I booked for 2 nights. The rooms were awful. The first one I stayed in, the bathroom sink was significantly rusted and not safe for use. I asked to be moved and was moved to another room. The toilet in that room was not cleaned and I called front desk. Her response was "Again?!" They came by and cleaned the toilet. I purchased disinfectant from the corner store and cleaned the bathroom myself before use. Then that night, water from upstairs leaked through the ceiling of the bathroom. I went to front desk and asked to be moved to a third room and that one stunk of smoke and had ants in the kitchen. I asked for early checkout and to not be charged for the second day and I was still charged. This place is not hygienic or safe for public use. They cut corners on all aspects, including housekeeping and maintenance. I would NEVER recommend this place, even for my worst enemy (if I had one).

Hotel's Favourite
The name of the hotel on Choice .com is Rodeway inn Central Clearwater Beach. This is extremely misleading because it is 7 miles away on a very major highway. It could take 15 minutes to an hour to get to the beach from there depending on traffic. The room itself was nice & well worth the price. We were in a handicap room & if that's needed there are a few problems. The toilet only has a bar on the left side (while seated). So if you need a bar on the other side, you're out of luck. Also the shower wand is at chest height (if seated). They need an attachment to raise is for non handicapped visitors. There was a sink, mini-fridge & microwave but no dishes or silverware. There was a small table to eat. I'd stay again because it was a good value.

We had a 3-day reservation booked well in advance. We arrived there at 5pm on a Saturday night, ready to check in. They didn't have the rollaway bed we paid for and wouldn't do anything to accommodate us (I wanted the $$ back we had paid for the rollaway, and to see how much room there was on the floor because there weren't enough beds now), so we told them not to cancel our reservation, but we would look into other options. While I was on the phone talking to Choice Hotels, the front desk lady interrupted me and yelled out that she cancelled my reservation. I asked to talk to the manager but she said the manager made the decision. It turns out the prices had gone up 300% from the price we paid, and if they cancelled they could make more $$ and not get a potentially bad review for their booking mistake. It was cold outside and my family was waiting in the car and my cellphone wasn't fully charged, so I sat on the lobby couch to attempt to make a reservation somewhere else. She told me to get out. At this point I knew hotels were really booked up and my cellphone was almost dead and had to be plugged in, and I didn't want to leave because I needed my phone plugged in to find a place to stay. She called the police and this seems to be her standard method of cancelling reservations when there is an issue. Police issued me a trespassing notice but then helped me attempt to find a room, to no avail. For 6 hours we searched, and at 11 pm we finally gave up and slept in the car in a Walmart parking lot. It was cold, I got a crick in neck and got a massive migraine the next day while we were still homeless. So I spent the day puking in a car in the parking lot on our vacation, thanks to these nasty people who have no human decency. While we were there, two other customers were furious with the front desk lady for other issues.

I had booked a stay at this hotel through Hotels.com, but had to cancel. The cancelation policy was to be charged 1 night stay, which was completely understandable, but they did not stop at 1 night they charged my account for the entire stay. Hotels.com said I had to wait 7-10 business days for my money back. I don't understand why I got charged and Hotels.com said the property would be who did that and I would need to contact them, but there is a problem. I have been trying day and night to call this hotel and it just continues to ring no one answers the phone to be able to speak to anyone. I have worked for a Choice hotel and I know they can change the option at the hotel level to charge only for one night, so there was no reason to charge me for an entire stay when I did not stay. I am usually a fan of Choice hotels, but after this I will do my research before booking with a Choice hotel.

I checked in on sunday February 20th. Omg where to begin? I thought it was odd checking in through a sliding hoass window like a drive through. The young man gave me and he could barely form a sentence not to sure if he was in something. Right there i should have known. While walking past open doors of other rooms it was apparent that this hotel is for crackheads and meth addicts. Maybe the dead giveaway was the two guys strung out two doors down on the balcony as i had to step over them. The best was opening the door and walking into the room. Holy shoot it looked like a place where when someone gets out of prison and needs a place to live. I opened one drawer of the dresser and three cockroaches ran. Maybe it was the sink, dirt on the bathroom mirror or was it the poop in the toilet that was the sign this place was frightening and gross. I turned around went back to the sliding window and told him the person wtf is this. Mind you this took only five minutes and this jagaloon at the window says “when did you check in?” I handed him my key and wanted my money back. Still waiting to be reimbursed. Oh lets not forget this place is next to a strip joint. Absolutely DO NOT even drive by this place.

I made a reservation for a ground floor room. When I arrived they said that the only first floor room they had was a "special smoking room". Special indeed, it had a basket of dirty laundry blocking the door, was grossly dirty, the cold water did not work, no chairs in the room, the TV did not work and it reeked of smoke. Hotels.com said the place was pet friendly with no mention of a pet charge, but when I arrived the hotel up-charged me for a small dog. STAY AWAY!

There were some positive aspects to my stay. But I will not use them. When I left. some items, including prescription medicine were left behind. I take full responsibility for that. When I became aware of it at home, I immediately contacted the front desk. She said that housekeeping was gone for the day and to call back the next day. I did. The person I talked to promised to check and call back in 5 minutes. She did not. I called two hours later. She said she would check the room herself and call back. She did not. I called her an hour later. She said she had tried she had tried to call several times and received a message that the number was disconnected. I told her, obviously not since we were talking. By the way, if she wrote it down wrong, she could have checked her records, since I just checked out yesterday. She said she had checked the room personally and the property room and that nothing was there. I asked her what she thought happened, since the bag was packed in the room and not opened until Illinois. She ranted at me saying it was all my fault. I told her I accepted responsibility for leaving things, but that did eliminate the possibility of theft or carelessness by whoever cleaned the room on Friday after I left. I did not appreciate her yelling at me or accepting any other possibilities. For that reason, I will not stay at this place again. Find someone professionally trained in customer service to run the front desk. In addition I should add, I was not pleased. The hotel was not responsible for hoggish guests. But the upstairs patios and hallways were filled with cigarette butts and other trash. I made one desk clerk aware of the situation. I suggested more trash receptacles be made available and maybe signs posted to remind guests to be more considerate of other guests. he barely listened to me. Frankly, I don't know if their some of the front desk people give a damn about customer service or are just earning a paycheck.

I stayed here for one night on a business trip. In hindsight I should have paid another $25 to stay in a better place but honestly. For this price this place is fine. They have laundry, $2 to wash and $2 to dry,. Soap for $1. Nobody bothered me. Ac and refrigerator worked great. Took a bath in the tub. My dog was fine with the wood floors. There are some people who like live here but it was fine. If you need a cheap place to stay this is a decent option and it has a pool.

I really like the staff here I understand that it's a old building, but they do everything in the power to make it comfortable and clean as possible. their curtious and very polite. they talk to you not at you. I say this to say it's indian owned. I'm by far prejudice, but I have enounted some hotel who are indians as well and I have work front desk manager for some and just like them here are sincere and I have encountered those who belittle customer, talk at you. basically look at you as your less than. because of some of the customers that attract. and even when you show they who you are, they still try to make you less than. well I'm treated equal. if you are on budget this the place for your money

The bed was horrible. Not maintained room, very rusty refridgerator microwave hiding it on top of it. The stove top was also a disaster, rusty. The ceiling spackle was a mess in need of repair. The large mirror was hanging crocked. The sink water sprayed all over the place & on you! None of the lamps worked you had to use overhead lights. It was a large room but the repairs would have improved the experience tremendously. The pool was nice. Ok for a short stay but dn't recommend longer.
