Kudrat was in stay checklist from almost 2 years and finally we could make it! What a property and how amazing are the people who run it! Not even for a second we felt we are not at our home! What a parent with kids want is that kids enjoy and cherish the experience which my 12 year old and 4 year old did. Bhawna’s food is amazing and is always fresh and Sudhir’s hospitality is awesome. We had booked for 3 nights and it felt so less. Our son still thinks that Kudrat is his house in Mountains and he will go back and stay there. Rooms were Uber clean with all modern amenities and despite it being cold outside all the arrangements were there in room for heat. View from all areas is spectacular…. Thank you Kudrat for giving us a lifetime memory of stay with you. I don't have words to express my experience and all I can say is we gonna come back :)…
Words can’t truly express our stay at Kudrat. We booked the entire wood house for 3 days and it was just truly amazing. From Rajma Chawal to Eggs Benedict - each meal was just perfect (Bhavna - I won’t be surprised if I see you at Master Chef sometime) Even beyond the property Sudhir made sure we get the best experience and services in the nearby villages when we went for trekking. Kudrat is one of the properties which I don’t mind going again and again. Thanks for all your hospitality Sudhir and Bhavna!
Kudrat is tucked away in a tiny village in the Tirthan valley, far from anything even close to a madding crowd, standing proud in a symphony of wood, stone, fireplaces, deodar trees reaching up to the sky, raised decks, and vantage viewpoints. The drive from Chandigarh is around 7 hours long but pleasant enough with breaks, with gently winding roads and large stretches of plain. While I don’t love mountain drives, these were easier ones to navigate, to be honest. Kudrat is built in multiple levels,( hence a word of caution if you have mobility issues), and hugs the mountain side in the two stone and wood chalets that comprise the abode. The house is beautifully appointed, with curios strewn around strategically, and reflecting the interesting sensibilities of the owners- Bhavna and Sudhir, yet it is warm and welcoming like the cheerful fire that crackles in the living room, bringing together the guests in shared bonhomie. The folks who work here are locals who are friendly and competent, the food orchestrated by Bhavna is customised and perfect for the wintry context, homely, yet slightly elevated (who wants to be exactly at home when you are travelling for a break!), and the dining table is the very soul of Kudrat, where this charming stay brings it all together, under the watchful doe eyes of Ollie, the house cocker spaniel! Our cosy attic room was appointed in gleaming wood, with a balcony and a swing, gorgeously overlooking the hills, a built in fireplace, and the skylights above taking us closer to the sky at night. Sudhir will help you with excursions and rough maps, basis how active or lazy you choose to be. Treks, fishing in season, long walks, drives, or just sitting in the wooden deck with a hot cup of coffee, staring at the peaks in front of you, are all de riguer and democratically so. I would highly recommend the easy hike to the snowy ( in season) meadow in Saarchu, through the quaint Himachali village, and a hot picnic lunch, in the near zero temp ameliorated by a blazing sun, surrounded by the peaks in a 360 ring! Bliss! When we travel to take a break from our hectic existence, and we do a lot of it; I try to look for places that are off the beaten track, personalised, boutique, yet provide all the comforts we are used to in luxurious hotels- without the accompanying anonymity. Kudrat brings it all together with grace and elegance and a soul. If I ever moved to the mountains to run a unique boutique homestay, it would probably look a lot like this! Thank you for the hospitality Bhavna and Sudhir. We absolutely highly recommend this experience to all.…
This was our 1st trip to Himachal and definitely Kudrat surpassed our expectations. Every spot in Kudrat has a stunning view of the valley, the mountains and the river, the deck was our favourite. Every thing is so well thought out, the rooms are super cozy and designed aesthetically, well maintained property and ufffff the food. Bhawana is an incredible host and a great cook. She would enthusiastically cook up delicious food to satisfy our craving. Sudhir knows the place so well and puts in a lot of effort to plan the itinerary. One cannot miss Ollie the cutest dog who is always up for belly rubs. The help staff are very courteous and they make the stay an absolute pleasure. And off course our time spent with Kudrat and her friends will always be close to our heart. This boutique homestay is so serene and beautiful. Kudrat is definitely a piece of heaven on earth and the hosts make this place super special. We would never miss an opportunity to go back to Kudrat. So blessed to have experienced Himachal through this homestay. …

The best thing about Kudrat, apart from its great location which offers stunning views, is that the hosts make you feel at home right from the moment you get there. The staff are very well trained and the entire place is extremely clean. The kitchen staff along with hosts really do make some lip-smacking food - so much so that we didn't feel like trying any other close by restaurant or cafe the 4 days we stayed there. The hosts make a remarkable effort in ensuring their guests have a memorable holiday - including setting you up on treks, picnics, fishing trips etc., complete with maps and contacts of local guides / villagers. Kudrat has been aesthetically and beautifully designed and we had the most relaxing and rejuvenating holiday there. While the location is a bit of a drive from Shimla / Chandigarh, the remoteness ensures that you experience something very different from city life. The place is truly in the lap of nature and designed to give you a unique experience!…
So, you have decided to either explore Tirthan Valley or heard a lot about Kudrat (totally possible!) or looking to shut the mad city life behind you. In any case, let me tell you why Kudrat is amazing (besides the valley of reasons people have already dug into in their reviews!) 1. The Hosts: You know how you always want to visit that aunt who bakes your favorite cookies or takes really good care of you, thinks ahead, and loves to make you feel comfortable? That's how welcoming, warm and thoughtful Bhawna and Sudhir are. If you want privacy, they will respect that but if you want company, they will sit with you for your meals and make you feel at home. Bhawna goes above and beyond -every single meal (Refer to the pic attached). Her food is a work of art - and the villagers she employs swear by it, how much they have learned from her and how patient she has been. If you love to wander like us, Sudhir will make sure you experience it all with his poorly drawn maps (lol) and excellent suggestions for stargazing. Their adorable daughter and of course affectionate dogs are the final glaze on this already sweet deal! 2. Literally away from city madness: The drive up to Kudrat may feel like it takes a while but that's how long it takes nowadays to get truly away from city madness and get spectacular valley views. I love that they are nestled away from everything. Very private and exclusive. 3. The property: Whether you stay in the stone house or the wood house, luxury, comfort, and amazing morning views are guaranteed! Both the houses are tastefully done because at some point in time the hosts lived here. The design, decor, and all interiors are extremely tasteful. If you are in Tirthan, you have to be in Kudrat. There isn't any better way to experience the valley than here. …
An absolutely amazing stay with great hosts and fantastic food. The hosts, Bhavana and Sudhir were extremely welcoming and took very good care of us, be it at the home stay or with helping out on local activities. The home stay itself is elegant but homely and really ticks all the boxes for a comfortable and wholesome experience. The house help is hardworking, helpful and good natured, all of which made the stay even more beautiful. And to top it off, the views from our rooms were worth soaking in every minute. Also, thanks to Kudrat for welcoming us, and Ollie for his energy.
I visited Kudrat homestay at Tirthan Valley first time in September 2020 and had an amazing time with my family. We went hiking, fishing, picnics, BBQ, fireplace, bonfire the works.... I visited again in October 2022 and the superhosts Bhawna & Sudhir have made this place even more fantastic. Decor is effortlessly comfy & luxurious, food is fabulous, views are to die for and the quality of hospitality is top notch. This is a hidden gem in Himachal Pradesh, anyone who loves the peace & relaxation of the mountains will love this place!!!
Thirthan valley was in my bucket list for almost 8 yrs and at last we made it possible. As we were searching for a good place to stay Kudrat the name caught our attention. Just like the name this place was a paradise for us. Beautifully built a 7 bedroom stone cottage with spacious room personal balcony and very neat bathroom . The view from the room is picturesque. Snow capped mountain ranges . Kudrat being in an altitude of 6200 Ft we can hear the Thirthan river gushing down below.Just to sit in the balcony and watch the the scenic beauty itself is mesmerizing. Clouds come up from down below. After a rain and when the sun comes out u can see beautiful rainbows. Sunrise and sunset is a treat to watch and how the colour of the mountain changes. At night time the skies are full of stars I really wished it was a full moon time we had gone. Any direction you go we can have many trails for trekking and every view point makes u spellbound. It’s a crime if I don’t mention about the food served in Kudrat. We enjoyed it very much the crunchy salads grilled trout fish which melts in your mouth Rajma yummy desserts Every meal was a delight most of the veggies are home grown organic. Really felt like home away from home. Thankyou Bhavana and Sudhir for giving us a memorable stay in Kudrat. Hoping to come next year for another perfect vacation. …
