Detailed Reviews
If you plan to stay a night or two here, then go off to look for India, change your plans and stay longer! At Devpur, you will have found India. From the moment you arrive you should feel embraced and supported, and leave feeling nourished. I spent 5 nights here, and felt that it was far too soon to be leaving. The darbargadh is a working school and farm, preserving the values of its rich heritage. It is central to the lively, and very friendly village of Dewapur. Its great hospitality and ambience stems from its gracious, cultured and amusing host, Krutarth. This is not an ostentatious place, it is classy, and it is homely. It offers sumptious local food, and there is so much else to discover within short distances. Devpur homestay embodies the reasons why I keep returning to India.

An hours drive further from Bhuj, Devpur Homestay is set in the idyllic Yaksha Devpar (Kutchi) Village. The feeling of royalty begins at the magnificient giant doors from a bygone era. This beautiful homestay and the extended farmstay are managed by the owner who stays on the property. Morning breakfasts and evening dinners are a delight listening to the stories of Kutch and India, meeting other travellers and sharing travel experiences and getting pampered with the amazing home cooked meals and an attentive host. Winter evenings by the warmth of a campfire, sipping on some hot soup and chatting with fellow guests is an activity by itself. We made trips to Lakhpat (last town at the border), Koteshwar, Vijayvilas Palace, Mandvi Beach, Nirona and Hodko handicraft villages and of course to the Rann of Kutch - all from the homestay.
Our stay was in the beautiful and royal 16 pillared room called the Sorthamba. The guest care by the staff is outstanding, caring and loving. Do not miss listening to the sounds of the school on campus and some other interesting things around.

This is a century old manor/small fort in a lively traditional village. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, revealing the local culture and heritage, the courtyard is bright with flowering trees and the food is delicious.
Best of all though is the warm and generous welcome from Krutarth and his dignified mother. A very special place to stay.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary in Kutch, and after some search, booked Devpur Homestay. The experience, right from the first telephonic contact with Shri Krutarthsinhji, has been very pleasant. Upon reaching the property we found Krutath and his wife Neetu waiting for us. We were escorted to an excellent room in the haveli. The property is well maintained. Food was par excellence, and the whole family joined us for all meals, which was very nice. Overall it was a memorable stay and certainly would like to visit again

We were a group of 8 travelling through Rann of Kutch and spent 2 nights at Devpur.
It was a very refreshing experience. The owner Mr. Krutarthsingh and his team made it a very pleasant stay.
He took us on a walk through his orchard while regaling us with a lot of local information.
Food was delicious, homely and wholesome.
Truly a wonderful experience.

This is a gem of an experience. All of the rooms are beautiful, each unique, in a charming little palace in a quiet village in Kutch. The owner is your host, and so gracious, hospitable and knowledgeable. You really feel at home. Excellent home cooked food. A great place to feel the essence of Kutch.

We landed at Devpur homestay with certain expectations as we had stayed at a similar place in Rajasthan earlier. Considering the places I have traveled, nothing matches the experience and value this place offers.
The hosts are really nice, Mr. Krutarth's wife ensures she spends time with guests and comes across so genuinely nice. His mum too asks guests if they need something and attends to them, very humbling..
The location isn't very convenient considering the distance from Bhuj city but its absolutely worth the drive back and forth. There are other places that are close by, so dont strike it off your list if convenience is important.
The food is really nice and suites most palettes, I had a bad stomach before I got here and they ensured I was given something to calm my stomach. Also, if you are non-vegetarian and have been desperate for some nice chicken, this is one of the very few places it is available.
The property is wonderful, despite the quake, they have restored the damaged sections really well. The rooms are extremely spacious, you almost get a house to yourself. You get the feel of living with royalty

I have had several friends who stayed here and they all raved about it. Perhaps staying a different time of year would have made a difference. We stayed here over Christmas, and the weather did affect our stay. First, let's highlight the plus sides: it is, indeed, a beautiful old home. Amazing, gorgeous, you will find yourself running around and snapping photos of this historic home. We did find the host a lovely man, but we only got to speak to him on arrival, as he left early the next day to drop his son to school in a different town. The down sides: It was freezing. Yes, we knew it was going to be December, but we did not expect the rooms to be so cold. We went to bed wearing all of our clothes, and were still chilly. Second, the beds (with the exception of the rope beds in the pink tower), were SO hard, it was like sleeping on a rock. I do not normally have problems with various beds, but I can honestly say those were the hardest beds we've ever felt. Third, the family runs a small school on their property. We loved chatting with the boarding students at night, but did not appreciate the early morning (read- EXTREMELY early... 5 AM) loudspeaker wakeup calls... there must be a better way of waking up the students than blaring loud prayer music so early in the morning. On Christmas day the students did not have school, so we had no idea why the wake up call was needed. Finally, although the host was indeed nice and gracious, after he left, none of the rest of the staff seemed to care at all about our stay or how we were doing. Considering we stayed multiple days and had booked the majority of their rooms, I would have expected at least a little friendliness. Overall, extremely disappointed in this place. We were really looking forward to our stay are were let down.

Dear Friends, Acceptance When we don't accept an undesired event, it becomes Anger; when we accept it, it becomes Tolerance. When we don't accept uncertainty, it becomes Fear; when we accept it, it becomes Adventure. When we don't accept other's undesired behaviour towards us, it becomes Hatred; when we accept it, it becomes Forgiveness. When we don't accept other's Positive Attitude, it becomes Jealousy; when we accept it, it becomes Inspiration. Acceptance is the key to handling any situation. I accept your review. God bless you. Excellent stay with homely touch by Krutarth Singh ji and his family. You get very good home made hot meals. The entire family helps you to have a comfortable stay. Not only the place is comfortable, the family's endeavour of running an educational institution is quite commendable. Chatting up with Krutarth Singhji in the evenings show his in depth knowledge of the place and its surrounding along with bits of history.

If you are visiting Kutch and are open to staying in a village, appreciate a homely ambience as opposed to a hotel stay, and are pleased by heritage properties, then Devpur Homestay is the place to head to. It is a charming haveli that has been partly renovated with modern amenities and is located 50 kms from Bhuj on the Lakhpat – Nakhtarana Road. You will get much more than accommodation and food which are at a reasonable cost. You will be looked after by a truly caring family and will be lovingly fed delicious meals with a full menu and a judicious dose of spices and oil. They will shower attention on you without being intrusive. Over dinner, you will meet other interesting guests from India and abroad. We had a wonderful stay there for 4 days in December 2014. It was truly a royal vacation in the ancient buildings with the owner Krutarthsinh Jadeja being ever-accommodating and the ideal host. From a traditional garland-welcome to the warm send off with most family members in attendance, the entire experience was perfect. Krutarthsinh is a warm person who nurtures relationships and will easily put you in touch with his contacts should the need arise. He is knowledgeable on history, geography and politics of the region and can help you chart out your tourist plan for the day.
The Jadeja family also runs a secondary school (CBSE) in the same premises managed by a trust. If you interact with the students you'll be impressed by their know-how, good mannerisms and fluency in the English language.
If you're reaching Bhuj by train, you can be picked up from the Bhuj railway station and dropped back by the Devpur Homestay car. You will need a vehicle with you for daily sightseeing and if you don't have one, you can hire Krutarthsinh's Innova (SUV) and driver who will also function as a tour guide. At Devpur, you can take a walk through the village with possible invitations for tea from the hospitable villagers and chit-chat with the friendly village children. It is a well-to-do village with health care facilities, comprehensive shopping, fruit and vegetable shop, snack lorries and a food joint. At 5 am, you can have a freshly made hot cup of tea in the village chowk and pick up some bites and even pay later. The population is mixed with Hindus and Muslims living side by side in good harmony. You can also stroll through the nearby fruit orchards and be greeted with moos by milch cows. Devpur is certainly not a sleepy village. It is a vibrant, rustic background to the delightful Devpur Homestay.
