We stayed at Captain Grant's when we visited our son nearby at the Naval Base. We chose this B&B due to it's great reviews and it was supposedly haunted. We had a great room at the front corner of the house. Even though there are a number of buses which travel the road to the casino in a nearby city,... More

We are regulars at Captain Grant's 1754. This great, historic Revolutionary period house has so much character, and is tastefully decorated with antiques. In recent years we have stayed at this fine old house twice a year, once in June for our anniversary, then usually in August or September. We always book the Adelaide Room; although small, it is cozy,... More

My family has stayed at Captain Grant twice now and each time was a wonderful experience. We love the breakfasts, treats and knowledge Ted and Carol have of what's happening in the area. The rooms are all great and have plenty of linens. I can't wait for the family to go back again this coming year.

my wife and I stayed at the main house in January 2012 and we were delighted by the hospitality as well as the accommodations. We intend on returning to the Captain for a second honeymoon in the near future.

Thank you Mr. Plastiqman. Your review is what helps our bed and breakfast continue to prosper. Please come back and see us. I read that you also reviewed the Brookside Tavern. It is under new ownership and some good changes are happening. They got rid of the bull last month. Carol and Ted More

I had the privilege of spending two nights with my mother and sister at Captain Grant's B&B a few months ago. Initially, I came across Captain Grant's on Groupon and then looked up reviews- with the fantastic feedback I booked my stay- we were extremely pleased. We saw many reviews that the house was haunted, which for me and my... More

Marguerite, Thank you for the wonderful review. We love to have breakfast with our guests. It's the best part of the B&B business. Also thank you for mentioning that the house was built in 1754. She (the house) is on the National Register of Historic Places. She demands a lot of attention but it is all a labor of love.... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here in February of last year for a ladies getaway weekend. From the moment we entered, we were welcomed by Ted and Carol as if we were entering their home. They showed us around the house--from kitchen, to living room, to the room we were staying--every detail was made to make their guests feel welcome.... More

Wow. I'm not quite sure what this Ohio guest is looking for but as a picky New Yorker, this inn is just wonderful. It's a beautiful escape in the country. The inn is beautifully maintained and the owners, Ted and Carole, are perfectly nice and accomodating. As soon as you walk in, you can tell how much time and effort... More

Thank you for your wonderful description of our little inn. It is great to read a response that acknowledges the history of the inn. There are not many left that are this old. We would love to see you again in the future. Ted and Carol More

This room was reserved due to the reviews from Trip Advisor - were they made up? The room was cramped and musty smelling. After doing our usual inspection of the mattress - it was questionable! Shower didn't work and then we found a cockroach. We complained to the owners and left. Had hope we would receive our money back -... More

We remember this couple quite clearly. The gentleman didn't like the home the minute the door was open to him. It just went downhill from that time until they left which was about 15 minutes later. They didn't like the room as you can tell by their comments. While my husband was on his way back to the office, after... More

Wonderful old home converted into a charming BnB. The owners, Carol and Ted, couldn't be nicer. Did so enjoy the great breakfast out on the covered deck but more importantly enjoyed the conversation. Although we were headed for the aquarium and a long drive home, we didn't want to leave. (Wish we'd stayed and skipped the aquarium.) Beautiful grounds and... More
