Stayed on a Saturday overnight and was pleasantly surprised. Not only is the hotel very nice but being Saturday night we had a bonus entertainment at the bandstand which is walking distance. Also restaurants nearby.

I'd say very child friendly. There is the pool at the hotel and a playground about 75 feet to the right when exiting out the back door. The ocean is exactly 1 mile away, with plenty of free parking. Across from the ocean parking lot is a large park with some play areas. Plus, just walking around Harbourside Place is fun...with many shops, a few kid-friendly restaurants (Another Broken Egg) and an ice cream parlor.
