Everything about this homestay experience was truly amazing, from the property and its decor to the location to the food and the hospitality from our host Sudhir, who I must say has designed the entire homestay experience with a great eye for detail. The finesse with which our entire experience was curated made it feel like the quintessential home away from home, literally nestled amongst nature’s most exquisite self. The location was so perfect that it felt right out of a scene in paradise and the property seemed in a perfect state of bliss and harmony with nature. Maybe our manifestation had something to do with it but our experience was quite surreal, be it witnessing the most enchanting sunset or a rainbow that seemed straight out of a 3D movie and the pictures that I’ve shared are testimony to how much we treasured these gifts of nature. The tasteful choice of artefacts used to decorate the property was conspicuous by its presence. The chef and his team were awesome and it was amazing how they catered to our taste buds so well across a range of different cuisines. I’d say Sudhir went out of the way to make our experience truly memorable and we’d love to go back here every year; if it was a tad easier on the pocket, we’d probably wanna live out of here literally for weeks :)

Kudrat - a property I have following on Instagram for a long time and when we planned a Himachal trip.. Tirthan was definitely on the list. Summer isn’t a great time to go to Himachal anymore because of the traffic but leave the traffic and noise behind as soon as you enter the gates of Kudrat. It is a thoughtfully built home with a lot of peace and love. Firstly it’s gorgeous setting in between the cedar forest gives you the silence that’s much needed. Plenty of places inside and outside the house where you can forget the world with a book in your hand or just by getting a shut eye. The host, Sudhir, is extremely welcoming, warm, helpful and provides you the best he can at his house. It’s more like their house that’s been opened up to their guests. Food is absolutely fantastic .. kitchen is delightfully clean and hygienic. The staff… absolutely incredible.. they take care of you with lot of love and respect. We were a big family of 8 with kids (oldies included) so Sudhir made sure we get the ground floor rooms. There are stairs in the house both outside and inside and he gave me an upfront warning which was very sweet of him. Place is beautifully curated with the most unique pieces and art. I loved the vibe of the place. Sudhir suggests a lot of hikes and picnics that can keep you busy if you are looking for an active holiday. We went to the riverside and absolutely enjoyed it … the Himachali food was lip smacking good and served with so so so much love.
They have a dog as well, Ollie, wonderful soul. My daughter and niece loved playing with him.

I would def come back but at a better time in Oct when I don’t have to deal with that crazy traffic.

All in all - a terrific place, absolutely wonderful hosts ( Sudhir & Bhawna) and with a very beautiful vibe. What else do you need :)?

I was at Kudrat with two of my friends for 5 days. It was an unforgettable and unique experience.
The property has been designed beautifully. I just loved the sense of aesthetics used to decorate the common areas and the guest rooms. It reflects Sudhir and Bhavna’s good taste. Each piece has been sourced with an effort and seems to have a story attached to it. The common areas and the rooms all have fireplaces. For me this was a unique experience. All the common areas exuded warmth and were cosy with throws flung on each couch and armchair. My favorite couch had a heater next to it and the view of the valley and in the distance snow covered mountains. Reflects thoughtfulness on part of the host.
Sudhir is a lovely host and has an effortless way in which he connects with all his guests. He is a great story-teller. The experiences he shared were very interesting.
The staff were all genial , always smiling and happy to help with our requests. There is a cake that is always available in the dining room and is delicious. Chef Keshav was very professional and efficient. Roshan and Aniket are Man Fridays around at hand to assist at all times. Always smiling and ever present.
As far as activities go there are lots of treks and picnics that they organise in and around Tirthan.
I would recommend the picnic by the river. The Himachali food served was amazing. It was prepared and served by Sonu and his wife Priyanka. Definitely have to try a dumpling kind of dish called Siddu which was scrumptious.
On our way back from the trek to the meadow above Sarchi village , we stopped at Rakesh and Asha’s small cafe and had Rajma chawal and Kadhi , it was just out of the world. Do not miss that.
I can go on and on.
I recommend going to Kudrat and enjoying the Tirthan Valley and lots more.

Kudrat is a quaint little place perched on the edge of one of the many mountains in Tirthan valley. Once you reach Kudrat, you feel like you’re transported to a different world where the trees are greener, the air is crisper and the food, tastier. We stayed in The Woodhouse which was a little ways away from the main house and was a perfect home for our group of 6. Both the Stonehouse and The Woodhouse look like very authentic Himachali homes complete with warm fireplaces while also replete with creature comforts like an electric bed heater.

The stone and wood exterior, ivy clinging to the walls, the stone steps surrounded by pine trees make you feel like you’re in a fairy land. The interiors also deserve special mention, each and every nook and corner is so tastefully done. I never thought I’d fall so in love with curtains at a homestay 😄

Sudhir exudes warmth and knows exactly what we would want to do on any given day. He is full of suggestions and back-up plans. The day hikes we did and the day spent by the riverside are all things that we will not forget anytime soon. The tie-ups that they have with local people there ensures that we get a good taste of Himachali culture while also making sure that the locals benefit from tourists like us.

The staff is great and knows just when you need a refill of food. And coming to food, after our long days of hiking we would always come back to substantial, nutritious and scrumptious home-cooked meals that would fill our stomachs and souls. Ahhh, how I miss the food at Kudrat!

Putting it shortly Kudrat is like a big, warm hug on a cold winter’s day. This is your place to stay if you’re in Tirthan Valley, look no further!

Thank you, Sudhir and Bhawana, for providing such an extraordinary holiday experience. The food was absolutely incredible, with each meal surpassing the last in both flavor and presentation. The attention to detail in every dish was evident and made dining an absolute pleasure. Additionally, the swimming opportunities were nothing short of fantastic. The pristine waters, coupled with the perfect weather, made each swim a truly refreshing and invigorating experience. This combination of exceptional cuisine and delightful swimming made the trip truly memorable and one that I will cherish for a long time.

One of the best places to visit for the scenic snow capped mountains view right from your bedroom window. Very comfortable and spacious, the host Sudhir and his wife were very comforting and helpful. The wooden house especially makes for an exquisite experience. One of the most visually rewarding trips of my life.
And to add to it the kitchen is very well managed and serves you finger licking food at your convenience.
Would love to visit again

One line to describe the place as per my son “ best place for vacation on earth in mountains "

I m sure it’s the place , service , the rooms and of course the Internet and YouTube

But I resonate the same as it’s one of the best places with full of warmness , service , hospitality & location.

Didn’t find anything negative except the team keeps feeding you which might not be good if you are on diet 😊

Hands-down the best homestay experience so far, and we have stayed in some pretty amazing homestays in many countries. Sudhir and Bhavana have created a warm and delightful home. They paid attention to very tiny details that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Both of them are super friendly and they truly enjoy hosting people. Me and my husband became fans of food that was so mindfully prepared by Bhavana and her team. Every dish, even Dalia was awesome. Sudhir suggested some amazing hidden places around the valley and helped us get there. It’s a beautiful home, genuinely friendly family, lip smacking food, and is surrounded by a stunning view of valley and lush green mountains.

Aptly named “Kudrat “ is situated in the middle of the pine forest of Tirthan valley. The property is very tasteful made with attention to detail and inhabited by a beautiful family. Sudhir, Bhavna and Kudrat are incredible individuals who made us feel like we were visiting friends rather than staying in a commercial property. I have to mention the food, the food is outstanding, kudos to Bhavna, her personal involvement in the kitchen makes sure that every meal coming out of the kitchen is Michelin star standards. Sudhir is always there to help you make your trip memorable. He suggests the best day trips you can take and is always there to help you with everything that you need. THE CONVERSATIONS that you have, not just with the family but the other guests is something we have never experienced in any other place. Lastly I have to mention Olie, the cutest little cocker spaniel I know. Our daughter fell in love with him the minute we checked in, not just our daughter he was a star for all the kids present there. I will end this by saying that I am gonna go back to this place again and again coz we had a blast.

The place of out of the world....dreamy...true to its name...Kudrat!

The detailed interiors, antique and exquisite vibe yet warm and cosy! Perfect blend of luxury plus home stay! Absolutely stunning.. out of a picture postcard place! You can just keep sitting staring both at the place and stay... Snow clad mountains right outside your room window!

The hosts keep these small jars of home made mixture for your munching...you can't help but notice how thoughtful the experience is ..where else would you find glass water bottles kept in your room instead of the regular plastic. This was the thing that was really impressive for me.

There is so much to add ..from the jars of a variety of pickles to the authentic mountain's cakes kept for the guests...home cooked meals...forest essentials toiletry...to the outstanding paintings, rugs and stoles...very tasteful and thoughtful!!

Is the property on the river front, if not how far is the river from it.
Answer from bhawana k

Hi..we are exactly 5 kms away from the river tucked away in a quiet peaceful side by the forest. It takes 10 mins by car to reach the river. We get beautiful river sound and very distant views of river. I guess ...What neeraj is saying is that we organise lunch by the river at a secluded private spot and this spot is 40 mins from our place. And at that spot there is a villager who organises a great local delicacy lunch by the river and you pay him directly on actuals. It's an experience. I guess he charges around Rs. 300 - Rs 350 per person. We dont charge for this lunch. I hope your query is answered now. Regards Bhawana.
