Our room was immaculate and very comfortable, with an authentic New England "feel"; the attention to detail made our stay a pleasure from start to finish. T.W. made us a delicious breakfast and, once again, every detail had been thought of and executed perfectly--the fruit at breakfast was fresh and delicious; the raised waffles were wonderful; the food was locally...

Hello Danielle, Thank you so much for your review! It's better than great when guests enjoy their stay here with us--and our breakfasts as well, of course! This is a unique property. 1763 for the main house--Norfolk was founded in 1758. Yes, we source our maple syrup locally--Canaan from a man named Winter (really). Great guy and great maple syrup....

We celebrated our wedding in Norfolk, CT (a nearby town) and reserved the entire inn for our out-of-town guests. TW, the manager, was absolutely fantastic and professional! Everyone loved staying at the inn and thought the food was wonderful. We had an evening get-together in the common rooms, and it was cozy and warm, and TW had vases of roses...

We are not normally B&B people; however, this past weekend at The Blackberry River Inn changed our minds. The ambiance was warm and comfortable. T.W. , the owner, was so welcoming and very interesting as well. The breakfasts were delicious and served by friendly staff. Our room was so spacious and clean. It was a terrific experience.

Thanks so much for your review! We are delighted you enjoyed your B&B experience with us! Please note, I am not the Owner--I am the Innkeeper, hired by the Owner, to manage and operate Blackberry River Inn, and with her support we have made some nice improvements this season--particularly with the breakfast offerings, the use of almost all organic foods...

Seems like a lot of the former farmer-folk in this country have morphed into innkeepers and hoteliers. They have these beautiful, old almost-mansion sized properties that are just crying out for occupants, so why not bring them there? This grand dame has stood the test of time since 1763… during the heyday of colonial New England. It’s listed on the...

Wow. This is quite a review--and I mean that in a good positive way! Thank you so much for taking the time for this review! Well, actually never was a farmer. I have been in the hospitality business since high school and I am Cornell Hotelie (Cornell Hotel School) as well. The Owner of BRI is also not a farmer--it's...

Breakast was excellent, friendly staff and nice accomodations. The property was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by US Department of Interior. We attended an event at Lime Rock Park and did not spend much time at the Inn. We did not have time to explore areas around the Inn. There did not seem to be many places...

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to provide a review for others. Much appreciated! Yes, our main house was built in 1763. Amazing, but only 2 rooms and 2 suites in the main house. Still, the Carriage House is at least 130 years old. There are a variety of activities in this area--both indoor (music, concerts)...

A good Bed & Breakfast starts at the top with the Inn Keeper - how devoted, dedicated, and concerned is this person for the visitor and the establishment. We loved staying at the BBRI! Beds are comfortable, and the breakfasts are delicious! TW and Tabu made us feel at home, and like family! The only recommendation we have would be to have fans in the rooms. The rooms can get stuffy, even with the windows open (the rooms do have a/c units). We will definitely return, next time...

We are delighted you loved your stay with us! Good point about the fans. Most of the rooms and all the suites have ceiling fans actually, but there are a few rooms in the Carriage House that currently do not have a fan. They certainly should have.
