Found this place on Trip Advisor and the reviews were absolutely right. Stayed here on our way to south Florida and would definitely stay here again. Two couples traveling. We had the Hemingway and Magnolia Rooms. They were clean and comfortable. We had absolutely no complaints. We were given a voucher for breakfast at 2 Al's and this is not...

My husband and I wanted a special holiday week getaway and after planning our route decided on the Old Carrabelle Hotel for one of our overnight spots. As mentioned by others, "our envelope" was in the mailbox by the front door with instructions about locking the house and our room key. This was perfect for us not knowing exactly when...

Thank you, Thank you-- for articulating your review so well. Before launching out into the B&B world early this century, we did copious research into what people wanted, figuring that we should make sure that we could produce it. One of the most frequent subjects was innkeeper attention. Not all, but most people didn't want "too much fussing". No problem....

Kudos to Kathy and Skip, innkeepers extraordinaire, for making Winchester Cottage such a lovely home-away-from-home. When we read on the site that Carrabelle has “No traffic lights, but that’s how we like it!” we knew we’d found the perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. If the destination was just right, the accommodations were even better! Not only was the...

It is always a pleasure to be able to escape the daily hustle and bustle and just relax. We enjoyed our stay at The Old Carrabelle Hotel and appreciated the hospitality of our hosts. We learned incredible history of this inn from our hosts and it painted a great historical picture of this city. How great is it to be...

A quaint, charming, romantic, intimate hotel improved by the owners natural graciousness. The area is equally appealing offering a variety of activities and wonderful dining. The local oysters are world famous and are better than expected.

Carrabelle today is the kind of place where children can play in the front yard safely, and folks don't need to lock their doors. I rode in on a cold and overcast Christmas Eve, planning to go to the Christmas Vigil a block from the Old Carrabelle Hotel. The owners did not close the hotel to go see their family...

The hotel doesn't look like much from the curb, but once inside the place is very cool. It's a documented old home in downtown Carrabelle Fl.. The rooms are quaint and clean and the bathrooms are large and awesome. I've stayed there twice and will again when passing through.

We love returning guests, even from Destin! (where there are a million things to do, along with a million others to do them with you :) Thanks for taking the time to write. Your comment about our exterior: we are very aware of the roof appearance in particular since it is the most visible house part from a distance. We...

This was our first time in a B&B. We stopped to stay here for our 1 year anniversary. We were there on a thursday night and there was only 1 other person in there with us. So quiet and peaceful. The owner Kathy gave us some info on the area. I tried to meet Skip, which is her husband, but...

The Old Carrabelle Hotel is located right in the middle of the recently-recognized "Big Bend Scenic Byway" on what is known (with perhaps a touch of Chamber of Commerce irony) Florida's "Forgotten Coast." Just 1 1/2 hours southeast Panama City's sprawl and ghastly overdevelopment, Carabelle might as well be a million miles away, and the Old Carrabelle Hotel is the...

We went to Carrabelle to visit our son and had never stayed in a B&B before, well, we were pleasantly surprised! I LOVE the laid back atmosphere, the rooms were clean and cozy. We loved sitting on the upper deck having a glass of wine, watching the sun set. Waking up to the smell of coffee is just like home,...

That's funny! Lest we give a wrong impression: 1. There is a fireplace in Hemingway's bathroom 2. We do not cook in it 3. Vonne meant to say "cool" -- ! We are looking forward to seeing you again in May! Skip and Kathy

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Carrabelle Hotel in Carrabelle, Florida is a "Key West style inn on The Forgotten Coast". Once the end-of-the-line railroad hotel, now you may enjoy all the modern comforts in an Old Florida casual atmosphere. There is just something about the experience of a 1900-ish inn at the coast (or a coastal cottage at the coast) that no newer motel-hotel can equal. And we are a very different B&B operation - free beach restaurant breakfasts for Hotel guests, and self check-in -- just for starters. Make your own reservation online, and receive back a confirmation with all the info you may need. Don't Expect: traffic lights, lots of people, McHamburgers, bungee jumps or late-night noise. Do expect: the best seafood, eco-activity opportunities in every direction, cultural/historical activities and a lot of peace and quiet time on the property, in the forest or on the beach or water! ... more   less
