowledged then) and I had to check out at the standard time. The manager on duty came by and said oh we can extend that to 1pm indicating they were sold out for the evening (which is not at all true given a room could be booked by going to the Marriott app) and they were short staffed on cleaning crew, which given its the weekend is a lack of planning on management part. These just simply are not things that elite level members want to or should have to deal with. COVID precautions or whatever other excuse they want to use are no longer valid especially if they are at or very near capacity, they need to be operating like a legit hotel at this point.
Overall, I would pass on this hotel in KL especially if a Marriott reward member who would be expecting the associated benefits. Plenty of other places to stay in the area that I am sure would be happy to welcome Marriott elites properly.

Don’t be mistaken by the pictures, you also need to ask for room with view or you’ll be viewing the parking lot. The tv wasn’t working well (they told us in advance that if we want to change to room with view there’s a problem in the room).
Only one of us (family of 4) could shower with hot water. There was not more hot water even hours later.
The pool is smaller than it looks in the pictures (but it’s deep).
The air condition was so loud, we ask other guests they said they had the same problems.
The room was big enough for us and clean but the bathroom was tiny.

I love Marriott but I’ll never step into this hotel again. Definitely not worth the price.

This Courtyard is old, rundown, and needs work. We have Titanium Elite status, but the acknowledgment was all we received. No complimentary upgrade, welcome gift, nor late checkout. The hotel is on the marina across from Skippers Dockside, but still a drive away. Only a Circle K is accessible by walking. The lobby average and appears to be like most Courtyards with a Starbucks bistro. However once you get to the room, it’s a whole other story. Where do I start… stained popcorn ceiling, curtain for a closet door, loud AC, thin walls, music can be heard from Skippers. SMH. Pool towels are sparse so we had to ask the Front Desk clerk. The pool felt heated, but the spa was close to the same temperature with jets that barely worked. Check out is at 11am, but the maids tried to open our door at 9am. The bathroom is tight where the door closely opens to the toilet & hits the shower rod as a stopper. The fixed North 39 shampoo, wash, & conditioner in the shower functioned even with the pump end broken off. This Courtyard’s only selling point is it’s location. We will not be returning.

Dear jfu143 Thank you for your feedback. I read your review several times and while I value my guest thoughts, allow me to say this. My front desk team are passionate about upgrading guest complimentary. However it's not possible every time. Skippers Dockside is within walking distance and all of our guests usually walk there. If there one thing we have an overly abundance of is pool towels at a 6 par level. I apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations. Thank you for being our guest.

So you say “ I have a reservation “ and the reply is “ I don’t know how you were able to reserve that room?!”. Well this is going to be bad...The next response is we held the next best room for you which is two queens ( reserved a king suite) but it’s right next to the elevator ( means no sleep). No, that won’t do since we need to sleep. The next best is a single queen room which is away from the elevator and on the third floor. So long story short the lady behind the desk made our day better after a very bad start. She put us in a room on the top floor, facing the canal which we enjoyed the view the next morning. We definitely forgot about the king room we originally reserved. Forgot to mention free breakfast and price reduction of $30. We didn’t get her name but THANK YOU again! But besides the outcome, the hotel is dated and not worth the price they originally asked. Marathon courtyard I think is rated better so check it out before booking Key Largo.

After driving all day we arrived at 0200 only to have to bang on the front doors to get the attention of the front desk clerk. The weekend rate was $313/night over the 4th of July weekend and for that rate we had a room overlooking the parking lot and gas station. Front desk personnel were lacking in any type of “friendly” or “courteous” service. One could not even bother to look up from the computer to make eye contact when responding to a question my husband had asked. Would neither recommend nor stay here again. Disappointing.

This place is just okay. Masks are supposedly required due to COVID but it was not enforced and many people were all over the lobby without masks and noone at the desk said a thing. Also, we were not acknowledged as Gold members, no upgrade offered and they even wanted to charge me $3 for a bottle of water. When we commented on lack of upgrade and amenities, the desk clerk said, "hey, it's a Courtyard...." not a very good answer for a loyal Marriott person to hear. The pool area and hallways were very noisy at night though it did seem to quiet down by 11:30. The room was large but the AC was very noisy. When it was on, the room was freezing and when it was off, the room was hot. Place needs an update. I would have told them this on check out but no one even asked how we enjoyed our stay. Not up to Marriott standards in my opnion.

during this years high season with rates exceeding $600/night we used our points on this 2 nights stay. Room was great, with nice balcony and nice canal view.
covered free parking is nice as well and limited but ok breakfast options.
a nice outdoor tiki bar would complete this place, however plenty stuff within walking distance, as in center of Key Largo. service was very good, friendly people.
Pool water was cold though, not heated, but we will return when rates come down
as these are JW Marriott levels, even during high season.
