We stayed just one night at this lovely end, staying in a Carriage House room. It is a lovingly cared for and larger B & B with a terrific Innkeeper! Our beds were twin sized yet comfortable and the room and private bath were spotless. We slept very well and enjoyed an incredibly delicious and filling breakfast with the most...

So glad you enjoyed your stay with us! Yes, I must admit those raised waffles (using yeast) are pretty darn good:-) Of course it doesn't hurt to be served with real maple syrup from our local maple syrup expert, Winter Mead, and organic butter. Thanks too for taking the time to write a review! Much appreciated. Really glad you enjoyed...

Thank you very much for your review! We are honestly delighted you enjoyed your stay with us! Yes, our main house was built in 1763. Norfolk was founded in 1758. We really do appreciate that you took the time to write a review. Thanks so much. T.W. Innkeeper

Immaculate room with comfortable bed and quality bedding. Attentive and knowledgeable Innkeeper T.W. also cooked delicious breakfasts. Inn's common areas are both charming and hospitable; great places to relax following hikes to Haystack mountain, the Beckley Iron Furnace (Iron Trail) & Campbell Falls. Norfolk was a delightful surprise; the Stoeckel Estate (Yale's Summer School of Art & Music), the Public...

Our room was immaculate and very comfortable, with an authentic New England "feel"; the attention to detail made our stay a pleasure from start to finish. T.W. made us a delicious breakfast and, once again, every detail had been thought of and executed perfectly--the fruit at breakfast was fresh and delicious; the raised waffles were wonderful; the food was locally...

Hello Danielle, Thank you so much for your review! It's better than great when guests enjoy their stay here with us--and our breakfasts as well, of course! This is a unique property. 1763 for the main house--Norfolk was founded in 1758. Yes, we source our maple syrup locally--Canaan from a man named Winter (really). Great guy and great maple syrup....

We celebrated our wedding in Norfolk, CT (a nearby town) and reserved the entire inn for our out-of-town guests. TW, the manager, was absolutely fantastic and professional! Everyone loved staying at the inn and thought the food was wonderful. We had an evening get-together in the common rooms, and it was cozy and warm, and TW had vases of roses...

We are not normally B&B people; however, this past weekend at The Blackberry River Inn changed our minds. The ambiance was warm and comfortable. T.W. , the owner, was so welcoming and very interesting as well. The breakfasts were delicious and served by friendly staff. Our room was so spacious and clean. It was a terrific experience.

Seems like a lot of the former farmer-folk in this country have morphed into innkeepers and hoteliers. They have these beautiful, old almost-mansion sized properties that are just crying out for occupants, so why not bring them there? This grand dame has stood the test of time since 1763… during the heyday of colonial New England. It’s listed on the...
