Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for two nights and after comparing what other hotels charge, this could be the best value in Mystic. The room rates are considerably lower than other accomodations in the area which tend to be pricey. Yes, it's an older hotel and needs updating. Not the newest or classiest hotel in Mystic, but still a very good one. The wallpaper needs attention and carpeting in the lobby area has seen better days, But our room and all the public areas are clean and well-maintained. The hotel has a friendly, accomodating staff that answered our questions about nearby restaurants and gave us directions to attractons we wanted to visit, offers a very good breakfast in a spacious dining area, has a gymnasium with good equipment and a nice outdoor pool. Speaking of breakfast, in our opinion it's very satisfying - juices, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, muffins, cereals, and a waffle maker. Check in and check out were fast and easy. The location is good, close to the Mystic Seaport Museum and the Mystic Aquarium.

I was concerned when I saw the 2.8 rating on booking.com but I try to never let reviews deter me because I’m not super picky. The room was very spacious, my husband and I were quite surprised at how large it was. There was a fridge and a microwave which was nice and a couch, desk, ad a coffee table. My husband and I also appreciated two large mirrors instead of just one. Bed was comfortable, pillows were not great but we brought our own so it wasn’t even an issue for us. I’d recommend doing the same.
Bathroom was large and clean. The hairdryer though is outdated and it took forever to dry my hair, not a huge deal though. I just recommend bringing your own. The water stayed hot and never went cold on either of use and water pressure was average for a hotel. In the shower was the only time I ever heard any outside noise.. just some banging around but it didn’t bother me.
Staff was friendly and check in and out process was very quick. Price was great too.
Yes it could use some improvements like wallpapers which is peeling in some places or new lamps but it was clean, comfy, and just want we needed for two nights. I would have stayed a week here. We would definitely stay again.

Took a trip to Mystic before unoffical end of summer. Just needed to stay one night. They are still renovating ,replacing carpet. If you're looking for a no frills place, just to sleep & eat breakfast next morning, this is it. Small gym is accessible 24hrs, pool still open ,water was clean.
my original room was next to noiser tourist. I requested different room and the female recepionist was very acommodating. room included microwave & Mini fridge/freeze, very convient for a family

Hotel's Favourite
The hotel was very modern and clean and the workers were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool and free breakfast. Checked in on a Friday for 2 days and it is the perfect location for visiting all that Mystic has to offer, would definitely stay there again.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We had 2 rooms reserved. One room had a toilet that didn’t flush, no thermostat on the wall to adjust temperature (you could only adjust fan speed on the unit) so it was freezing cold the entire night, and a tv that didn’t work. Both rooms smelt of smoke despite the no smoking signs. The entire hotel melt moldy and dirty. The epitome of dirt was the hair in our “clean” shower. Needless to say, I didn’t shower during our stay. The other room had a major leak in the sink and the bathroom floor was dirty and wet. We asked the hotel desk to send someone to correct it at 5:30pm when we were leaving for dinner. When returned at 10pm it still wasn’t addressed. We then had to talk to the desk again and wait for them to come evaluate it with 3 kids under 5 years old who needed to go to bed. They placed a bucket under the sink and mopped the wet floor with a dirty mop.

We booked two rooms, one for my family and one for a friends family. When I called two weeks ago they said their pool would be open with no restrictions on use. When we arrived the pool was closed because it had not been inspected yet. Our friends sink and toilet took forever for water to go down. There was exposed outlets without covers. The towel bar in the bathroom fell off, and to top it all off the “continental breakfast” consisted of a paper bag with a juice, apple, and cupcake. So we ended up having to spend more money on a actual breakfast. It’s not difficult to put a muffin or bagel or even a box of cereal in a bag. Won’t be staying here ever again, for the $169 per room I would rather have just stayed in my car.

At $238 per night would have expected better but I guess they can get away with it because other nearby hotels cost more. Waited at least 20 minutes to check in even with no line. Confirmed reservation and charged credit card but then had to wait for manager to get our room. Apparently staffing issues had called manager away. Impression on way to room was of worn hallway with food crumbs so we were relieved that the room and bathroom looked clean. I suppose unless you want to pay more, habe to accept.

I use to love this Hotel, but after 3 yrs of no vacations, I booked again, and wow what a change.
I paid the top price to stay on July 1,2,3, 2022 and this is a worn-out place.
My room's air conditioning has not been clean and smelled terrible, and listening to complaints as I was eating breakfast, bed bugs, and water leaking over the floor, I will never come back here again. I was told they have a new owner and the front desk had excellent service when you needed something, but this place needs a lot of services. The price now 7-13-22 is half the price of what I paid and I still would not go back.

Way overpaid $130 night for this run down hotel. We were so tempted to leave when we got there. No one in the parking lot. it looked abandoned. The room was small and dark very plain. The shower stall was supposed to be white but tinged yellow stained. Might have been a smokers room, although I requested non smoking. The wood on the doors looked like a beaver had been gnawing at them. Cheap uncomfortable pillows. Empty Vending machines. The free breakfast was a "snack pack" one bag of chips and one cookie.

Room Tip: Go to Holiday Inn Express down the street near Steak Loft. That looked nice, usually has good rates.

Will never step foot in this establishment if you can actually call it that ever again. Dried blood on sheet, unknown object on floor which my wife stepped on and toilet seat which looked like it was from an outhouse from the 60s. When my wife was at front desk to complain she spoke with a family who was also getting a refund. They were moved to 3 different rooms and found a used maxipad in the bathroom in the last room. I am 100 percent serious and was shocked when my wife told me .Absolutely disgusting. Incomprehensible. There was another couple there who overheard what was being said and they also complained about something in their room but couldn't find another room in the area(assuming comparable price) so had to deal with it. Please listen to this review and the countless other bad reviews on here and do not give these owners a dime of your money. Spend the extra money on a better cleaner hotel and be happy which is what we did.
