I have been coming here for the past 7 years. I have always had a great time and have made many many friends for which I still keep in touch with. I have stayed in almost all of the cabins, houses and the Inn. I find them all to be terrific. The sunny days at the pool are great. The bar in the evening is so much fun. The food is fantastic. The help and the owners are also extremely accommodating. I try to go at least 2-3 times during the winter months. It is a great place to go and unwind. Get off the social media if you wish, however, they do have wifi in the lodge and the cell service has gotten much better. I just love sitting by the pool and the barn fires in the evening. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Themed weekends are fun too. Go and have a wonderful time. You will not regret it. You will make forever friends too.…
Hi everyone. I had a terrible unwelcoming experience here today which is too bad because I loved it here my first visit. So .. Martin confronted me aggressively with his car as I was parking. I am new to the area and I am not familiar will all the rules. Martin stated that I didn’t stop at the clubhouse to register which is true however, the last time I visited which was in May I did register everything at that time , the office was closed. I got the cell phone number of Martin and he sent me a square payment invoice that I paid. This time around(today) because I was driving a different car with a different license plate my intention was to park and text Martin to let him know I’m here for the day and pay if needed for the day. It was my impression based on my first time that during COVID the office is closed and any day trippers are to text on arrival as he told me in May. This did not go well with the man in change and he made me feel totally uncomfortable and after driving 2 hours to get to Vitambi I left. 4 hours driving for nothing. It’s really interesting how someone who owns a business during COVID times aggressively turns someone away just because they are not familiar with the rules. He could have said ... hey come on over to the office it’s open now we accept people inside now(which I didn’t know) Good luck to him and Vitambi as the website and Facebook are not giving clear updated information. Oh and get on Twitter to inform people of changes it will help you modernize...which you need.…
First time here... found on Internet while we were looking for anyplace over 70 degrees in November (escaping midwest AND retiring!). Bottom line: beautiful beautiful beautiful grounds! Owners have appreciation for and commitment to protect land and wildlife. (If you go, do the hayride which brings you deep into the back , undeveloped area of the property) RV sites wonderful... the pic of the pond and flowers was the view we enjoyed. Bar: relaxed, friendly... great place to meet fellow travellers... great bartenders whose personalities add to the social lubricant. Food: primo! Would have never expected the quality (or quantity). We came for Thanksgiving... the flow of food didn't end. Amazingly tender, savory turkey and dressing to die for. Freshly baked treats appeared at random intervals... including on the hay ride trail. Obviously the staff love the place, the work, and their customers. In case you haven't figured it out, Vitambi has risen to the top of my reviews for food, bar, environment and most importantly service. This is an LGBT oriented destination... probably the reason for the excellence we experienced.…
I have stayed in an RV once, and twice in a tent (once with electric and once without). From the very first instant we walked through the door at the Lodge, I knew this was not like other gay campgrounds I have stayed at for 'women's weekends'. The staff flat knows what they're doing. Professional and personable, they deliver a great weekend with fun activities. We brought our bikes this time, which makes it easy to get between the pool and the Lodge (about a 1/4 mi). We saw deer every day. The pool is a wonderful respite, and there's a new shade sail! At night, we hung out at the bar, in the restaurant area, and outside (where there's a new screen room!) They allowed us to put up a table on the back porch for our group's use and helped us out with a few tables in our camping area. On Friday night, they invited us all to a lively game in the bar, with prizes and friendly competition. On Saturday, at the bonfire we had a surprise party and the whole staff was out taking part in that (having agreed ahead of time) which was instrumental in its success. We also used the TV room to show a movie Sunday morning. We will continue to support this resort because it is an oasis of fun and beauty, and because they work with and care about us.…
I went with a group of women- some stayed in tents, others RV’s, and my friend and I stayed in a cabin. We were all very happy with our choice of accommodation. The food was very good! The entertainment at the bar was very nice- prices on the house! 🤗 All common areas were clean, bathrooms as well, and well-equipped. The staff was very accommodating, Always polite, and went over and beyond to keep us happy! Thank you so much!!
