On a vacation with my husband from Utah and wanted to head over to Florida and we saw the reviews about the ocean view on the diplomat. We booked a room to face and the ocean and all I can say was wow you need to book an ocean side room they are absolutely gorgeous. The beach is also very lovely and both pool and beach attendants were very friendly. Thanks to ethan for guiding us towards the bar and restaurant and helping us with are towels.

Hotel's Favourite
First, Gloria provides exceptional customer service and should be commended. She was the first interaction I had with anyone at the hotel (when I called with some questions before arrival) and set a warm, inviting tone that resonated through our entire stay. I am a tall individual, and she made sure the beds in our room would fit me well. I also spoke with her upon check-out, when she exuded the same warmth. I really hope management recognizes that customer service people are not interchangeable and that an outstanding, caring person like Gloria can make a real difference in both the customer experience and the business the hotel does. We had an exceptional time at The Diplomat through-and-through. The pool area was spectacular – I mean spectacular, even beyond what the photos indicate – and I was EXTREMELY grateful for two things: (1) It was open from early in the morning until late into the evening, and (2) it had a jetted hot tub. Please keep those two items the same for our future visits! It was extremely clean and was beautifully lit in the evening for a romantic swim. We also appreciated it was partially covered, which came in quite valuable during the sunniest parts of the day. It was being constantly cleaned and scrubbed by a kind army of pool workers overseen by a very observant and competent manager who made sure every nook and cranny was in top condition. A shout-out to the very kind Peter, who works in the pool area. I just loved the layout of the whole area and the way you descend into it from a nicely appointed upper area that has comfortable tables and chairs for casual meetings / relaxation. To get one con out of the way before continuing with the good stuff - as some other reviewers have noted, there was no real breakfast option, forcing us to an off-site cafe for breakfast and detracting from the fully relaxing, all-in-the-resort experience we'd hoped for. The coffee shop (Counterpoint) had a few breakfast-y items that some hotel staff seem to refer to as breakfast, but this resort really, really needs a legitimate breakfast option (omelettes, pancakes, etc.). I don’t think covid was to blame for this – there is just no restaurant on-site that serves an “American breakfast.” Continuing with the good stuff, Playa restaurant/bar was superb, especially the drunken chicken tacos and kind service. It is perfectly situated within the pool area and has options to dine/drink at the bar, at tables overlooking the beach, or to bring food/drinks back to your chair (or even have the food brought to you!). Its vibes are exactly the vacation-ey feelings you picture when you want to go away, and it takes you totally away from your day-to-day worries and puts you in a world of care-free relaxation. Access to the beach was easy. There were multiple places to get pool/beach towels. Though two beach chairs daily were complementary, I was disappointed to be quoted a $22/day fee for a beach umbrella, which was high enough to preclude us from renting an umbrella and sitting on the beach. We're already paying a substantial resort fee - why not just throw in the umbrella and make the whole experience a happy one? This is not the place for a cash-grab. The lobby was beautiful and well-appointed. I like that they set back the check-in desk from the rest of the lobby - it makes the lobby more relaxing overall. The coffee shop’s lattes and “old-fashioned donut” were outstanding. We wish to thank the hotel’s General Manager for an absolutely outstanding experience, and we wish to thank Hilton for investing the resources into this hotel to make it so amazing. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to return to The Diplomat!

I am here for a convention going on in the diplomat and I have to say it is a wonderful location for everything and well put together. After my convention I headed down to the pool and ethan approached me asking how the convention went and if I enjoyed it. He also offered me some towels but I was not going into the pool in my jeans 😅. I went over to the bar to take a peak at what they have and wow they have a lot. Lovely other residents spoke with me and told me how there stay is going and they also loved it. 10/10 place to be.

Checked in today and was greeted by valet with such great attitude and handled my wife and I very good. Went to check in at the front desk and they were super professional and helpful. I headed up to my room and was amazed of the room and view. We set are bags down and wanted to check out the lovely pool and beach super badly. Headed down and ethan greeted us and asked about are day and what brings us in today. I spoke to him and he was very genuine and had great conversations with us about the area and where we should eat tonight. All in all very good first day experience.
