Cycling from Lands End to John O Groats we had to phone in as we were going to be very late arriving, the kitchen was shut but Helen assured us she would make sure we had something to eat. Arriving at close to 9.45pm we were made very welcome by Helen and her partner Adam, nothing was too much trouble...

We stayed there after a day of riding the coast to coast. They were very accommodating. Rooms were basic but nice. The food was the highlight. It was so nice... Breakfast was lovely and the staff were great at all times.

We booked the Highland Drove Inn as the first nights stay on our Coast to Coast bike ride. The owners are so friendly and able to give advice on the best routes and local shops etc. The twin rooms that we stayed in were very comfortable with ensuite shower room with toilet and sink. The rooms had a tv and...

We stopped for a night at this delightful inn a few miles from Penrith. The owner, Donald, runs this charming village pub with rooms, with enthusiasm, obvious experience and great humour. Our room was comfortable and clean. The food was superior - excellent beef and ale pie - and there are specialities such as nile perch for the adventurous. The...

Booked into this place as it was on the C2c cycle route. Situated in nice small village, The Highland Drove is a well appointed country pub with five rooms. Ours was a small twin bedded ròom with a large en suite shower room. Both were well decorated and clean, ideal for anew overnight stay. We dined in the bar area...

This pub is a little gem - very friendly management and staff, wonderful decor and hidden away down a quiet road in a quiet village in a quiet county. We went for the Sunday lunch, which was a choice of beef or lamb and came with the trimmings - Yorkshire Pudding, roast potatoes, vegetables, etc. Whether you sit downstairs or...

The food at the Highland Drove is good as is the service. Also there is a selection of excellent beers. However it's up against some pretty fierce local competition who consistently deliver similar fare at much lower prices. They do some interesting twists on traditional pub food, the stuffed chicken breast was excellent on my last visit.

Real ale excellent. We were staying in the village and it was an excellent 'local', with local beers. Food was good, I had the burger selection which was very imaginative. Tasty. Very good. Nice place.
