The hotel is dirty and old, see photos. We were supposed to stay one night - arrival at 9pm. When we get there, they tell us our room had been cancelled. An email had been sent to us two hours before at 7pm (we were in the plane)! Instead of a room for 4 at 105 dollars, they magically found a room for 2 at 270 dollars! So some of us had to sleep on the floor without a mattress and on a chair. I beg you, go somewhere else.

This place has a cute, tacky sign and is affordable ($75 for single, $85 for double). It is very close to the airport. It has big TVs in each room and a large bed. There is loud talking and constant coming and going from the rooms. Late in the evening a person next door was shouting about money. I suspect there is small-time drug activity happening. But the price is right, right? At 6AM, I was awoken by the sound of a stranger entering our room. I thought I might be dreaming and quietly asked the person to leave. They gestured to the extra bed and I realized I wasn't dreaming and got out of bed to chase this guy out of our room. I couldn't believe it. My wife and I were asleep and all our documents and money were accessible. It was pretty disturbing. The front desk doubted what had happened when we called them. They reviewed the security cameras and said that the gentleman had let himself in, that the door was unlocked and that it was our fault. Then the guy who had broken into our room casually walked right into the lobby and started eating the complimentary breakfast. I was totally floored by this experience. Palacio Inn Motel is an unsafe crack den and shouldn't be listed on TripAdvisor. Stay somewhere else if you value your property and privacy.

We stayed there the night before our cruise. Never having been to Miami we didn’t know what to expect but we knew what NOT to expect. First of all the whole area seemed sketchy which was confirmed when we had to be buzzed into the office & then the clerk was behind plexiglass. There were also a couple of guys just hanging out in the outer office. We had a bad feeling about the place from the get-go but we had already paid the $153 US which was non-refundable. We were not feeling very safe especially once we saw the room. To start with the lock did not feel very secure. The room was filthy. I don’t think the doors or the door handles had ever been washed. The fridge had black mold around it. We both use CPAP machines so needed an electrical outlet but couldn’t find one that worked. Even the one in the bathroom didn’t work. We finally pulled the dresser on the other side of the room out from the wall & found one there. Luckily we had an extension cord with us. When we got to the bathroom we were appalled. There was a leak from above into the ceiling tile over the bathtub. It had been like that for quite awhile because mold had formed. The air conditioner was very noisy but the good thing about that was that it drowned out the drip, drip, drip of the shower & outside noise. I had a shower in the morning but made it very quick because I was afraid the tile would come down on my head. As for breakfast, there was no way we would eat anything from such a dirty & sketchy place. Even with showers we still felt dirty. Will NEVER go back & recommend that you don’t either.

I am giving one star because there is nothing less to give. Here is a list on problems: Whatever leaking from a toilet ( considerable amount of water, had to go the office 3 times, bathroom poorly cleaned , residues of bars of soaps sitting there for a while, all kinds of hair accumulated as well. Changed rooms after 3rd attempt, new room had no shades on window, toilet did not work properly there either. As per receptionist, there is nobody available to report a problem on week ends or holidays, people listening to music at a very loud volumes practically the whole night. "Breakfast" when I was there was just white bread displayed in a tray and a toaster nearby, some bars of butter ( yes, the ones you use for cooking ) close to the toaster and some little containers of jelly. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

Ok, so where to begin? First off, their website advertises shuttle transportation to/from MIA, which is apparently 1.6 miles away. Well, there's no shuttle and it may be 1.6 miles if you're a crow flying but it's a lot longer than that if you use roads. Reception was more like prison check-in with rough looking staff safely tucked away behind a full height bulletproof screen. The room was dark, grubby and generally uninviting. The very thin door allows all the noise from the main road right outside and if you're really unlucky, all the car alarms that go off in the parking lot during the night. Continental breakfast was an absolute joke. What you get is a pot of filter coffee and a plate with a few slices of white bread on it; unless it's empty, which it was whenever somebody actually wanted to have breakfast. So unless you like wasting your money and receiving terrible service, I'd suggest finding one of the other many airport hotels and you might even enjoy your stay in Miami.

Within 1 hour we found 4 cockroaches on the walls. Under the bed (where we wanted to put our suitcases) we discovered some bottles and papers. At least, the rest of room was clean. The breakfast is so poor that you can avoid it. Not pleasant place for family with kids. Better to pay 20 USD more and go to another hotel.
