The Faraway Inn is one of the few remaining old Florida properties. It's a series of small cottages across the street from the ocean. The cottages have small kitchens and each is different. They rent golf carts on site and have kayaks and bicycles available for guests. They also accept pets for a fee. Staff is wonderful! They can't do...

The staff at the Faraway is wonderful and will get you anything that you need. The grills, sunset view, covered swings, and canoes/kayaks are also great amenities. They are undergoing some renovations from the storm this past fall and the new tile and furniture in the rooms are beautiful. In fact, the whole island is a happy place to be....

We loved our little cottage. Full kitchen and very comfy beds. Made great use of the free canoes and kayaks. The bikes are in pretty bad state of disrepair, and only two were rideable, which was a bummer. Beautiful view of sunset on the swings by the water. Don't miss it. Shelly was very friendly and accommodating.

It was as if we were visiting our friends who had a house on the coast and they thought of everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Shely and Jamie were helpful and pleasant. Our cottage was clean, comfortable and well stocked. We love to...

We came last year for my birthday and we are back and have secured next year's reservation. We were concerned about the FarAway Inn with the storm last September. Our favorite room (gulf view 12 )was in the final stages of repair so our reservations changed and we were in cottage 2, which is very spacious and comfortable plus has...

Loved the way Faraway Inn looked when i arrived. Loved the vibe and the Old Florida feel. Then I encountered on my walk around, a large man, barely able to control his LARGE unfriendly Rottweiler. The pet owner's comment: "Now we must let this nice lady get by, won't we, Rover (or whoever)?" Rover snarled. I got by. But these...

Our room at The Faraway Inn was clean with a comfortable bed. The room was tiny with a very antiquated kitchen section in the bedroom and bath. Faucets in both kitchen & bath were green from corrosion. Biggest problem was that water from the shower in the adjacent room ran under the door and wet our things on the floor....

Some of our friends are probably 'too good' for this place. NOT us! This is quaint, quiet, old, perfectly imperfect, historic, laid back and it has a great personality. We are going back for a second year in a row. Love it!
