I stayed here with my niece and friend from June 1st through the 7th. It was a decent hotel. They updated the exterior, some areas of the room. It was a decent hotel to just sleep in for the night. Its location is fabulous! It's within walking distance to the Boardwalk, many different restaurants, shops and bars. We practically walked everywhere, except for the few times we took an Uber. The staff were friendly, we asked for a late check out so we wouldn't have to carry our luggage everywhere for the last minute things, but they declined. Check in is 4pm, check out is 11am. For the week we were there though, it wasn't bad. It was one of the mote cheaper options for our budget.

The location is terrific, the staff is friendly, the pool area is nicely done with shade and some comfortable seating. The price was good for the area. The to go breakfast consists of: oatmeal packets, apples, sweet rolls, muffins, juices. The usual continental breakfast. Most of the outside looks nice. The reception area did not give a good first impression of the interior, dark and not well kept. If you can stand the dirty room, then book it. Our room was dingy with poor lighting and dark paint on walls, a hand towel had (what appeared to be makeup) on it. Maybe it just didn't come out when washed?? Saw a spot of blood that did look like it had been washed but was still visible. It was replaced by staff. There appeared to be a hole from a cigarette in the top cover. Curtain wand to open and close drapes was broken. The top layer of the bathroom door was partly off. A bit of mold in the shower area. Yes, this is an older motel and it needs a good cleaning and items replaced. Read the fine print about a $100 deposit.

Yes the hotel is a little dated, but room was clean and spacious. Great water pressure in shower. Close enough to everything we wanted to do. Very nice staff! For the price I would recommend and stay again.

This motel is an older motel with basic amenities. The beds were comfortable and our room was clean. The bathroom is very small and could use updating. The room is very large with a refrigerator and microwave. The room was clean, even though you could tell it was a really old motel. Overall it’s adequate for a nights stay as the location can’t be beat. It’s right across from the Harbor. Even during COVID, they still offered a continental quick breakfast of pastries, juice, and coffee. I haven’t even seen this in hotels. Very appreciated indeed.

I would have given them one star if not for my positive experience with the desk clerk who greeted me the second night of my stay. The other night clerk was cold and contemptuous of me. They advertise free wi-fi. Fine and dandy if it works. My android phone did connect, but my Windows computer never would connect with their login page and I spent three nights wrestling with the settings and going thru page after page of tech experts' "solutions" to that problem with no success. I never managed to connect, but I did waste perhaps five or six hours struggling with the problem during my three nights' stay, time that should have been spent doing the work I had to do. On my third night the clerk assigned me to a room in the back of the hotel next to a couple whose male element was apparently throwing a violent tantrum. I went to the office to ask the clerk to address the problem and told her in addition that I still could not connect to the wi-fi. She showed me that her phone was connected to prove that it worked, turned her back on me, and didn't give a hoot about my problem with the neighbors. On my arrival she had demanded my i.d. and credit card as if she owned them and, grabbing them, charged me for the room and an "amenities" fee (the other clerk hadn't added this), justifying the higher charge by saying that this was the weekend. She had in fact charged me the same price on Thursday night. Besides the above problems and numerous other unlisted ones, I found that the TV remote control in my room was bathed in some viscous liquid. I thought at first that it must be some kind of lotion left on it by a previous guest, but found that in fact the batteries inside had long been leaking and that inside and out the whole thing was soaked with acid. But the Village Inn does truly boast a good location close to the harbor at Destin. If that's your thrill. But I'll tell you a secret: you can stay in much better hotels right on the beach at Panama City Beach for roughly the same price or even considerably less.
