We have never felt more welcome at any hotel or B & B we stayed at. The hosts are Evan and Robert. Evan is a most gracious host and meets travelers upon arrival to offer a tour of the historic inn and many of the antique furnishings and paintings. Each has a history of its own. The house has been...

We had the priviledge of staying at the House of 1833 in June. We'd researched a multitude of options and decided on Evan and Robert's House--so glad we did! The setting, the atmosphere, the comforts--all amazing. So many wonderful things to look at (and Evan and Robert have great stories). My husband, daughter, and I stayed in the Oak Room...

You are greeted by the gracious host Evan, a mature gentleman who runs (and owns) the place with Robert. Several small dogs on the property will largely ignore you - they have their own business to attend to, presumably - but Evan will (time permitting) give you a tour of this Historic Landmark which, yes, does date back to 1833....

First and foremost, Evan and Robert you are the best inn keepers in the world. Your hospitality was extraordinary. The House of 1833 is beautifully decorated with antiques, many that are original to the house. A lot of history there. You begin your stay with a thorough tour of the house and grounds and finish up in your suite. We...

The House of 1833 is a historical adventure. A 180 year old mansion, run by affable hosts Evan and Robert. Breakfasts were wonderful, history interesting, all rooms packed with antiques. If you are visiting Mystic Seaport, why not sleep in something from the same vintage?

This was our 4th stay at The House of 1833. EVERYTHING about the M&B was excellent, from the unique & delicious breakfast to the attentiveness of the hosts. Each year Evan and Robert seem to have done somehting to improve the house & grounds - each of them seem to have special talents that they share with the guests -...

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary at the House of 1833. Evan and Robert made us feel like royalty. If you love antiques and appreciate old treasures, this B&B will not disappoint. There is so much to look at and appreciate. I especially enjoyed the album about the history of the house. The breakfasts were delicious. We stayed...

My boyfriend and I went to the house of 1833 this past May. We splurged on the romantic suite with the fireplace and bathtub with jets. We just loved that room to pieces - especially during our rainy stay in Mystic. The suite is stocked with sherry wine and bath salts to make the experience even more luxurious. I have...

Well done, Evan and Robert! Upon arriving at House of 1833, we were immediately struck by the very unique nature of these accommodations. It was obvious that many years of careful curation went into the decor, but that was just the beginning... To say we felt welcomed and valued as guests would be an understatement. We were immediately given a...

This is a B&B with a lot of character and charm. It has interesting history inside and out. My stay in the Ivy room was very comfortable. The hosts were so friendly and knew so much about the area. Breakfast was super and they had no problem taking care of my food allergies. My next trip i will have to...
