I was somewhat hesitant based on one or two of the reviews, but decided to be adventurous, and was really glad I did. I am a middle aged female who happened to be traveling by myself. The room was spotlessly clean, and had all the...More

If you crave chain motel consistency, Sportsman's Lodge is not for you. But if you want character, basic cleanliness, great value, a natural setting, and friendly, personal treatment, this is the place. We stayed in a standalone cottage room with a large deck for lounging...More

Kind of a quirky place. Apparently it used to actually be a fishing lodge and had a nice restaurant on the water but it is really only a motel now. You can keep a boat there and launch from a public ramp next door but...More

Just got back from there today, Oct 26th. We went there just to get away for a couple of days. It is a different type of place than a fancy motel/hotel, very old and sorta looks thrown together, but we enjoyed being there a lot!...More

Are these people who have posted serious? I have lost all value for the ratings from others on Tripadvisor. Seriously, in what world would this hotel be accepted to achieve such inflated ratings? This is beyond description and quite possible could be construed as a crime against humanity. I feel sorry for those who have valued this service like I and choose to reside at the Sportsman's Lodge based on these misleading posts. WOW...WTFF?
