Fantastic stay! This is a perfect location for visiting Yale. The room was perfect for my need. I absolutely LOVE the fact that they had easy and free charging for my EV. During and after the stay, the service was tremendous. I left a pair of glasses that was recovered by housekeeping and sent right out to me with ease. Highly recommend The Study at Yale!

I have used this venue on numerous occasions for holiday parties, lunch, coffee and to host/house prospective candidates from out of town. Their staff are exceptional, the venue is always clean and BEAUTIFUL with frequently rotated art exhibits downstairs in the lobby area. The conference space is exceptional for a corporate event or meeting. The restaurant has delicious, fresh food (and the tomato soup/grilled cheese is to die for!). And their pent house event room is breathtaking. I always look forward to the next event we can plan using their services.

I was pretty nervous about traveling and staying in a hotel during the pandemic, but a family emergency gave me little choice in the matter. The Study at Yale alleviated so much of this apprehension. I chose them initially on a friend's recommendation—and also based on their transparent pandemic cleaning standards, which stipulated that they leave rooms empty for 24-hours between guests. Their lobby was pristine and their staff was incredibly helpful and respectful of guests' space. I chose a "study" room, which had an amazing office/library nook to get some work done during my stay. I was bummed that the restaurant was closed (due to the circumstances), but still got to enjoy room service breakfast. Also love the amenities from C.O. Bigelow! Classic.
Overall this was a much-needed relaxing stay during a wildly tumultuous time. Thanks to the staff for prioritizing guests' safety and providing a haven for those of us who need to travel.

We stayed at The Study for a wedding in New Haven this June. We brought our 10 lb toy poodle with us. Always love being able to bring my dog :-).
Staff were courteous and helpful. The gentleman who usually valets and greets was especially lovely.
The room we had (3rd floor, facing Chapel Street) was large with a decent-sized desk. The stand-up shower was nice also large, although the bathroom itself was a bit small. The bed wasn't awesome, but I'm also in love with my mattress at home. The rooms had both blackout curtains and mesh curtains so you could have some privacy while still letting some light in.
We each used the gym facilities. It's small, and really only a few people can be in there at once (and really only one of those can be using the weights), but it had everything you needed, which is always great.
Parking was tight. It seemed to be full a fair amount, but we were able to find a spot. Only downside is that there's no way for guests to easily get into the garage under the hotel; you have to hop out and let reception you're a guest (only if our guy wasn't there, that is!). So not a huge deal.
Location was great. Lots of cute restaurants and bars nearby, campus is right there with gorgeous areas to walk through.
Highly recommend staying here if you're in New Haven.

This is a 4.0 star hotel with 3.0 rooms—a clean, no frill, IKEA feel. The bathroom is very small and the rooms are simple. Where it excels is its location, its customer service, and its quiet rooms. We heard nobody else while we were there! We loved walking around Yale, and the $20 overnight garage parking felt secure. The morning coffee was great quality too. Don’t forget to walk over to BAR for some famous CT pizza and their homemade brew.

Stayed at the Study over Xmas. The hotel has a boutique-like feel and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is immaculate and their farm-to-table restaurant, Heirloom, serves up great food and the staff, especially Isa, really make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The rooms are modern and nicely appointed. The hotel is within walking distance of museums, the Shubert Theatre, and many great New Haven shops and restaurants.

I’ve stayed at the Study several times over the years and have really enjoyed my experience and felt it was worth the price. This time, the only room choice available was two double beds, so I was forced to book that room. It should have been less expensive than it was since in some ways it felt like I was in a college dorm. I won’t hold the hotel responsible for the view of the roof, since it can’t be helped, but the rest of the experience didn’t make up for that eyesore, which is really disappointing. The room felt worn, definitely needs a fresh coat of paint, only had one cup, no lotion, the music player is using years-old obsolete technology and is basically unusable for the majority of guests (and also, it was dirty). It’s odd that they haven’t been upgraded to something bluetooth compatible, which I would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Most importantly, I don’t understand why there was no way to block the light in the morning. Why is there just a shade?? I was looking forward to sleeping in— a rare occasion and the main reason I booked a hotel in the first place— but was bathed in light at sunrise. The subsequent lack of sleep negatively affected my entire day and made me feel like I should have just stayed home.
There are several new hotels in the area and they’re doing things right. I will hesitate to book the Study again since it feels (at least from the room I was given) that they’re not keeping up despite having similar rates as the others. I hope they’ll at least update their music technology and install some curtains, even in the less sought after rooms.
(I emailed the above concerns directly to the hotel after my stay and no one has responded to me, which actually makes me never want to stay at this hotel again. I’ll be going to the Graduate and the Blake the several times every year that I’m in New Haven)

Staff at the front desk were fabulous, and loved the main lobby area as well as the delicious coffee drinks the staff served us. On the down side, we paid extra for a 425 sq ft King Study Suite with campus view (KNSTVW) and found the layout a bit odd...bedroom area seemed small-ish, while there was a sitting area off in its own kind of alcove that was too separated from the rest of the space. Meanwhile, the bathroom was surprisingly tiny. Also the electric outlets were not conveniently placed by the bed on both sides. On one side it was reachable via the back of the bed. For the other side, the nearest outlet was on a nearby wall, and my charger cord was too short to reach it. Most standard hotel chains (i.e., Marriott) get the whole electric outlet thing right, in this age of smartphones...this property should try to do so, too. Would just go with a regular room next time! Location is PERFECT, would stay again for sure.

Overall the service was good, valet was great and room was good. We did run into an issue but the manager of the hotel had to step in and did get it corrected. We were at the hotel from Wednesday to Sunday and when we checked in at no time did the representatives tell us to make reservations at the hotel restaurant for meals. We got right in on Wed-Friday for breakfast but come Saturday morning they said they didn't have room to eat breakfast and that we needed reservations. There was plenty of room as we could see tables empty and the manager did get us a table.

The Study at Yale was extremely comfortable. Reassuringly in this time of COVID, it was clean, and the staff appeared to be following protocols to encourage safety: socially distanced check-in, hand sanitizer easily accessible, a culture of mask-wearing in the lobby. We stayed for two days and there was no cleaning or linen change after the first night but that also felt safe: we had our room to ourselves. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, from the moment we walked up the steps until we left. We parked our car in their basement below.

The hotel has valet parking which I highly recommend. There are some public lots nearby, but I would not leave my car in any of them overnight.
They did in my room...wish I could remember what number it was!
I can't speak for hotel management, but they have a small food concession in the lobby, so I assume they expect that people might come in to get some coffee and snacks. There's also a restaurant and bar, so no one's checking room keys. If you make a purchase at the coffee shop, I assume you've paid your lobby rent.
It was around 270.00 a night for a queen room plus tax and other charges which ended up over 300.00 and change. It was during restaurant week. I like the location with respect to my granddaughters dorm. I find the Omni a better value. The Study is nice but over priced.
