We started our Tanzania experience here. It was the perfect spot to acclimate to Africa - we loved everything about it. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms comfortable, staff gracious and welcoming. Food was good. Pool freezing but the kids still enjoyed it! The animal...More
Arumeru River Lodge was a nice lodge. The room was clean and the gardens well maintained and full of little animals. Great bed for sleeping. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great but dinner wasn’t that great. I would stay again.

Stayed here for our first night in Tanzania. Beds were comfortable, and the grounds and buildings are well maintained. Lots of wildlife wandering around the property. Everything was beautiful and relaxing. Restaurant is reasonably priced and the food is great!

If you were with a Safari company, they would pick you up and drop you at the lodge. If you're traveling on your own, you'll probably need to find transportation to the lodge from the airport. You might want to ask someone at the airport to help you with this so as to get a reliable driver. It's about a 30 to 45 minute ride, most of it on roads through the woods.
