We went here with Ross Holidays around Easter 2022, just as new tourist season was starting. It is a very nice place, vintage cosy, with large terrasses, an okay swimming pool with beds and seats around it. It was clean and luxururious (to mediterreanian standards, do not expect western 5 star luxury). The terraces look out over the bay and mountains beyond, and the view is very pretty, both day and night. The owner welcomed us, had a very royal free breakfast because of Easter and even baked my GF a birthday cake. There is a very nice coffee/lunch bar just some steep slope path down, and a good Greek restaurant at about 250 mtr. The rest of the town and restaurants are about 15-20 mins walking. Not everything was open already, but we still had plenty choice for drinks, dinner and shopping. You can hire a motor boat in the harbor for about 110 euro (incl. gas) for a whole day, which gave access to some remote secluded *bounty* beaches and a nice sea trip. The only downside was the the journey to and from: It took us 15 hours house to house from Amsterdam, due to flight delay and serious boat delay. And 10 hours back (due to airport being slow to open and start up and again flight delay). But all the way Ross holiday hostesses guided us, and even watched our luggage on the boat while we were up deck. There was not a moment we did not know where to go or what to do. And all delays were beyond their power. If you do not mind a possible long journey, this is really a great place to stay.…
We stay here each year, and simply put this is a truly lovely spot to spend your days in Vathy Ithaca. Aris is as good a host as could be, he is very welcoming, helpful and always with a smile. The views are breathtaking perched above the bay/harbor with a pool to lounge around with the views below, and yet a short walk down and you're in the action. Cant reccomend this hotel more, thank you Aris for a great stay, if you're heading to Ithaca make this your base, you wont regret it.
Like everyone else we love the place. Aris is a real ‘host’ . I’m pretty sure the place has had a nice makeover since we came two years ago. Spotlessly clean, lovely pool, totally relaxing. We share the breakfast as it’s enormous. So many people, including us said that the air conditioner didn’t work. It does but you HAVE to close all doors and windows as they have sensors on them. Providing you are confident driving on the wrong side rent a car. There’s very little traffic and it goes slowly. Exploring the island isn’t easy without one. We used Pafanis at Kephalonia airport €20 per day
Had a great stay at the Odyssey apartments, great location and very nice accommodation, Aris and his family will treat you well and will make you feel welcome so my recommendation is please visit this paradise soon, say hello to Dennis the local fisherman !.
After marrying in Kefalonia, we made our way to Ithaca for a few days of much needed relaxation. And relax we did! Our little room with lovely shutters and fresh flowers was like a scene from Mama Mia. And the view...out of this world! Of course we went out to explore the beautiful island but every afternoon couldn't wait to get back and have a dip in the pool, and sit on our balcony with our friendly Gekko's and take in the view. These apartments are quiet, peaceful, pretty and the hospitality offered by Aris and his wife, and Dimitra, is wonderful. So genuinely friendly and kind. I can't wait to return! Great breakfast too!
We stayed here for a week with our three kids. We had the two bedroom apartment which was very spacious and accommodated is all well, it was also spotless. The furnishings etc are basic but that’s all you need or want. The view from the room was stunning. The pool is quite small and with three kids I did feel set conciliatory that they were taking up most of the space, but nobody made us feel bad. Vathy is a gorgeous town. The walk to the main part is about twenty minutes but it’s a stunning walk. There are so nice tavernas slightly closer. All in all I would highly recommend as great value for money apartments.
We have just returned from a five night stay in Odyssey Apartments in Ithaca and had the best time. Aris greeted us and was so friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We had taken a ferry across from Kefalonia in the car which was really easy and relatively cheap. The entrance to Odyssey Apartments is impressive in itself, and has a beautiful view of Vathi harbour. The rooms were clean and spacious, and were practical for our needs. We hired a car and drove into the town each day which was very easy, but I imagine it is around a twenty minute walk otherwise. We had such a great time staying in this beautiful hidden gem of Vathi and couldn’t recommend it enough.
Lovely place. Aris is a great guy and very helpful. The apartments are quite boutique and super clean. And the view!!!! Pool is perfect. Everything about this place is 100% we had a wonderful week and can’t wait to go back.
We had a fantastic, relaxing stay in Odyssey Apartments in Vathy. Our holiday was made particularly comfortable and enjoyable by the friendly, helpful and permanently cheerful owner/manager Aris and his staff. The location of Odyssey Apartments is superb with a beautiful view over the entrance to the harbour and the mountain on the other side. It's lovely to sit on the veranda and watch the yachts sail in and out of Vathy. The Apartments are a 5 min walk to a couple of good restaurants down the hill and a 10-15 min walk to the centre of town where there are many more restaurants, shops and a couple of supermarkets, banks/ATMs and fantastic bakeries. The Odyssey Apartments are very clean, well-equipped and large. We stayed in 'Penelope', with a bedroom, sitting room, a kitchenette and a spacious balcony, all with comfortable furniture, a large fridge (with ice-making facilities!), filtered coffee machine (with a supply of filter coffee), a two-ring electric stove and a selection of kitchen utensils, crockery etc. Pretty much everything you need for a relaxing self-catering holiday. A car is recommended for trips outside Vathy, but not required for access to local beaches and wonderful walks around Vathy. All in all Odyssey Apartments is an excellent place for couples interested in exploring the beautiful island of Ithaka. We really wish we were still there!…
We have recently spent a week at Odyssey apartments and did not want to come home. Aris is a first class host and his staff are lovely and will go out of their way to help with anything. Our studio on the ground floor with outside space for enjoying one of the best views we have ever had (and we have been to a lot of greek islands) was immaculately clean, comfortable beds, very well equipped with everything needed for self catering. The pool although a touch cold when we were there, was cleaned regularly and is well maintained. A lovely homemade breakfast of bread, yoghurt, honey, nuts, cheese, meat, tea / coffee is served around the pool and snack bar. Location is good, on a hill with a 15 minute walk into Vathy, where there are lively restaurants and cafes/ shops. Could not fault this lovely place and we will be back. Hopefully I will be lucky enough to see Aris's baby boy again!!…
