The Carrabelle Hotel was convenient to the entire village. Our room was very nice and the setting was quite quaint. The Carrabelle Museum, the John David Patton Park and the WWII Museum are just some of the sites to visit.

My wife and I love this place, it was our first stay here and we already booked reservations for next year the same time frame. Location perfect to walk around town to local establishments and a short drive to various other attractions and local towns.

Hi Kim--- In addition to your kind words (for which we thank you), you've reminded us of something. You didn't mention that your visits are business trips, same as a small number of our other visitors. Now we aren't a corporate headquarters location to say the least, but there are a fair number of business travelers in and out. And...

We had a wonderful experience staying at The Old Carrabelle Hotel. From the moment we entered the lobby with it's quaint & charm to the beautiful, clean & comfy room, to early morning coffee on the balcony...we were hooked!! We will definitely be back to this lovely little piece of paradise again & again!!! Thanks to Skip for his hospitality...

We really loved our stay at the Old Carrabelle hotel. Skip made us feel so much at home, it felt almost like we were staying at a friends' place. He gave us excellent advice about restaurants, where to eat and so forth. The room was very nicely decorated, and comfortable. And what's most amazing, this was my favorite hotel during...

Ah, Terturia, what an applecart you've overturned! (ecrivez, we'll explain what that means): We love everything you said, except....the "cheapest" part. We've kept our rates the same, more or less, for 15 years. Some think we need our heads examined, and of course our costs have risen. But on the other hand we are full of guests a great percentage...

A cozy old hotel which has been updated but has not lost its charm. Everything we needed for our one night stay. A map for locating the breakfast locations would be helpful. Skip needs to get busy triming back the palms and trees a little. All in all a great spot at a very reasonable price.

Let me clarify that we are LONG time B & B guests around the country so we KNOW a good owner/host when we meet one. Skip is pompous & condescending, not at all what we're used to. A high brow attitude in a very low brow community. When we dropped by for an impromptu look around I was carrying my...

"Does he stay on the floor?" A simple question, one that causes hives on some small dog owners. Here is information from the internet: "Though he is solidly built and lively and loves to play in the yard, he doesn't need much more exercise than that. A lover of comfort and attention, he enjoys cuddling on laps and snuggling into...

This was my third stay and I think it is a well run place. The charm is undeniable. I have yet to meet the owners, I have met their Inn sitter Rose, Who is wonderful. I almost have reached the point to where I feel like the place is just for me. Its so comfortable just to check in and...

Hi (again!) Kevin-- You may not know that we've there, but we're there...seriously, though, this time we actually were on our own vacation for a change! We highly appreciate how well you express what we are, and what many others aren't. This is not the Waldorf Astoria, nor is it a highrise condo wanna-be. We are 115 or so years...

Located in a quaint old Southern house, this B&B is not representative of other Deep South B&B's where we've stayed, which are usually excellent - comfortable, well-managed and serving a generous and delicious breakfast. Unfortunately the Old Carrabelle Hotel is not very comfortable (our bed sagged in the middle, the room was stuffy and windows were sealed shut), not very...

While not without some charm, this hotel needs better maintenance and more amenities. It does not serve breakfast, but gives vouchers for 3 area restaurants, none of which are open until 7:30 or later. If you need to get an early start, you're out of luck. The owners are seldom around and provide no service: wastebaskets are not emptied, beds...

Thank you for your thorough review. "Charm" is a hard term to pin down, but the national/international chain hotels don't have much of it. We think one reason is too much perfection. We've taken an old (116) building that was used for many purposes over its first century, and made it a quirky, imperfect place but updated for comfort and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Carrabelle Hotel in Carrabelle, Florida is a "Key West style inn on The Forgotten Coast". Once the end-of-the-line railroad hotel, now you may enjoy all the modern comforts in an Old Florida casual atmosphere. There is just something about the experience of a 1900-ish inn at the coast (or a coastal cottage at the coast) that no newer motel-hotel can equal. And we are a very different B&B operation - free beach restaurant breakfasts for Hotel guests, and self check-in -- just for starters. Make your own reservation online, and receive back a confirmation with all the info you may need. Don't Expect: traffic lights, lots of people, McHamburgers, bungee jumps or late-night noise. Do expect: the best seafood, eco-activity opportunities in every direction, cultural/historical activities and a lot of peace and quiet time on the property, in the forest or on the beach or water! ... more   less
