We were here 1 year ago...and it was our #1 in this area. This year, we checked in on 1/16 late afternoon...and the woman who checked us in was MISERABLE. We were in a good mood but someone ruined her day so she was happy to ruin ours. We checked in...got in the room and it was clean...and solid. The next morning, no towels in fitness center or pool. Breakfast was terrible. I know hotel breakfast isnt gourmet...i actually like them...but they had cheerios...microwave waffles...and thats about it..oh...eggs were ok. I needed a cleaning towel so I went to the maid in the laundry....I do this all the time....asked her for a cleaning rag....she said, we're washing them...I said...all of them? She said, Im not giving you one. Ummm...ok...well, overall room was ok...but staff was mostly miserable....one guy did give me a pool towel and he was nice. Let him train the staff...either the owner or managers arent doing it right.…
This is a newer Fairfield. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. The bedding is comfortable. Common areas are bright and welcoming. The front desk staff are well trained and very dedicated to helping out with situations. I stayed in July and the swimming pool water was actually too warm.....that hot Florida sun keeps it like bath water! The hotel is well situated for the Keys or Miami or the Everglades. Large free parking lot. My only critique was the very, very lame breakfast. Some scrambled eggs, sausage and a packaged muffin. The only fruit was an orange. No yogurt, no hard boiled eggs no other fruit options such as a banana. There wasn't even sliced bread to make toast. I travel about 200 nights a year and have Marriott Gold status. This was probably the worse breakfast I ever saw. If the GM can improve this area he/she will have a real gem!…
Our family of three traveled here to visit Miami, Everglades NP, and FL Keys during the year-end holiday. This location offered easy access. Now, about this hotel. - On check-in, the room really smelled. It was probably from some spicy food, like kim-chi. The first bath towel I picked up had a strand of curly hair, and it had a damped odor. - Breakfast included, only if you can find food. Food ran out EARLY but was never replenished. We tried 7:30 AM. Even then it was a struggle. No coffee. No bananas. No pastries. Eggs and sausages? Good luck if you try and wait. It was not difficult to see why there were dirty spills and angry crowds. The staff basically threw the towels and left? And this situation was consistent for our entire week of stay. So make sure you have Plan B. - Sign at the front desk said "no housekeeping unless requested one day earlier." Ok, that works. Didn't want anyone to come in unless requested anyway. But here's the rub. By "housekeeping' the hotel means "empty the trash" and only that. So towels, toilet paper/tissue, bed sheets, floor vacuum: all of those were no touch. To make it easy for the staff, we packed our personal belongings so they can clean easily the bathroom counters and floors when they came in. We even called in the morning to make sure they had us down for the day. Obviously, they set the bar pretty low and they meant it. The pile of spent towels were right there on the bathroom floor when we came back. - Oh, and the shower drain, which must be mentioned: It gets stuck very quickly. So on the second or third night of showering, you are going to have a pool of backflow (which is pretty disgusting...). Obviously, it is a common issue and the cleaning staff knows. They congregated and talked about it in the hallway as we walked by someone's room. And by the way, this wasn't in their "housekeeping" routine. Someone should do the dirty work, as it seemed, was the mentality. - The desk/table is black, so beware. Bugs crawl. We found ants on the table, so look very carefully and think what you put there during the day. - Most of the staff at the front desk were helpful. We checked in late on the first night and the gentleman took care of us quickly. Daily runs for towels and stuff needed for the room were met with the level of service expected at any hotels of this range. On Jan 2 when we checked out at 8 AM, however, it was... "different": No greetings on our departure. Not even asked how the stay had been." The lady who seemed to be a manager simply asked whether I wanted a paper copy of the statement. I parted the front desk quietly. She probably heard enough of complaints. It really showed how indifferent the hotel was towards guests' experience. Again, if your destinations are same as above, Homestead Floriday City is very convenient especially if you have a longer stay and want to save some time on switching hotels. But next time I will look across the street for other options and not stay here. The bad reviews on the hotel website: Yeah, they proved to be true. …
We stayed here in Jan 2023 having stayed at many Fairfield inns before we were expecting the same service only to be unimpressed. This was by far our worst hotel experience with Fairfield. We were not given soap, enough towels, the pillows were WELL used to the point that the stuffing was balled in every pillow. They claim to have breakfast yet they did NOT have coffee, milk, cream, yogurt, bread or meat. This is not breakfast! They also charge extra for parking which was NOT mentioned in our booking at the front desk. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere! The managers do not care about servicing customers. The breakfast was apparently none existent for days according to other guests.
I was there with 3 others we had Queen rooms, soon as I checked in I was advised they only clean if you ask the night before, so right away I asked if there were towels for four, told there should be. Of course there was not. Went down and it was hard to get more towels then and throughout our stay. I was told they were drying. Which is crazy a hotel can’t have towels a available. Then one night I asked for toilet paper got total attitude and asked to wait till morning since there was no toilet paper. Again what kind of hotel can’t get you toilet paper. Breakfast was non existent our entire stay, no milk, but cereals. When I spoke to manager he did comp a night, but a hotel should be better run.
Beautiful city view hotel and ver comfortable stay! Delicious and awesome breakfast! Mike Checked me in he was very nice. Amanda checked me out she was really sweet. I would definitely go here again!!
Super clean. Very modern (it's a newly-built hotel). The suite had plenty of room and comfortable beds. Easy parking and WiFi. Common areas are bright and welcoming as well. Check-in was quick, easy and friendly. The front desk staff is terrific. Homestead is a gateway location for Miami, the Everglades and the Florida Keys. So there's really not much that's, you know ... here. But this new Fairfield is a convenient stopping point--right off the highway--on the way to other places.
Great hotel. Clean rooms. Nice bed. East in easy out. Good location. We just needed a place to stop off on way to keys. It was perfect. It was just my son and I. Front desk guy was great. Made us feel welcome. Helped me get extra pillows. I would return.
They walked us late at night because the internet was down. The GM, Zach, was not there and when walking us, refused to do anything. We are titanium members and per the Marriott T&C we are due compensation and they are denying paying the room and HE is denying it and scamming Marriott members.
It was very late and accommodations in Key West was not to our liken so since we were going to be in miami beach the following day we head north at about 8pm and looking but could not finding suitable accommodations anywhere until we got to this Fairfield it was great for us the price was reasonable and Mike makes our checking a breeze we had a 3yr old so you know how that goes you have to stay somewhere suitable for a child, after our travel discount we dash to our rooms in minutes I was knocked out I give Mike and the Fairfield Marriott 100%.
