It's possible that owners are reluctant to let pets stay in their properties in case future guests have allergies? That could be a reason why many owners have a no-pet policy. Also, the turn-around time for housekeeping to clean in between guests is pretty short. You might be a responsible pet owner, but others are not. It might be hard for housekeeping to thoroughly clean up after a messy pet that has soiled rugs, or torn up furniture. It's a shame that irresponsible pet owners mess it up for those of us with well-trained animals!
